Klaus-Dieter Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) K-D: With "Could you email me the picture" I meant what you supposed to said to the kind woman at Lego. The poll picture is old, perhaps she got a more updated. I have to disappoint you - supposably you misunderstood me, Ferdik. There is no new picture (at least I do not have one) since I only phoned S@H. About the price. It could be very small station and a bus. Threre is not much parts in the stations in the Airport Shuttle 6399. But I'm no good in Legoprices. I will stop guess now and wait. I totally agree with you, Ferdik. If there are no baseplates, snackbar, up- and down-tracks, PF stuff etc. included it perhaps might go for about 100 Euros (about 160 AUSD). Maybe it looks like that: -elevated train (without PFs) with two small stations (= glas roof with ticket machine and three seats and stairs to get downstairs to the street) and a round track circle on pillars (no moving up and down - only one level) -bus with small station (= glas roof with ticket machine and three seats) -bus driver and train driver -man (new torso from the advent calendar), woman (new torso from the City House), boy (new torso from the Small Car) and girl -some suitcases What do you think? lightningtiger Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 G'day everyone ! Yep, it's the 'tiger again, you were lucky 'Klaus D' to get a quick response - here's mine......... We appreciate your reaching out to us regarding your concerns about the Toys "R" Us Lego Exclusive relating to the Australian Toys"R"Us. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your email to the appropriate team for their prompt attention and review, and you should expect a response from a Guest Service Specialist within 3 to 5 business days to get this matter handled in a timely fashion. So a few more days - Oh, Man ! (Ben - Ben 10) Well at least they responded I guess - well I now have to wait and see - but I have an ace hiding somewhere, so I'll make my call today and hope I can get a straight answer - ONCE AND FOR ALL ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Zorbas Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Great job lightningtiger! but I have an ace hiding somewhere, so I'll make my call today and hope I can get a straight answer - ONCE AND FOR ALL ! A well played card... Keep on investigating! Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Keep on investigating! Lol, maybe TLG is doing this on purpose just to see if we can figure it out? Quote
Zorbas Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Lol, maybe TLG is doing this on purpose just to see if we can figure it out? Or perhaps to test network's and distribution channels' confidentiality and endurance! Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Or perhaps to test network's and distribution channels' confidentiality and endurance! Oh come on, they wouldn't be that clever/nasty....would they? Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Either that or someone at one of the two companies, well as we saying down under .....stuffed up ! I feel that a kid's voting system was hijacked by adults, to a point.....when trains are available in Australia they get snapped up, of course there is usually little stock so hence they sell out. And yes children do love trains, my son loves going to the train museum as well as the tram one too, but train hobby shops are generally an older person's domain, I don't see to many 10 year olds building HO scale buildings and track layouts these days ! I will try my best to get as much information as they can give me, posting that a.s.a.p. ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) bus and elevated train are (more or less) confirmed But 8404 will supposably firstly be released in the second half of 2010. I guess July which means that it will be there in some Lego Stores already in June. Klaus-Dieter Edited March 10, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter I spoke to Lego Australia - THEY KNOW NOTHING - actually they wanted me to tell customer service what TRU said to me ! WTF ? Anyway "Klaus-Dieter' an elevated train confirmed - TRU didn't say so - in fact the name and price is all they know ! I'm a conformist! eveyone ! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 In another month we will get word that it's really the city park that won! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 This morning the next toy show begins, the 2010 Australian Toy Hobby and Nursery Fair ! I don't know if we'll get much info from this or not, but might we see something pop out of somewhere since the word on the city exclusive came from an Australian HQ of TRU eh ? On another note, I posted in Aussie Sales that the pigs and tractor set with be a Big W exclusive, another dam store exclusive ! I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Piranha Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Thank you Klaus Dieter! That is totally awesome news! But I don't get it, I thought the Truck stop was already confirmed? Also if it was the Public Transport center I would not be surprised as that one would have seemed to have been the most popular. I hope it is indeed a remake of Airport shuttle and is a new Monorail system, with station and snack bar in all its glory  Quote

I hope it is indeed a remake of Airport shuttle and is a new Monorail system, with station and snack bar in all its glory  Well the truck stop idea was based on seeing all the trucks etc., comming this year and the information supplied to me by various sources. Now you might have hit something on the head, a remake of the airport shuttle from the early 90's that would make sense as we have a new airport this year as to new rail systems including a taxi too. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Ferdik Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) I don't think it'll be the old monorail. I remember Lego reps in the past saying that there probably won't ever be new monorail sets because: a) they lost the track molds in a fire, and b) the company that made the motors went out of business. Now, that's not to say that TLC couldn't decide to recreate the molds and to find another vendor to supply the motors. However, the impression I got was that that was pretty unlikely. My pet theory is that it'll be an elevated train using the 4-wide track that was introduced in the Temple of Doom set. Let's hope for a remake. I don't like the Doom track. Especially not the slopes. But perhaps it comes with other slopes for larger trains...whatever we get this is exciting! I hope it is indeed a remake of Airport shuttle and is a new Monorail system, with station and snack bar in all its glory  You're welcome, Macoco! I totally agree with you that (although I personally would have prefered the City Square) the Public Transport - esp. if we will get an elevated train - will/would be the option which will/would sell the most since the most adult City/Train fans (me of course included) want a new elevated train so much. The Truck Stop is in comparison a set which would attract many JFOLs, too. So where is then the necessarity to sell it as an Exclusive and not as a regular set?! And the City Square could either be released next year or the year after next year as an Exclusive - or it could be devided up in several parts (clverly combined with elements that attract JFOLs' interests (e. g. bank, security transport, banker, security officer, passant(s) and bank robber) which could be sold as regular sets, too. I, too, really hope that we'll see a remake of the classic Airport Shuttle. It is that  ! When I firstly saw it in a catalogue in the internet some years ago I simply wanted to have it. But the prices you have to pay for it ... And now I'm really happy that I did not save my money for months and years to buy this set since the possible new one will surely fit much better in style and size with the current City sets. Let's hope for a remake. I don't like the Doom track. Especially not the slopes. But perhaps it comes with other slopes for larger trains...whatever we get this is exciting! I totally agree with you concerning the tracks of the Temple of Doom, Ferdik. Since TLG is releasing cars in different sizes (six studs wide for trucks and four studs wide for regular cars) I do not think that the new elevated train will be only four studd wide. It surely will be six studs wide (like all the regular trains, too). And the Temple of Doom tracks are only for four studs wide trains anyway. But I don't think that they'll make any new molds for it. Since the set will (after the rumors) be around 100 Euros it would be much too costly to make some new molds only for this set. Like already mentioend, I bet that the new elevated train will be really "only" an elevated train - meaning it will run on one upper level with two stations above the street - and the tracks wll simply be the regular RC/PF tracks with pillars below them. lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Folks, I received an email from TRU Australian HQ with my question originally sent to the TRU USA, here's part off the reply.... Quote "Please be informed that the item with the code provided is definitely called "Lego City Public Transport". This is due to arrive in Australia sometime in August." Unquote. Now all we need to know is what we have trying to guess at - what will it contain ? I have been given a contact at TRU I can deal with and hopefully tomorrow I'll place a call to and try to obtain some more information. I will keep everyone posted here in this forum. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! With these now three confirmations I think we can be really sure that the PTC made it. So the only problem now is that we have too wait (supposably very long) til we get some more information or even pics. If it's going to be released in June/July/August I suppose that pics won't come up before May. Klaus-Dieter Edited March 11, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
