I'm really excited about this new line next year, but not for more Fire sets.

LEGO has done, what, 3 waves in the past 4 years?

But I can't wait to see what LEG comes up for with the piglets and tractor. :sweet:

City Runabouts should be good too, but it may be just like City Minifigure Collection, which will be rather disappointing to me.

Good points there by Joebot and Legoist - my thoughts precisely. Can't agree more about the obvious difference in quality between city structures and vehicles in the last few years.

As to the new sets - another "brand new" fire station? I won't even bother checking, every single town / world city / city fire station has been looking exactly the same to me, ever since the 80s. After the wonderful 10197 Fire Brigade set (which btw is the _only_ fire station my city will ever have), I don't think we can judge TLG for anything ;)

Now, as to the fireboat - you guys have pointed out most of its flaws and that is definitely one of the most absurd sets not just in terms of how close it comes to reality (which seems to be a bit too important to us AFOLs), but also in terms of playability. Just by the looks of it, it looks most unstable and anything else but solid... They could have put much less parts in it and yet made it so much more fun! Putting too much of everything on top really wasn't a good idea and the good old '90s 4031 firefighter boat is still light years ahead in terms of sheer quality. I'm not really certain that kids would like this one, let alone AFOLs... but that might just be me.

I think I really like that new fire station! I haven't bought the 07 version, but I don't think I have to regret that when I look at that picture. It looks very good, and it will go nice with the 05 fire truck (which is the best one in my opinion). I love all the big amount of windows and glass pieces. I saw a garbage truck today that had a front window like a bus, and I joked to my mother in the car all the trucks will have huge windows within a few years. Seems like LEGO is also following this trend!

the last fire station was great.

this one not so much

it seems like a step back for lego city.

there is a good reason lego makes these sets.

the fire stations are the best selling lego set (i read that somewhere)

the boat looks exactly the same to me..

hope that the second wave of 2010 there will be some civilian sets.

i think lego city reached a new high in 2008-2009 and now its going back down again..

lets hope for the best...

LEGO has done, what, 3 waves in the past 4 years?

Try three waves in 7 years, 2004, 2007 and 2010, it's always every 3 years because the children love them or something.

Or in the last 11 years there have been four fire stations and then this year's super fire station.

I think my main complaint isn't that the building is the same, it's the vehicles are. I think they should skip on the jeep, because it's exactly the same as always, and include a helicopter and landing pad!

Oh yeah and some side walls would be nice.

Is it just me, or is there also a smaller ladder included in the fire station, beside the station?

I for one am not too impressed by these first images of the sets. The fire station looks like a re-arranged version of 7945, with a slightly different ladder truck (speaking of which, why can't they include something other than that, like a pumper, rescue, or squad?), and another small car that looks like a mix between a Ford Grand C-Max and a Peugeot BB1 Concept. That's not a good thing. I do like the potentially new fire net, and all the windows included. Even the slight design change to a more modern-esque type fire truck is welcome, though.

Now for the boat. It looks terrible. The hull looks very much like a patchwork of misshapen pieces, and looks way too top heavy. The boom looks like it was stuck on to "justify" the price. I think that for a few more bucks, the should've made some sort of simple pump, considering they advertise it floats and should be played with in the water. I'm not really sure what more there is to say about this one, other than, like 7906, I won't be getting it.

The firestation I'll consider, though it's unlikely with the atlantis sets and, depending on what the others look like, the other city sets.

*Those are all just my opinions, if you have a different opinion, I would like to hear it as well.

if you want my opinion, i think that if you took the 2007 fire station and the 2010 station, put them on a large grey baseplate, and moved some parts around you could have 1 really nice fire station instead of two "cheesy" ones. And remember, the city theme is directed to young children and TFOLs like me, not AFOLs. (Although some of them like the sets.)

Tractor and pigs! Great! :classic:

btw: I think this is the link whung is talking about in the previous post. Big set list with some small pre-lim images, most of which we have not seen before.

edit: hmm, that direct link doesn't seem to work. Perhaps obvious, but you have to click the "Chystané novinky 2010 >>" link at the right of the page.

Another set with new animals

They should make a set with animals only: 2 black&white cows, 2 brown cows, 2 pigs, 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 rat... I bet this would be sold out.

I know, that's why I said it was my opinion. Oh, and I too am a TFOL .

7684 looks great, a Deutz Fahr coloured tractor!

The tractor design looks nice and chunky, the colour excellent, the trailor does not look bad either, the enclosure seems to have an interesting fence (new vertical fence?) Very impressed.

The pigs will be a bonus, they look quite similar to the design of Lego Cows (unlike the Horse, but nice and pink!). I can't wait for bigger pictures for a closer look at our little Bacon Making Friends.

A great idea Legoist, i'm sure an Animal Pack would sell well with both the Kids and Adults. I would deffinetly jump at the chance to buy a Farm Battle Pack!

You will also have a set that is most likely the same price as the massive Fire Station from this year.

The pig set is nice, but with the LEGO Farm pricing I'm thinknig $50+. :hmpf:

I'm guessing the road plates will just be re-released of the ones that are out now, Which isn't bad I need some and I like the current design. :classic:

Whats a traveler? Better not be another caravan... :hmpf_bad:

Here are the ones I think sound interesting

7567 Traveler

:oh: Is this going to be like the camper?

Maybe an RV or something?

3177 Small Car

I am again thinking like the sports car but different

3179 Vehicle Repair

Probably going to be a garage set

3181 Airliner

3182 Airport

I hope these are actually going to be decent then I will like them, but not before

7684 and the tractor shed

Is this the pig set? Thanks for the picture its awesome

7566 Farmer

8683 Minifigurky

*huh* ? I think these might be impulse sets

This isn't sounding or looking as bad as I had first thought

i love the set with the pigs but i think its gonna be a bit expensive seeing how big it is...

i was hoping for something smaller so that i can get the pigs as cheap as possible..

oh well i dont mind having a tractor..

and the pigs would look great with the market village!!

Well, in my opinion 2010 fire sets is a total disappointment. And boat is a very close copy of 7739 coast guard boat, even the top.

But on the other side, its not great for me because i already have 2007 fire station.

Piglets set is a little boring as it presents the same - a fench and a tractor. Why not add something more different? We already have 2 tractors.

Thank you very much for the link to the sets list, whung, and for the link to the picture of the set with the piglets, Rick! :classic:

 Ok so where is the fire truck with boat and the fire helicopter in all this? :'(

I'm sure that the Fire Helicopter and Fire Truck With Boat will surely be released in January, too, Capt. Tavares, although they aren't on this list. The road plates are only additional stuff but no real sets. So there would only be three sets for January - the Fire HQ, the Fire Boat and the Traveler - and that's really too less for one complete wave. :classic:

To the Farmer, Traveler and Minifigure sets:

I bet that these - at least the Farmer and the Traveler - will be Impulse sets.

The name Minifigure doesn't let us know what it'll be - perhaps a train worker since it was rumoured that we'll get new train sets in summer. Or it might be another minifigure collection like this January.

They should make a set with animals only: 2 black&white cows, 2 brown cows, 2 pigs, 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 rat... I bet this would be sold out.

I can well imagine that the Farmer set will include a farmer, a pig and some tools.

Or a farmer, a hare or two brick-built chicken and a small stable - that would be  !

7567 Traveler

:oh: Is this going to be like the camper?

Maybe an RV or something?

I bet that the Traveler will be an Impulse set.

But I don't know what it might include - perhaps a traveler, two suitcases and a bicycle or another bench, a train clock, ...?

Another camper would make no sense since the last one was firstly released in this year's June.

The Piglets Enclosure With Tractor looks awesome!

I'm surprised that it is such a big set with two minifigures, a big enclosure with some accessory and even three or four piglets! The tractor with fork and the hanger look great, too!

This isn't sounding or looking as bad as I had first thought

I totally agree with you, Macoco!

This list does now include a lot more interesting sets than the only Fire and Airport sets of which we had information before!

May I just say something? These sets are still 4 months away, at least! Why all the comotion? Yes, while it's nice to see what the sets are like, what's wrong with suprises?

It's hardly like your going to die before they're released, surely?

I just stumbled onto a pic of the new fire station set 7208 on Brickshelf, and my first gut reaction was, "Juniorization"! When I took a closer look, the vehicles seemed pretty detailed; it's just that the building is all windows and transparent garage doors (a very easy build it seems). It also looks like the firemen were rescuing a kitty with a trampoline/safety net (possibly a new piece).

The fireboat 7207 doesn't look too hot either. Since I have the 2007 version of both sets, I would consider buying them only if they're on sale.
