just2good Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 OMG I want that set so badly.. Link to your flikr? Quote
Inconspicuous Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 6 pizzas?? Dang! If there is any TS sets I am getting, it's this one. Do you think it's really from Toy Story 3, or maybe from the first or second? I know it has the label, but still... I talked to the guy at the table, Apparently it's in all 3, but I'm not sure if this cast of characters is specific to the third. OMG I want that set so badly.. Link to your flikr? Flickr. I'll add some pictures of the Train in a bit. Quote
Oky Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Thanks for all the pics, guys & gals! Unfortunately I can't attend it myself because it's a bit too far away. So close and yet so far. Back: Wow! What great detail! 6 pizzas?? Dang! Well, it is a pizza delivery truck after all. That pizza shooter is quite hilarious. Is it a new piece? Also, any word on what the price is gonna be? Quote
ILikePi Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the pictures Inky! Yours are much clearer than mine. I didn't know about the pizza launcher, and I didn't get to see the set's box either, so thanks for those! I'll have my pictures of these sets up in a couple of hours. Most of the parts in both the train and truck are printed instead of stickered (the truck's stickers on the doors are stickers, but it seems like almost every other part is printed)! Under the hood of the truck is a cylinder piece (the part in the Builder impulse set) that holds the launching pizzas, and it seems that most of the train is empty on the inside, except for a box of dynamite and some controls at the caboose. There's also an interesting trap door mechanism at the top of the train section with the "$" printing on it. You pull this piece off a 1 x 2 technic brick and it falls down. Unfortunately I can't attend it myself because it's a bit too far away. So close and yet so far. Aww, that's too bad. This was my first LEGO convention, and it was quite exciting to see all these amazing MOCs and two new sets on display. Hopefully you'll be able to attend next year! ILikePi Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Sorry for the double post, but I've got pictures to share with you all! I've omitted three pics from this post because they've already been shown on Inky and Mariann's pics. Another side view of the truck: Rex's feet: Door and interior close-up: Side view of Rex: Front view of Rex: Bird's eye view of the Evil Doctor Porkchops: The Evil Doctor Porkchops without bowler hat (basically, Hamm ): Interior of caboose of Western Train Chase: The aforementioned trap door on top of the "$" door wagon on the train: Inside the hood of the truck: The three wagons: Western Train Chase box (held by Steve Witt): A different angle of the controls in the caboose (it's just two levers and a blank 2 x 2 round tile): Enjoy! prateek Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 IMO, the pizza truck is the best TS set so far. I like it, but why isn't there a back window? Quote
Oky Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the pics, Pi! It's a pitty that the train's interior is done so poorly, but it's good to hear that most of the parts are printed. Has anyone taken pics of Rex with his legs or tail taken off? How well can you move 'em? IMO, the pizza truck is the best TS set so far. I like it, but why isn't there a back window? Agreed, though the Garbage Truck is a close second. There's no back window so that you can seat Rex in the back without having to take his tail off. Too bad for the window, but that's an easy mod. So how about the price? And where is it going to be exclusive to? Edited April 12, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote

And where is it going to be exclusive to? Rex's arms are made of rubber and move together simultaneously. His legs move separately, and his tail can spin (all parts stay in place when moved, including the hands). Quite a lot of poseability than most animal figs if you ask me!I'm not sure if his tail or legs can be removed, but Profound Whatever said that the legs can be taken off, and the tail looks like it can be removed too. I don't think that TLG could even afford to put another windshield piece in. There seems to be a total of 12 windshield pieces in the set (6 are as mudguards, 2 for the front, one for the top hatch, two for the side, one for the back bumper)! Unfortunately I did not ask about what store it's exclusive to or the price. I was too happy to see the sets to remember to ask questions! Edited April 12, 2010 by ILikePi Quote
Delta 38 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Oh, brilliant! Not only does the pizza truck include three minifigs I really, really want, it contains pizzas! If there really are six, this is great! I know it's not much to be excited about, but I have never gotten any pizzas before, and now I'll have a stack of them! What I need now is to have a cheap price placed on the garbage truck set, and I will be ecstatic. And, of course, I'll need to find the sets when they are released first... Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Is that me or I see PRINTS on Pizza Truck pieces?! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I wonder why there is a trap door in that piece of rolling stock on the western train, plenty of TNT eh ? Dam I want this train the most of all the TS sets (apart from Woody's Roundup). Interesting hat on our normally friendly piggy bank. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
FinalFeature Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 The pizza planet truck looks interesting. Cant wait to get it. I wonder if the pizza truck will fire pizza from the motor in the third film? Thanks for the pictures! LegoGalactus Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I the Pizza Planet truck! The other sets are meh though. I don't like the lack of actual minifigs. Quote
-JD- Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I the Pizza Planet truck! The other sets are meh though. I don't like the lack of actual minifigs. My sentiments exactly. The Pizza Truck has lots of detail and useful parts, so it is the best TS set so far! Seriously though, all those pizzas?! Quote
Corvus Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 I the Pizza Planet truck! The other sets are meh though. I don't like the lack of actual minifigs. Although it does have a lot of iconic TS figs- this means I'll be able to get them in a set I actually want. With a little modding, this is going to be a great display set. Quote
time1513 Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 oh boy... now i'm torn on what to get? should i just get the train set at least i get all the key figures like buzz and the gang.... but RC is pretty cool too! :D i love the Rex figure! :D Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Im sure we will wait forever Lego-Freak - Switzerland is always slow and expensive! That's true - but it's still good to know that they're available now at least somewhere in the world, it makes the European release date seem less far away Quote
roamingstop Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Actually they are listed as available now from Toys R Us site http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3778029 Quote

Oky Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Martiger on flickr has found set 7597 in stores:http://www.flickr.com/photos/martiger/ Wow! Looks like the train comes with two extra blind wheels! Actually they are listed as available now from Toys R Us sitehttp://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3778029 That's great news, especially considering that they have free shipping on orders over $100! I will check my Lego Store on Friday and if they don't have the sets yet, I think I'll order them. Edited April 21, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
sok117 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) WOW, that pizza truck is massive! This and the army men on patrol are gonna be the only sets I'm getting though, maybe all bricklink a woody, maybe. EDIT: The reason for having no back windshield is so that you can stick Rexs' tail through it. Edited April 21, 2010 by sok117 Quote
Derek Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I am going to a Lego store for the first time on Friday and I am crossing my fingers that they will have the Pizza Planet Truck! I really have no intentions of collecting all of these sets, but I felt so nostalgic when I saw the first pics of the truck. If only we got a Slinky Dog and Mr. Potato Head- they are two of my favorite characters and because they are from rival toy companies, I doubt we will ever see them in Lego. -darthperson Quote

From memory the train was around $70 (max), trash compator around $50 and the Dump Truck also around $50 but listed as limited edition only. All had qualified for free shipping...
