Its a dream, but I wish that ToyrRus/Lego Truck set gets recolored into a Target truck.

So we'd have three identical just recolored city sets?

A Target truck...change the blue to red......the shop would have to be bigger.....or not....we do have smaller Target Country branded stores in of the country in Australia. (Now there's an idea eh ?)

Besides that it seems like with cafe corner following up to now - more interior detail so to the TRU shop and the house......we started with the building in construction site with no interior, city corner pizza shop with very basic interior and now a house with furniture and a shop full of stock !

I don't see what all of the fuss is about. Every module of these sets consistently uses three main colors-- white, dark gray, and red. So there's nothing wrong with the color scheme itself. Where it falls apart is the organization, and even there it's not so much ugly as simply unrealistic.

Besides, the point of this illustration isn't to show that you're constrained to these alternate models, but rather that you have complete liberty over what your buildings will look like. So there's no problem with the array of options being essentially randomized.

I called my local (Munich) TRU today, and was told that this set as well as 8404

will be available on the 10th of July! :thumbup:

Yesterday I went to Switzerland, 7848 and 8404 are available at TRU Luzern and TRU Zurich East (Dietlikon).

No available at TRU Zurich West (Spreitenbach)

7848 = 50 chf (37,50 eur)

8404 = 160 chf (120,00 eur)

Right now, I'm considering to take a train to Mönchengladbach and have a look over there. Does anybody know if the Toys R us over there sell this set?

Regarding the interchangeable building levels, great idea, and a great way to add inter-playability for the kids. But, speaking from someone who just picked up the Construction Site a few weeks ago, it IS a pretty ugly building. As far as I'm concerned, why taint other structures by fuzing them together with elements of the BIG GRAY BLAH!!!

Well judging by the tram body being 6 wide, then yes it will run on the standard 6 wide train track.

Apologies if I was the one who responded in a way you considered rude, but the truth is we did see clearly in the images how it's compatible with regular LEGO train tracks. It uses these wheels, the type that are used in the minecarts in the Dwarves' Mine and the Indiana Jones Temple of Doom set. They're mostly concealed by these brackets.

Regrettably, though, that means that it can't be motorized without major modifications-- despite how that piece appears, a Technic axle can't attach to it, eliminating the possibility of using Power Functions, and using larger train wheels would certainly raise the tram up and keep it from looking quite so attractive. So I doubt you could motorize it and still maintain its low-to-the-ground profile.

Today, I went on a daytrip by train (from Utrecht Netherlands to Mönchengladbach Germany; I know I'm crazy) and I got the 8404 Public transport set at TRU over there . Tommorow, I'll upload pics and write a review of this set.

I am thinking of turnng it into a cable car. Straight track across my town with mindstorm touch switches at each end. Powered by an old Mindstorms box. Loop of string attached to tram going to hidden end pulley wheels at each end. That way you wont have to alter tram.

Yes, why didn't I think of that, thanks 'Allan' a cable tram, yes with the cable running under the base board like trams or cable cars as those in the U.S. call them back over a hundred years ago.

Dam it might be easy mechanically to do too !

I might sit down and draw up plans, but then I'll have till wait for 8404 to hit the shores of Oz.

Just a quick word folks, I just check some TRU sites and Canada's TRU have dropped all the train sets and even it's public transport exclusive ?

In the US - both exclusives are listed as 'out of stock'.

I really like the Police raft, mainly because I love the raft piece. And it includes the new hat in white!

As for the others, the plane is wierd (I'll give TLC credit, it is a new-ish promo idea) and the Police buggy is nothing we haven't seen before...

So, so, but nice sets for the small amount of pieces. The new cap mold was bound to appear in white somewhere sometime. Does this mean a new police line for 2011? Looks like they skip hospital/ambulance then. So is it just Police, Fire, Police, Fire, ... from now on?
