Way to stay on topic?

Artakha's appearance = 2010 issue = On topic enough. Next time just report it though, instead of posting.

I think it's the overall style and character vibes of the MOC that attract me to that Artakha too. The building techniques and colour scheme aren't as great, and Artakha absolutely needs a new Kanohi piece if he was to be given an appearance.

Nobody cares about the original scale of the Rahkshi now it just seems like the Toa are fighting angered puppies.

EDIT: I still like the art though. :)

Advance has a new virtual magazine up. On pages 12-13 there's a video about the goings-on at Rocket, the team that works on BIONICLE and other LEGO themes. We get a brief glimpse at a Hero Factory-patterned hard hat as well.

For those who can't read Danish, here's a Google Translated version of the caption:

Advance has been working with the LEGO Bionicle for 10 years. The project is a result of close cooperation in the development of both the universe, history, and figures. Here you can meet the team who call themselves Rocket and get an insight into their work.

Still haven't watched the full thing or checked further pages for BIONICLE content (my internet is slow so videos take a long time to buffer), but so far it's very interesting!

The prologue of Journey's End has arrived!!! Link

Finally a new Great Being: Heremus!!!

It reminds me a little by Hermes (only by name)

"Heremus" is Latin for "desert" or "waste". I imagine it might have been plucked from the remaining 2009 approved names. And yes, they still do use real words as names sometimes; I've contributed a number of 2009 name meanings or possible origins to KZN02's sandbox list on BS01. Some of the origins are dubious at best, but some (like "Skraelingi" for Skrall or the confirmed Latin names) I'd gladly bet money on.

BZP just posted a link to a sneak preview of Graphic novel #8. And it looks awesome. Also, Sayger fans will rejoice - personally, I'd rather have Zainer do the entire thing, but I've got to admit that Sayger's doing a much better job than he did in 2007. Non-generic Skrall and a sweet Element Lord of Fire? Count me in.

I'm so glad Sayger is back to 2006-levels of quality. He just got sloppy in 2007.

Not all of 2007. Really I remember about as many poor-quality pics in 2007 as in 2006, although in 2007 they had the distinction of being almost exclusively inflicted upon the Toa Mahri (we rarely got a decent pic of them).

Don't forget the gosh-awful picture of Vakama in the last panel of the final comic (no, not the one before that, but the one that looked like it was wearing a paper cutout on his face and holding a stick with little squiggles at the end).

But really, I've never liked Sayger much period. Perhaps its that I just couldn't get over how sloppy a lot of his work was, particularly whenever he drew a full-body pose of the Piraka. I don't thing there was a single panel in any comic where their spines looked like actual spines. It always looked like he took about 5 seconds to do them, and that really hurt the Piraka's overall liook in 2006. :sceptic:

Personally I thought that helped the Piraka in the creepy factor. It made them look very skeletal, which I think was good for guys with visible spines and huge freakish teeth.

I actually thought that that Vakama was pretty cool-looking. Maybe not something they should've kept in the comics, but definitely cool. He looked like a petroglyph or something.

I agree, that's probably my favorite drawing of his. =P

I kinda like Sayger's style. When he tries, that is.

I like Sayger too, very surreal and stylized art. :D Waaay better than Elliot's crap. :P

The colors of 06-07 comics helped immensely too, I think... and with his new standards, he's practially right up there with D'anda.

What is it with you people? Whenever there are new comic scans somewhere in the obscurity of BZP or online books like this with no obvious availability, you don't post the links?

Now, where is that darn chapter 1!
