Klaus-Dieter Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Because the fair last three days and LEGO is still setting things up. Look at the Toy Story 3 section, nothing is up yet. Well, over in the SW forum Darth Legolas mentioned that 10195 was revealed the last day of NY TF 2009. So you might be right and we'll see the TRU Exclusive firstly on Wednesday. Let's hope. I don't get this "rumor" LEGO will show the TRU winner at the Toy Fair, didn't they say we would see it at TF 2010? Somewhere a lot of pages back lightningtiger posted a quote with link to some website where someone affirmed that there will be released a flagship set for City fans in June which will be shown on NY TF. So you think that this was possibly a lie? Klaus-Dieter Quote
Night City Dream Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) When will the fair mentioned take place? I really hope and wish it was Public transportation center since it is the most original and complex one. As I said in a neighbour thread, public transportation is not a well developed theme for Lego City. I think it's worth being developed, really. City corner will be a repetition, truck logistic center is not so exciting and a repetition once more, since there have been 7993, 10184, 7642 etc. Edited February 14, 2010 by Night City Dream Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 That will do pig, that will do ! Here's a link to the 7566 farmer set - dam thing is still watermarked ! I found it on flickr ............Lego City 7566 Farmer Impulse Pack I'm a conformist! ! Quote
jonwil Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Even though the box for the farmer impulse is watermarked, its a pretty good bet that what you see in the built model in front is what will actually be in the set. Quote
just2good Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I love how they have a picture of the boxes of the police car and lego car. XD More LEGO Car pictures by FTBB Quote
d00dz Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I love how they have a picture of the boxes of the police car and lego car. XDMore LEGO Car pictures by FTBB haha I saw that too! I'm soo getting it just for that! Quote
jonwil Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Pictures of the City advent calendar are going up now. That green jumper guy makes me think of Steve Jobs or Richard Branson for some reason :) Ok, all the pics are up. Not a cop, fireman or construction worker to be seen. YAY. Odd that the new City stuff (airport, tank truck) isn't available in the USA until august yet its out in Australia already. Is this the first time some other country gets product when USA does not? Edited February 15, 2010 by jonwil Quote
Piranha Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks for those new pics! The farmer impulse is great! I love the fact that it is a cheap way to get a pig. Now the LEGO truck is awesome The little LEGO sets are really cool and for $35 USD, that is fairly reasonable. Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The yellow semi-trailier is AWESOME, the cool sleeper cab - a truckies dream come true - a home away from home. Stickers showing lego sets - cool ! The front end of the prime mover is totally sick - really realistic ! The advent - well that appears to be toy based - a toy crane, toy dozer, etc.,. So I'm now wondering when the rest is going to pop it's head up and show themselves ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote

So you think that this was possibly a lie? No.... I'm saying for over a year now LEGO said they would show the the set at this year's toy fair. I don't get why people are saying "It's rumoured to be shown", it will be shown! LEGO themselves said that last year when they annouced the concert! Quote
Rick Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Even though the box for the farmer impulse is watermarked, its a pretty good bet that what you see in the built model in front is what will actually be in the set. I bet this will be final too. The only issue will be what face will be on the farmer, because it's different on the box compared to the real thing. haha I saw that too! I'm soo getting it just for that! Yes! That's what I hoped they'd do. I only wish it were S@H Exclusives or truly classic Lego sets (like the Town monorail, Main Street, ...) As for the Advent calendar (I'll keep it in spoiler tags): Toy overkill? Lots of toys. The drum kit is great though! Santa taking a shower? That's hilarious and weird at the same time. And two Santas in one calendar? And only 4 other minifigs? The return of the Fabuland bread piece. Not sure what the black/white structure next to it is supposed to represent. Overall: mixed feelings on this one Edited February 15, 2010 by Rick Quote
AlaPo Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 So, the second day of an exhibition is opened! I hope that today to us at last will show those sets... AlaPo. Quote

BlueBard Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The new AC looks great, doesn't it? With a lot of really interesting torsos and elements The only negative point for me would be the apparent short number of MFs, but it's still prelim and we doesn't have clear ensemble pics so who knows? BTW, I know I could have post photos but I know there's a lot of people who hates to see what's in before they can open it in Christmas so here's a link Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) There are not two santas. One of the santas is the Miss Santa (look on her eyes- it have eyelashes like all female Minifigs) http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbtbnet/4357451837/sizes/l/ But is she a dwarf to have a beard? xD Edited February 15, 2010 by Lordofdragonss Quote

The Green Brick Giant Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 $35 dollars?! Screw LEGO. 5 years ago we got about the same amount of pieces for $15, then $20, then $25, then $30, then $30 again, now $35! In 2 years we will get 190 pieces for $55. However it looks better than the last few years have been. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thank you all very much for the links to the new pics! Farmer Impulse A good possibility to get some pigs seperately or additionaly - but not more than that. Since we already have got enough regular adult farm workers: Why didn't they include a girl, boy or grandma?! Lego Truck It's great to see that the driver's cab includes a bed and a screen. The mini Lego sets look simply . I only thing about which I'm a bit disappointed is that the actual version seems to include much less mini Lego sets than shown on the prelim picture. Now only the Lego Store is missing! Advent Calendar No police men, no fire fighters, no street cleaners - but much civilian life! This is a lot of awesome and lovely looking civilian stuff! The most I like the new green torso, the whole family, the sofa, the toy plane, the piano, the drum kit and the half pipe with skateboard! Definately very useful and lovely additions to our Lego Cities. It's a pity that the small train has not place for minifigs to sit inside. Only the snowman looks scelettical with those arms. Santa under the shower is imo a bit out of place in a set mainly addressed to kids. With the many toys included in the advent calendar I think it's time that I'll built a big sandbox in which the kids from my Legostadt can play with them (since neither in the Winter Toy Shop nor in the new City House all these toys will have place). Does someone know whether bigger tan plates (minimum 8x8) exist and are available? Btw: Do you, too, think that the new green torso will be used in the TRU Exclusive or at least in the City House set? Klaus-Dieter Quote
wooootles Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) There's a LEGO Truck in that LEGO Truck Price/piece count sucks for the truck ($35/278p) but it has lots of big panels, and the fact that it's an overall nice truck, I'll get this one. Also, not exactly CITY/Town, but it's minifg scaled... http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbtbnet/4358322616/ Edited February 16, 2010 by wooootles Quote
Rick Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The last day of the New York Toy Fair should be well underway now. Still no sign of the TRU City Exclusive (8404)? Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 The last day of the New York Toy Fair should be well underway now. Still no sign of the TRU City Exclusive (8404)? I think most sites don't go every day so LEGO will probably release some pictures later on tonight... If not I'm looking up the press release from last year. Quote
