Clone OPatra Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Another interesting thing is that Hamm with the bowler hat in Western Train Chase is called "Evil Doctor Porkchops" in the TRU description. Perhaps something takes control of Hamm in Toy Story 3? That's just the name Andy uses for Hamm in Toy Story 2 when he is playing. I think it has no relation to a movie scene involving the characters, it's just a way to make a train set for LEGO the way Andy would play. I doubt Rex will be trapped with dynamite in a tiny toy train, just like the Western Town scene or the Buzz spaceship aren't really movie scenes, just tyed-in. I know the box has the confidential stamp on it, but Hamm looks like he has a monocle. It also looks like he has a bump on his head, which is support for the hat being removable. Quote
Oky Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Thanks for those descriptions, Pi! That certainly clears up a lot about what's going on in these sets. Anything about the Garbage Truck? Speaking of studs though, it's nice to see studs on Rex's back, so that you can seat a figure on there. That certainly adds playability to the Rex figure. It'll be kinda tough seating a minifig on only two studs, especially Woody & Jessie. But I know what you mean. I know the box has the confidential stamp on it, but Hamm looks like he has a monocle. I very much doubt that. I mean, why would he have one? He didn't have one in TS2, and I'm pretty sure Andy doesn't own a monocle. You're probably right, especially considering that the only time the train appears in the movie is in one little flashback, and it's not even in the same scale. Do you guys think that the inclusion of a bowler means that we could get a Mr. Potatohead after all? I could imagine that he is in the Pizza Planet Truck set. Clone OPatra Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 AH! Freaking gigantic picture! Features 402 Peices Includes 2 LEGO figures: Lotso the Bear and Twitch and 2 minifigures:Jessie and Buzz Lightyear Garbage truck features dumpster lifting function to lift and dump contents of dumpster automatically into the back, opening roof and back of the truck Product Description Jessie and Buzz Lightyear are stuck in the garbage truck and are on their way to the dump. Can they escape from the clutches of Lotso and Twitch before it's too late? Set includes Lotso, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and Twitch figures, and garbage truck hopper opens as the dumpster is lifted over the top. Seeing as one of the features is "back of the truck," that kind of says to me that it will not be the whole truck. We shall see, though. I assume Twitch is that weird purple things in the prelims of Lotso's dump truck, but who knows. About Potato head, I think we won't see him due to licensing issues. Potato head is not original to the Toy Story series, so I think we won't see him just as we won't see barbies or Slinky Dog. The army men were a toy before the Toy Story series, but I think no one ever really had a trademark on them. Quote
Reaper052 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Twitch is actually a green insect-headed action figure. Pics of him were posted a while back on a Pixar themed forum but Disney had them taken down. Personally I'm thrilled to know that we are getting a figure of him, but this means I'll have to spend more money to get the complete set. As for potato head, I doubt we will be seeing him. The best bet I think would be to MOC him. I'm currently working on building the secondary characters from the films that I don't think Lego will make, him and slinky are next on my list. Oky Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 AH! Freaking gigantic picture! Sorry. I edited it. Seeing as one of the features is "back of the truck," that kind of says to me that it will not be the whole truck. Thanks for the description. Well, "opening roof and back of the truck" sounds to me like the roof of the driver's cabin as well as the back of the truck can be opened. Simple as that. What else if not the whole truck would it be? About Potato head, I think we won't see him due to licensing issues. Potato head is not original to the Toy Story series, so I think we won't see him just as we won't see barbies or Slinky Dog. The army men were a toy before the Toy Story series, but I think no one ever really had a trademark on them. You might be right. But still, that bowler is suspicious to me... Quote
d00dz Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Indeed it will. Once you get, you should make a picture where that incinerator is filled with your LGMs, and one is being picked up by the claw, saying "I have been chosen!" Exactly what I was thinking when I saw that claw :P Quote
BlueDragonZ Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I'm guessing the USD prices will be $49.99, $99.99, $39.99. This gives us a little hint at what size the Garbage Truck set is. The western train chase will probably be $79.99 US and looks very small. Hopefully, it will be bigger than what we see in the picture. $89.99 US sets are $119.99 CAD $99.99-$119.99 US sets are $139.99-$149.99 CAD Prices don't look too good with the pieces we get But I really like Trash Compactor Escape with the little aliens, teddy bear and the pit. just2good Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Toys'R'Us Canada also says: Jessie and Buzz Lightyear are stuck in the garbage truck and are on their way to the dump. Can they escape from the clutches of Lotso and Twitch before it's too late? Set includes Lotso, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and Twitch figures, and garbage truck hopper opens as the dumpster is lifted over the top. Sorry if this discription was posted already. Quote

SuperChris Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Anyone else a tad disappointed with these sets, especially with how much they cost. I quite like the look of the claw on the set, but that's about it. Ah well, roll on Toy Fair and more pictures! Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Now I want rex in small set, I'm not going to buy a whole train for him... I think I must wait for TS3 sets... Quote
Big Cam Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Oh man, I'm going to need that giant pink bear, bricklink here I come. Thanks for the pics! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Well if I'm not going to be broke at Christmas time this year before, I will be after my son sees these pictures ! The train looks fantastic - I can see these being heavily MODed by all us Train-tech's ! The trash compactor is over the top - a must have fun play set - will Buzz save the day or is Woody doomed ? I though Woody's Round-up was the best set of the series, now I have to about it think again ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Now I want rex in small set, I'm not going to buy a whole train for him...I think I must wait for TS3 sets... Yes! We want a Rex impulse! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 The sets look horrible. $80 for a non running train? I could have gotten a working train for $90 last month. The trash set looks boring unless you need those tower pieces. Quote
Svelte Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 That Western train is beautiful - a whole lot better than the blurry pics we saw. It has a primary but great colour scheme and an amazing range of parts. More dark green windows! A wonderful classic design I like this a whole lot better than the proper City trains and I'll be sure to pick this up, then sell off the figs to subsidise the purchase The Trash Compactor looks like a fun playset - nicely detailed - but not really for me. Some parts newly in dark green will be must-haves, however. Quote
Brickus Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Thanks for the pics, it makes me more interested in the movie rather than the sets. Quote
Quarryman Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 The Trash Compactor looks like a fun playset - nicely detailed - but not really for me. Some parts newly in dark green will be must-haves, however. Those new dark green parts are what got me most excited, made me wonder if someone had gotten my birthday wrong (I've been wanting that wedge piece in dark green for five years or so ) Quote
Svelte Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Roof cabs! Support pieces! Inverse slopes! Yep, they're all good. Quote
Dunjohn Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Rex looks way the hell better than I thought he would. Though I suppose, seeing as how I already own Woody and Buzz, I shouldn't have had any doubts about the attention to detail on this line's minifigs. Both of these sets look to be out of my price range. Even if they were at a "fair" non-licenced price point, I just don't have the funds to spare this year. Pity. The compactor set looks spiffy. I like how big it looks, even though I know they cheated some bulk into it by using a lot of negative space and those tall strut pieces. That's fine by me, I love those strut parts, and the empty space makes it easier to mod. I'm already starting to reconsider just how far out of my price range this one is, hmm, if I cut out breakfast for the next few months.... Quote
LegoAlex11 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I think i spy blue markings on the back of Hamm in The Trash Compactor.Probabally because of the pre school scene and he gets crayon all over him Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 These two new toy story sets look really good! Thanks for posting the pics BlueDragonZ. I must say I really like the look of 7597. But 7956 does look good aswell. CommanderFox Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I forgot to add... Rex looks awesome! Amazing! Love Rex! Not buying him, but awesome looking. :) Quote
booga-b Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I wanna get the set just for rex and Ham! hahahah Quote
