Cwetqo Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 LEGO Truck is now on S@H: http://shop.lego.com/Product/Default.aspx?p=3221 Quote
wooootles Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Sorry, item is not available in this country: United States. So, will this be unbuyable in USA like the rest of the 2010 Airport sets? If so then I am disappoint. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 So, will this be unbuyable in USA like the rest of the 2010 Airport sets? If so then I am disappoint. Iam sure we will be geting it as well as the Airport sets just later then Europe. Quote
gunm Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 So, will this be unbuyable in USA like the rest of the 2010 Airport sets? If so then I am disappoint. No, both the Airport sets and this one will be available in the US, just a little bit later than Europe. In fact, the Airport set listings are up on TRU US right now (albeit not yet orderable). Look for these to start appearing with other sets around June timeframe. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Two things - 1. 3221 is not available for Australia yet - dam it ! 2. Why does the description speak of delivering to an airport, what are we getting another cargo plane next year ? No words in the tune of freight train or toyshop for that matter ! I'm a conformist! ! Mirandir Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 2. Why does the description speak of delivering to an airport, what are we getting another cargo plane next year ? No words in the tune of freight train or toyshop for that matter ! I'm a conformist! ! Well, there were a cargo plane out not long ago. I'm pretty sure it can still be found in some toystores. And I believe they don't mention the train because it's not released yet. Regarding no mention of a toy store is because this isn't the TRU set. This will be available for all stores. Quote

Right now we know there is another toy store comming - there is an image of one in the city/town square voting option if memory serves me correct - this is not making much sense - why then is TRU getting it's own truck - if public transport is the winner ? TRU have not emailled me back, I guess a phone call is in order. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Mirandir Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I'm guessing all three sets will be TRU exclusives. Neither of them is in the retailer catalogue that I've looked in. Which suggests they are either exclusives for TRU and/or S@H or that they aren't being released until next year. Quote

Which suggests they are either exclusives for TRU and/or S@H or that they aren't being released until next year. I have been told of master catalogue with all the sets for that year is used only by Lego sales reps'. So these things would be all in this catalogue, in my opinion all three designs were going to be made anyway, the voting was must have been to decide which to release first. It does take time to plan a new product, prototype it, cost it, etc., it's naturally not done in a few weeks, more like a year or more, so all 3 were on the cards. Can't wait to see the proof of the three puddings ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 So all the three options of the poll will be released?! I, too, think more that the toy shop will be included in the City Square than in the Truck Stop set. That there shall be a TRU truck in addition to the toy shop, is no counter argument for getting a truck stop nevertheless since the 8404 City Public Transportation will include a truck, too. And like I already mentioned: Since legomilk only posted the pics of the truck stop and the public transportaion center here, I bet and fear that we'll see the third option - namely the city square - firstly next year. Rick Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 So all the three options of the poll will be released?! That's all based on guesses... I'm guessing all three sets will be TRU exclusives. So these things would be all in this catalogue, in my opinion all three designs were going to be made anyway, the voting was must have been to decide which to release first. ... the only thing that has been more or less officially confirmed in the 8404 Public Transportation Center. Moreover, a lot of the highlights in the artwork for option 1 was already released and all the trucks in option 3 have also been released by now. The only thing that hasn't been released yet is the tram (and the monorail) in option 2. Quote

Well someone has some information that we don't have and besides NOT all the trucks in the truck stop image have been made, the red one leaving the truck wash hasn't yet - neither a TRUCK WASH and it's fuel pumps are the kind you do find at a truck stop have yet to produced. Is it possible that we will get one exclusive set each year, who knows ? I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Just to let you all know, I have sent an email to TRU in the US, asking a few questions - all to do with this dam exclusive stuff - someone has to say something !! I keep everyone posted about it. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Mirandir Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 That's all based on guesses... Oh, I'm pretty confident they will be released. Just not if it's this year or next year. The guess was that they would all be TRU exclusives. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Refering to legomilk's post on page 114, 8404 and 7848 will both be released this year. And even think about that the last two years we always had one exclusive 10xxx City set (2008: 10184 Town Plan, 2009: 10199 Winter Toy Shop). Although I highly doubt it, this may even be the case this year, too, and so the City Square might be the 10xxx City Exclusive for this year (10214 or 10215). Klaus-Dieter Quote

Night City Dream Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Thanks for pointing it out, but *DANG!* you're too late (by 70 posts (or 5 days) to be exact). Probably he meant that it appeared at the Brickset for the first time. But it's strange that there's a photo of the box there rather that that of the set. Quote

Superkalle Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) The cargo train looks the best too me. And...new part spotted (I think): 2x2 Wedge brick / cut corner (same as this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30505 but 2x2). You can see it in the front of the cargo and passagner train. EDIT: what about that inverted slope piece in the front train (under the new wedge brick). Is that new too? Edited May 6, 2010 by Superkalle Quote
gunm Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Aw yeah! Finally some nice hi-res shots. I mean, I was interested even with the blurrier, small shots, but I'm totally sold now. I really want the Cargo Train, but that Passenger Train is also really nice. Argh, so many Legos, so little money. Quote
Aanchir Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Love the "City News" on the Train Station set. "New Truck in Town"... and we thought that the LEGO boxes inside the LEGO truck were as meta as LEGO was planning to get! Quote
ZO6 Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Those pictures just made my day! I'm finally going to be jumping on board train collecting, and I look forward to picking up these sets more than anything else this year. I'm honestly very happy with how all the sets look and I won't have anything nagging at my conscience (such as "I know you really want to collect trains, but these are lacking") when I go to buy these. Instead I'll be thinking "Gee, these kits are an amazing introduction to the train world. I'm in love!" The train station has lots of lovely details, and it's been quite a lot of years since we've had a design with the walkway over the tracks. The taxi is a bonus. The passenger train is simple but attractive looking. I'm sooo glad they've gone back to a brick built front and back as opposed to those large molded pieces used in the previous version. The cargo train is . I love everything about it - the engine, Octan tank, box car, and bed for the little cars. The crane and truck are great additions for added playability. Bring on the trains!
