Chef Hatchet Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I'd like them better if they weren't such a poor excuse for final sets. I mean, come on, they could have at least sealed the deal with a giant Mata Nui robot set. Even if it was a Wal-Mart exclusive. Talk about a middle finger to the fanbase.

You think they actually want to end BIONICLE in an epic way that we all want? WRONG! They could've just ended the line right after the Legends, leaving us with nothing. So appreciate what you have. Be grateful that you get 6 more sets. Either that or nothing.

I´m grateful for them, I just think it would have been better if they introduced Her0 Factory in winter 2010 as well to get more sets instead of just 6 Agori sets for the whole half of the year and nothing else... (I don´t count Ben 10 sets for obvious reasons.)
Bfahome Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Now we're like "Stars sucks!". Who is this "we" you speak of? I like them. :D I'd like them better if they weren't such a poor excuse for final sets.I mean, come on, they could have at least sealed the deal with a giant Mata Nui robot set. Cap'n Kopaka Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Even though they don't have the greatest design, I think the stars are pretty awesome and in fact a huge salute to the fans who have been with Bionicle since the beginning. I mean just look at it: Tahu Mata, Takanuva, and the Rahkshi, not to mention the fact that the Piraka is actually Nektann, a character which would most likely only be known by hardcore Bionicle fans and not the casual set-buyer. I've never been too partial to the Av-Matoran/Agori design, but I think the final wave of sets pulled it off well. It's not just better than nothing, it's a pretty awesome ending in my opinion. ~cap'n
VBBN Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 ^ Kids would think of nektann as those guard things from VNOLG.
tao07 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hey guys, some news here from the OGD: You've repeatedly said that the prototype robot wasn't involved in any of the Great Being's plans to restore Spherus Magna. Was another robot supposed to be built for Teridax/Mata Nui? Would this have been part of Mata Nui's 100,000 year round trip?Yes. But for unknown reasons, the GBs never built it. The mystery of why not is most likely something that will be dealt with in future story. Hmm...A third robot...COOL! The thing is, Why did the GB never built it? ..... A new mystery to be solved!

Brickthing Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 They already had the prototype that they could fall back on as a backup second GS. They probably didn't have enough time/resources to make the third proper robot, so they didn't. It seems like an odd unnecessary mystery to be added to the story.
ultimate antrozek Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) I FINNALLY CAME UP WITH THE ANSWER GUYS! CHECK THE SPOILER FOR THE TRUTH OF WHY THE GS NEVER BUILDED THE THIRD ROBOT Go to picture! Fixed the spoiler Edited December 29, 2009 by 3D Brickthing
ultimate antrozek Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Looooool- It was just a joke! OR I DID BECOME CANON!? OMGOMGOMG GREG CANONIZED THE TRUTH
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I know this has been mentioned before, but where can I find the 5th movie script? The one Greg posted on his blog? And that is a HILARIOUS spoiler. The way Lego is knocking off bionicle he may HAVE to end it like that.
ShaddowCroc Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 I know this has been mentioned before, but where can I find the 5th movie script? The one Greg posted on his blog? Um, you just answered your own question . . . Link, just in case you couldn't find it.
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Well I knew it was in his blog, just didn't know where his blog was...
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Wait, so if Makuta was intended to be a Great Spirit... Does that mean he's literally Mata Nui's Spirit-Brother, like in 2001?
ShaddowCroc Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Wait, so if Makuta was intended to be a Great Spirit... Does that mean he's literally Mata Nui's Spirit-Brother, like in 2001? If that's true, then it's totally awesome. Someone ask Greg about that, because if they actually became 'brothers' (in the traditional BIONICLE sense) then it would be so cool. The revelation that Makuta was so much lower than Mata Nui was one of the things I hated most about BIONICLE's recent story.
Wrinkledlion X Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I've already asked him. We will see!

The revelation that Makuta was so much lower than Mata Nui was one of the things I hated most about BIONICLE's recent story. While I personally didn't mind the change, as Makuta was still an incredibly threatening villian, I agree that this possible revalation would indeed be incredible, as well as awesome.
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 In the "traditional BIONICLE sense", brothers usually refer to partners or people that work on the same purpose. Hence the Toa calling each other brothers & sisters. Since MN and Teridax fall under the same category, they've always been brothers.
Trionx Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I was just thinking- it would be interesting if Greg could work some of the "Hero Factory" sets into canon. What I mean is just the sets, not that I want a Toa William running around trying to defeat Makuta Xplode. I know it isn't very likely, but it's just a thought.

I know it isn't very likely, but it's just a thought. Nah. Greg only works with sets if he has to. Now that BIONICLE sets are done, there's no reason for him to write stories using sets anymore. Plus, what if the HF sets have human faces like Knights' Kingdom? Greg has said a thousand times before that he's not gonna put humans into the BIONICLE story.
Trionx Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Plus, what if the HF sets have human faces like Knights' Kingdom? Greg has said a thousand times before that he's not gonna put humans into the BIONICLE story. They all fell in acid and turned into two-face?

Like the unofficial 2010 thread we had a while back, but with actual sets to back it up.
Brickthing Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 What I do see happening is MOCs using HF pieces being brought into the Bionicle canon through contests. I doubt any official models or alternate models will be related to Bionicle, because TLC would be focusing on introducing the new HF story instead of promoting a discontinued one.

The idea was that Greg could fit the HF sets into canon but just the sets. I'm sure he won't do that but I was saying it would be interesting.
