tin7_creations Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 (edited) the army men seems to be the smallest set of the theme... i hope it's within the $1X range... i wouldn't mind buying a few of these if they were. Edited September 13, 2009 by tin7 Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Just a guess but I'm thinking the army men will be $13USD. Quote
tin7_creations Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Just a guess but I'm thinking the army men will be $13USD. i assumed so. cause the Cairo Ambush set for Indy has the same content (4 figs plus two built objects)...is around $13.99CAD... Quote
Oky Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I was at the D23 Expo today, and I have a couple more pics of LEGO Toy Story and Prince of Persia that you guys have seen already. It never hurts to have more, right? Absolutely not! Thanks for the pics, dragonboy79! Looks like there is a specialized piece on Zurg's head after all, but most of his head is still brick-built. Why do you guys think that the Army Men will be 13 USD? Both the Star Wars BPs and Ambush in Cairo are 10.99 USD, so why would this be any different? Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Toy soldiers Battlepack has the same price as Cairo Marketplace in Germany, so I would assume 9,99 to 10,99US$. Other german prices: Lego 7590 - Toy Story RC Car with Woody and Buzz - 19,99€ / 19,99 to 24,99$ Lego 7591 - Toy Story Zurg - 26,99€ / 24,99$ Lego 7592 - Toy Story Buzz - 26,99€ / 24,99$ Lego 7593 - Toy Story Buzz' Star Command-spaceship - 39,99€ / 39,99$ Lego 7594 - Toy Story Woody's Round-up! - 59,99€ / 49,99 to 59,99$ Lego 7595 - Toy Story Green toy soldiers - 13,99€ / 10,99$ US prices are assumed. I compared the Euro prices to same costing sets from S@H and looked how much they were on US S@H. Quote
Etzel Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks for the information about the prices, Navy Trooper Fenson! I guess I will be able to get the Green Toy Soldiers and maybe Woody's Round-up (lots of good parts in great colours but the minifigs are holding me back). The rest I don't care about I rather save my money for the PoP theme which seems to be epic Quote
Dunjohn Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Hmm, not too gone on the the giant Zurg anymore. I didn't think the body would just be two purple cylinders. Will probably acquire the RC and giant Buzz sets. Maybe the army men if I have funds left. Quote
Thee Pirate Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I can't wait for POP!!! ..and thanks for better pics of the Toy Story sets. Woody's Round up looks like a set I'll have to keep my eyes on. I'm always looking for brown. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 The Star Wars sets are $10, the new IJ set is $11, so I think $11 to $13 is about what it will be, it looks better than IJ set. Quote
saberwing Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Toy story was my favorite movie as a kid, and I love these new set! (Apart from the the flick-fire laser on the giant buzz. ) I was so looking forward to the giant buzz until I saw the "laser". Another disappointing thing is Zurg's lower body. It looks way to simple if you compare it too buzz. Quote
Oky Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Toy soldiers Battlepack has the same price as Cairo Marketplace in Germany, so I would assume 9,99 to 10,99US$. Other german prices: SNIP Thanks for the info, Fenson, but where did you get those prices from? I would be very happy if the "Constraction Figures" will really be only $25! But $40 for the spaceship? That seems too much for a set that seems to mostly consist of a big windshield, a big round airplane roof piece, and some plates. Oh well, we'll see. I find it odd how most people who like the LEGO Toy Story line are huge fans of LEGO Star Wars. Well, there are certain similarities. Quote
Rick Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Are those 2 x 4 tiles being used on those signs?! Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Thanks for the info, Fenson, but where did you get those prices from? A toy retailer and I hope too that he mistyped with the star-command price, but I didn´t manage to contact him now about this. Quote
Oky Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Are those 2 x 4 tiles being used on those signs?! Unlikely. They're probably just 2x2's connected by a 2x2 plate in the back. Quote
Rick Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 (edited) Unlikely. They're probably just 2x2's connected by a 2x2 plate in the back. What about the sheriff's sign then? There is a clear 'break' between studs 4 and 5, but nothing between studs 2 and 3 and studs 6 and 7. So they must be four 1 x 4 tiles then, where two 1 x 8 tiles would have made more sense. Furthermore I don't see an indication on the left and right sides of either the sheriff or jail sign that it is made up of 1 x X tiles. (But I agree, there's too little detail to give a definitive answer) Edited September 13, 2009 by Rick Quote

So far, this is looking like there will be some very useful parts in this theme. Thanks Lego! Quote
Dunjohn Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 The "Wanted" poster outside the sheriff's door looks like a 2x4 tile too. That'd be pretty unstable if it were a pair of 2x2s. Quote
YG-49 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Note the brick-built cactus on the 'Round Up. LEGO got a leetle bit lazy there. I would of prefered a sticker than that. Quote
