Only 25 more days until the official release. I never thought the wait would end.

The Wild West set I thought it was confirmed at $60 a few months back, guess it were rumored price.

A price is not really confirmed until it is for sale, most of the time.

It seems like Woody's Round-Up is the next Solar Sailor; the price is now at $54.99. I wonder what the official LEGO price will be, and I hope that it being on the TRU site means it will be up on LEGO.com soon, just as the Atlantis sets were up shortly after they were on the TRU website.

By the looks of Buzz's spaceship is very close to the styling of classic space Lego, yep this one's on the shopping list as well as Woody's Roundup - my son can not wait for January !

I can't wait so I can post a picture of Vader vs Lightyear and I wonder then if Woody will save the day ?

Thanks for the new pics! I'll update the index and first post shortly

The "maxifigs" and the horse look  .

I have to agree with Klaus-Dieter here. Those heads are way too big and can't use any normal minifigure headgear or under head accessories. Plus, no one has addressed the fact that those heads will look ridiculous next to normal minifigures, and that they are so specialized that I'd like to see a halfway decent use of them (and their oh so ugly pants, too) in something that has nothing to do with Toy Story. I mean come on LEGO, noses and huge heads? Bleh! Why must we stray away from the good, old fashion minifigure design? Indy, Spongebob, Batman, Prince of Persia, and all the other licensed themes had noses (and all the characters had different heights in their respective shows, too!), yet LEGO saw no need to make over-specialized heads with noses and ears, plus those useless cartoon hats which are much too big for normal minifigure heads. :vader:

Before you start defending Toy Story, please give me a decent use of that gargantuan Woody head, or Buzz's jet pack and head in something that has absolutely NO relation to Toy story..

I don't need reminding how Woody needs to be taller than Buzz, because Mutt in Indiana Jones was shorter than Indy but they both had normal legs. Same for Star Wars! Why is Toy story given a damn exception? Because Disney bribed LEGO into doing it. :hmpf:

I think the thing with the figs is, that if you like Toy Story, you will probably love them to pieces for their accuracy and attention to detail.

If you're not interested in Toy Story, then I think people find them a little too different from standard figs to be really appealing.

I don't imagine the license is geared to pleasing non-Toy Story fans - and why should it be? - and I imagine that with such an iconic brand, Disney probably had pretty firm ideas about how they wanted their characters represented.

While I understand your explanation, no one has taken on my question:

My point is that Lego doesn't care if you can use these pieces elsewhere - Toy Story fans will love the accuracy and detail, and they will be the ones purchasing the sets.

And as many people have already expressed, other figs such as the green army men or the little alien will be useful to them in military or space-themed ways.

Look at it this way - in Star Wars, you can't use Darth Vader's helmet for anything apart from Darth Vader, but this doesn't seem to upset most Star Wars fans

I was referring to Buzz, Woody, Jesse, that short weird guy, and Zurg. They are bleh!

But Darth Vader's Helmet is a piece of headgear, not a head, .

IMO, the only good sets in this range will be the Green Army Men on Patrol and [Hopefully not Maxifig-scale :hmpf: ] the Western Train.

I agree they are generally not as useful but perhaps some talented MOCer will do something amazing with them

I wish we'd get some new Prince of Persia pics! Maybe those not so interested in Toy Story would feel better if they could see there was at least one decent minifig scale licensed line next year! (That includes me.)

Legoliner Pilot, I don't understand why you are coming back to say the exact same thing as what you said, and many people (including me) responded to, back on page 28. You asked the exact same thing about "Give me one good use of the heads outside the theme…" and it was answered well. I read one time on this site, or Brothers Brick, or somewhere, that there will always be someone who finds a unique use for any piece, no matter what it is, even if you or I can't think of it right now.

I suppose you're the kind of person that likes to MOC, since you seem to be hung up on using the pieces for other themes. So sure, in your case of a MOCer the sets with big heads aren't so great (although I can still see the heads being used in some funny vignettes, or toy shop mocs, or plenty of other comical uses). But for other people, they care about buying and displaying the sets, or creating Toy Story themed MOCs (which I know you would never dare do after your clear hate for all things Disney), so these heads are great. I don't buy sets so that I can immediately take apart the mfs and build my own, I like to keep the mfs and sets together. So I have absolutely no problem with cartoony and finely accurate big head mold that perfectly fit the line.

And the long legs, well, that's just the same as the short legs, except they're longer, not shorter.

I hope sometime you could show us a MOC incorporating Squidward's newest large head (with a nose, I might add) and a Plo Koon head or Mr. Krabs head or two, since those must be so easy and obvious to use in MOCs.

No one answered me a decent use of those head pieces, so I came back and asked again.

I'm sorry, but I'm not biased towards Disney. Do I have to be? No. I have the fairest right to an opinion, and I feel you are insulting me by shoving the fact that I do not like Disney down my throat. :sceptic: It seems like anyone who complains about Disney on the Internet is harassed and insulted. I don't have to like Disney, it isn't required by law, and I never will. I rest my complete case. I shall say no more about it.

Also, I could use Squidward's head in a MOC, thank you very much, but the problem is that I own the ORIGINAL Squidward head! Oh, and for the reference: Mr. Krabs head, in my eyes, could have an excellent use in an Atlantis MOC. By the way, who the heck is Plo Koon?

No, I thought the TS sets were shown at a LEGO show and had the official prices there. Kind of like the Toy Fairs in the up coming months.

Cool! Thanks for that, EDGE. :classic: Now the set is almost complete, with only Build-A-Zurg missing. Time to update that first post again, Svelte.

Buzz' head could be the tip of a purple spaceship.

His jetpack could be the body of a robot or part of a Power Miners hardsuit.

The heads from Woody's Round Up with flick-fire missiles under them could be baloons sold at a carnival.

Happy now?

Sounds a lot like you are quite biased toward it to me. :sceptic: In a negative way that is. But whatever.

By the way, who the heck is Plo Koon?

This guy.

So, to you, it's OK if a useless piece is headgear, but not if it's a head?

Okay, so I think the green solider pack will be about $20au, sounds about right - just like a Star Wars battle pack.

Woody's Round-Up, a must get - might be around the $80au mark.

No idea on the Duplo range of Toy Story - I have a little great-niece to buy for her birthday next year, she would love a cowgirl ?

Sweet. Now we have all of them. Thanks again, EDGE!

Any chance you could get us some pics of the Toy Story 3 sets too?

Thanks for the info Legomilk. I'm guessing those prices are for Germany? And I'm also guessing Zurg will be the same price as Buzz? (Why is he always left out, I wonder? :look: )

Are you sure about that date? It would seem strange that Germany gets these in March whereas the US gets these already in January. :sceptic:

That must be the Army Men battlepack-type set.

I'm hoping we will see these a week or two before January here in the US, even though it doesn't really make a difference.

I'm guessing he's a limited edition/ store exclusive.

Most non-US retailers don't release everything at once in Jan in stores (although sets are available from S@H) but stagger releases throughout the months. That's probably what's happening here.

The Toy Story site at LEGO is up now, not much to see yet!

ALL TOY STORY ARE NOW OUT IN US!!!!!

I got the green soldiers and R?C with Buzz and woody today at legoland discovery Woodfield. thought none were at the lego store inside the mall.

Sweet! Open 'em!

Thanks also for the prices in euro, legomilk, since that's what I use. 'Bout what I expected, except in Buzz's case, which is about €7 more than I'd been hoping :cry_sad:
