Whittleberry Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Wow, this deluge of High Res pics is exciting! Can't wait to get my mits on the public transport set and building set. Although I am a bit disappointed about all the stickers in the PT set; those postcards are so numerous and tiny that it wouldn't have been a bad idea to print them. I don't think I'll be using any of the stickers in the set. The tram's wheels look like the tiny ones from the Indy minecart set, so the tram will have to be modded quite a bit to be powered. Looks like it'll be L-gauge though. Also it got sort of lost in the rush of comments, but just2good has found a new impulse: It looks awesome. I'll pick up at least two for the mdblue suitcase and what appears to be a printed phone slope. Quote
Rick Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Also it got sort of lost in the rush of comments, but just2good has found a new impulse: I think this was determined to be fake, since it carries the same set number as the new City House. Quote

What, what, what ??? IF the set was a real set, I would call it mediocre! There is nothing special about it! No unusual bricks, just plain and boring. Think about what the set would look like if they had used this or a transparent cabin. Sorry, but sometimes I get the feeling there's too much cheering around here about 'new' sets. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I was browsing the American TRU site this morning, and came across something interesting. First of all, the TRU truck now has an entry ($39.99), but is listed as out of stock. Not surprising, I'm sure they've just activated the page so that when the inventory is there the .JSP files are linked and ready to do business. The interesting find came further down on the second page, where there is now a link for City Train Station for $44.99. The problem is, the picture is for the 2007 Train Station set 7997, instead of the new one with the stairs on either side of the track. They even put the green 'New' graphic on the corner of the image. See for yourself. My guess is whoever's processing the graphics for the web page was thrown for a fast one, or perhaps they keep all of the images in a database and they used the same name for the 07 version as the new one. Either way, I'd expect someone to catch it, but certainly threw me for a loop on a warm Monday morning. Quote
legoguy3181 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) wow! Edit by WhiteFang: You don't have to quote so many images in a post. Hey look at this http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/2010 Edited June 29, 2010 by WhiteFang Removed the entire chunk of quoted images Quote
MetroiD Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Hey... Please refrain from quoting posts with multiple pictures in them. Thanks! Quote
GRogall Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) To legoguy3181 Not sure what you are trying to convey in your post!? But when quoting please don't include the images. also if you want to see what has been released in 2010 you might head over to Brickset 2010 where you will get pictures of all the sets. Night City Dream Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 How do you think, how many pieces will 8404 contain? Will it be the biggest CITY set by pieces? Now it's 7744 (973) and 7642 (953), and I don't actually remember any TOWN / WORLD CITY / CITY set that would contain 1000+ pieces. Quote
just2good Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Public Transport is listed on TRU.ca, but it says it's sold out. Quote
MetroiD Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 ...I don't actually remember any TOWN / WORLD CITY / CITY set that would contain 1000+ pieces. Off the top of my head, I recall that the 6542 Seaport had over 1000 pieces... Probably the best Seaport TLG have ever made ;) P.S.: But I don't think the new TRU Exclusive will have more than 600-700 bricks at best. Still, it does look good! Quote
Sammael Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) Supposedly, the new sets are available at a local toy store in Sarajevo, Bosnia. I am mildly skeptical, but we're supposed to get prices tomorrow. We'll see. Edited June 28, 2010 by Sammael Quote
Piranha Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) Thank you Grogall so much for these nice pics damn LEGO for making such awesome sets and now making me want to buy them with the even more tempting high res pictures and little minifig arrangements and not to mention the little postcards in the store with palm trees and a setting sun. btw nice board upgrade even if I am a little late Edited June 29, 2010 by Macoco Quote
Whittleberry Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I think this was determined to be fake, since it carries the same set number as the new City House. Oh, that's a shame. It's a good fake. Well it's an impulse with a decent build and uncommon parts. What more can you expect from an impulse? Cypress trees? Quote
Holodoc Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Well it's an impulse with a decent build and uncommon parts. What uncommon part? The decorated slope that was available in 10 sets before? I can hardly see any other uncommon part. What more can you expect from an impulse? Cypress trees? Good call! I'd certainly love that! Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I think it's time to go back to discussing the acutal sets. Since 10216 Winter Village Bakery will be released at October 1st, I could well imagine that 8404, 8403 and 7848 will be released in the middle of this month at S@H. That the tram includes small train wheels is on the one hand good for those which want to let it run on real tracks and on the other good for those who want to let it use like a reguar car (the only problem might be that the small train wheels scratch the road plates - don't you think?). Mr. Elijah Timms Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Hey guys, just had to share with my EB friends-- pulled the trigger last night on the TRU BoGo 50% sale-- the new airport and the construction site, and paid less than $150 USD for both of them together!! A few weeks back I revealed my plans to wait on the airport for the potential 50% sale and asked for advice on what set to go with, and it definitely paid off... So, Lightning Tiger and others, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me out. Love the construction site, and I've already built the little digger and the transport truck. Great addition to my budding new city. Sounds cheesy, but this is a great example of how EuroBricks, as a community, can be such a great asset. Thanks again! Piranha Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I think the middle carriage in the tram is far too short and I fail to see how it would be viable in my town. Extensive modification to make it motorized and run on above ground track anyway. The only solution would be a base plate with track inbed and I can only see a circle layout working. Guess it is best left as a display only because a Tram is cool anyway I still think it is an unfortunate event that we got what we did with what was potentially out there but oh well Quote
Eilif Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 As usual, I'm late for the party, but thanks for the new pics. The 8404 train is just what I've been looking for as a base model for converting to monorail. Since I'd have to mod it anyway to fit the monorail, the question is whether to buy it, or just build it from the parts I have? Decisions, decisions... Quote

Sorry, I forgot about 6542 but it seems to me this maybe the only set with over 1000 pieces? The set is marvelous but pity that boats can't float. As for 84046 I'm quite sure it will contain over 900 pieces as most of them are tiny. Just remember Garage 7642. Before its release I couldn't imagine it would contain so many pieces - 953 officially (I counted 982 in total). I think the piece situation with 8404 is pretty much the same. I think it's time to go back to discussing the acutal sets.
