There's a trident, some sort of key, and it looks like a new monster head or something.

Yeah. I changed my opinion when I saw it on Flickr. Originally I found it in some random Brickshelf gallery with this fake list of Bionicle sets so I was disinclined to take it as real. My bad.

Doubt that. They usual have the approved list done by now, and I'm guessing that they just haven't decided on an umbrella name.

[-TA-]

Also, I'm sure at least some retailers who are given the set list will know who characters like Tahu and Takanuva are, so it would be false advertising on LEGO's part if they were to get the retailer's hopes up when the characters are in fact completely different and unheard of.

This is doubtful.

7116 - Bionicle Tahu

- I don't know what to think of this. I mean, what about the others?

7117 - Bionicle Gresh

- What about the other major Glatorian? Just Gresh?

7135 - Bionicle Takanuva

- But he's huge!!!

7136 - Bionicle Skrall

- If the movie is about the Glatorian and Mata Nui beating the Skrall, then their is not much of a point.

7137 - Bionicle Piraka

- The Piraka are sea-serpents. As if they could come out in canister form.

7138 - Bionicle Rakhshi

- Spelt wrong sooooo...

I think it's a pretty cool idea for a war, but it's not even the end of BIONICLE yet, and where is Mata Nui?

Zaktan - There must be some major storyline change, possibly Mata Nui taking Glatorian to the MU. Piraka doesn't make too much sense unless there are new Piraka, but Takanuva is normal size, the Skrall will likely only be defeated and not slain in their hundreds, and with Tahu and Gresh there will probably be other key Toa and Glatorian included in larger sets and later canisters. :classic:

Just a thought - if these set lists mean that the setting next year will be in the MU with key Toa being remade in Canister and Larger sets, I think we at EB may have saved some of the Toa Nuva - 'Cause they're the ones that are likely to be piloting at least some of the summer (or winter) vehicles, and thanks to Front, they may not be simple pilots that aren't up to the detail of the canister Toa Nuva.

A cringing thought though, if we get a Turaga in a set (which I heavily doubt/hope not), it will have an Av/Agori build. :sadnew:

I would guess the sets are already finished by now...

Remember though, if that is real it's only the winter sets.

I doubt the vehicle drivers would be finalized, even if the vehicles themselves are being used in a movie next year.

But that is what Bionicle is. Hideous, sometimes asymmetrical and most of the time useless for MOCing. :P

-Omi

Oh god, this is so true.

Also I hope this is real. Piraka were awesome, characterful dudes.

Maybe "Piraka" is that one set that got scrapped. The one of the Piraka snakes. That'd be cool.

Might also be a filler for Vezon.

Lol, that's hilarious, loved how you drew the second panel.

If you did more characters, that'd be great.

I can imagine Rahkshi:

"So, what would you want if you were remade in 2010?"

"HISS-SHREEEEEK"

"Thank you"

In theory, the idea of MU characters meeting BM characters is not so bad. The clash of cultures and powers could bring forth some very nice character scenes. The bad thing is Bionicle's story barely has the time to focus on such interesting things as a clash of cultures. It has to be all action and blasters for the kids. Grr.

I'm waiting for pics to form an opinion. If the set list is true, well, I'm sure I'll grow to accept, or even like it. If not, well, that suits me just as fine.

... *shuffles into convo late*

I think the lists are all fake. But I'll still keep them off of BS01.

That makes sense, but I complain because we just made it to Bara Magna and want to learn more and develop more Glatorian and Agori.

And the Piraka? The species is the Skakdi, and I believe only the six sets were named Piraka. Vezon doesn't exactly count, but if that is right then it could be good.

And when did Takanuva go back to normal size?

EDIT: Just a thought, but seeing how it's the 10 year anniversary for BIONICLE next year, maybe they will re-release the sets?

Right now Taka looks like how he did in 03, except with the 08 set's weapons. He was cured of the Shadow Leech by the Klak, and the growth spurt was only in effect while he was in Karda Nui. Once he left he gradually returned to his original height.

Also, I see where you're coming from about rereleasing the sets, but what's the point of rereleasing Gresh and Skrall, who were released 2 waves/1 year before?

Posted

ZotS, Kiotu poitned out that it's actually not the 10th anniversary, until 2011, since 2002 was the first anniversary and so on...

But 2010 is the 10th year, which is definitely something special [and equivalent to the not-so-special-sounding 9th anniversary. :P]

Re-releases make absolutely no sense, unless there was something special/different in them [like how TLG keeps re-releasing SW sets. >.>]

Loving this topic. You guys panic so easy. I can't wait until you find out the real info later this year. You'll hate it, as usual. Can't wait to hear the howling start in earnest.

Personally, I really like where things are going with BIONICLE. You core fans probably will too, after you stop hyperventilating. But if you don't, you can blame me directly, since I've had a larger role than before in setting the story direction for the first part of 2010. But just remember - I'm not responsible for everything. The big decisions were made much higher up.

I also got to have a big voice in the sets coming out in January, which I'm inordinately proud of. Even designed a weapon.

Hey, now that's not nice to exagerate Bink! :( Not everybody hates the new info of the next year once it comes up. In fact, I seem to remember that the first reactions to the leaks, and later official pics, of the Glatorian were mostly positive.
