Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 It's official. Sahmad has said the best line EVAH.
Wrinkledlion X Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Wow, this is awesome. Poor Telluris. Which line do you mean, by the way?
The Dor Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Telluris seems so much like a child in this episode. I love it.
Disturbia Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I thought we would never see Metus again, but there we are...
Refia Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Sahmad's tale is indeed very good and omnious. Kinda funny how it all takes place while above them Mata Nui and Makuta are duking it out. XD
Aanchir Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Telluris seems so much like a child in this episode. I love it. He reminds me a bit more of an obsessed tinkerer. He does have childlike tendencies, but they seem more to be a result of being out of his comfort zone and having lost the things that tie him to civilization. Of course, that's probably a result of my preconceived notions about his personality, moreso than an analysis of this chapter by itself.
Zarkan Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I thought we would never see Metus again, but there we are... Same here, especially since I believe Greg said we wouldn't be seeing him again. But seriously, if there is any proof that Greg can write well, this serial is it. Sahmad just plain rocks, and I'm liking how Telluris seems to be more of a inventor pretending to be a villian than actually evil at heart. The way he was crying over his Skopio-bot sounds like how a science nerd would cry over a failed experiment - and that is totally hilarious. Oh, and I can't forget that this chapter also had one of the biggest landmark moments in the entire history of Bionicle: a mention of romance! Man, I never would have thought that we'd actually see this in the official storyline, but here Sahmad is longing for his former lover. How cool is that? Now, if only we actually had some established female agori characters...
Bundalings Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 FINALLY. When Greg writes it slow it can be really good... and Shamad's Tale I am enjoying. None of this universe hopping or random character teleportation. This is good.
80 Dollar Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Now, if only we actually had some established female agori characters... Mmm, come to think of it, there really are no female Agori...that is kinda weird. Looking forward to seeing more of this serial. :)
Wrinkledlion X Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Mmm, come to think of it, there really are no female Agori...that is kinda weird. Looking forward to seeing more of this serial. :) ...I never noticed...
Brickthing Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Mmm, come to think of it, there really are no female Agori...that is kinda weird. Looking forward to seeing more of this serial. :) Wow, that's horrible, especially because I've been living under the assumption that Bara Magna was more gender-fair than the MU. Coming to think of it, the only females on BM are Kiina and the sister Skrall. ...No wonder Kiina wanted to get away!
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 As much as I like to discuss Sahmad's romance issue (which is the most epic thing EVAH), why isn't anyone paying attention to the new chapter of Journey's End? Nobody even bothers to discuss it. And now that you mentioned it, there haven't been any female Agori mentioned in story at all. Makes me wonder: there are female Vorox and Zesk, right?

I read the second chapter, but there wasn't an awful lot of things that happened that we didn't already know. Greg has said that there are females of all tribes, but they've just never featured in the story. At all... To further distract from JE chapter 2, the next chapter in the Mata Nui saga is up, this time with even more discrepancies to the scale of Great Spirits. I really like how the story is requiring the 2 spherical moons (with more life than the planet they orbit) to simply be crashed back into the planet, and none of the characters who know of this have considered the disastrous effect it should have, instead thinking it's going to restore an ex-planet that exploded to it's original happy state.

Makes me wonder: there are female Vorox and Zesk, right? If there weren't, they couldn't replicate and the species would die out. I really like how the story is requiring the 2 spherical moons (with more life than the planet they orbit) to simply be crashed back into the planet, and none of the characters who know of this have considered the disastrous effect it should have, instead thinking it's going to restore an ex-planet that exploded to it's original happy state. Greg's probably just gonna pull the age old "Bionicle physics" stuff. I think it would be cool if Mata Nui succeeded but instead of fixing things, the planet totally explodes and only the GBs escape to start anew elsewhere. Granted, it would require all of the characters we know and love to die, but it would be EPIC CLOSURE.
Wrinkledlion X Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Or Mata Nui could've been created to smash the remains of Spherus Magna so that the GBs can pretend nothing bad ever happened involving them.
Refia Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Doesn't Mata Nui know that when a planet slams in a planet both planets melt to become a fused ball of molten magma, and that there are chances a part of it will be flung into outer space and form (a) moon(s)? It's what scientists say happened to our little earth 4,5 bilion years ago. Still, that image was kinda neat, even if the scale's off. As for JE, I found that it went a bit too fast in this chapter, it came across as rushed, but that's just me. And there wasn't really anything new in it, either. Still, good enough, and by far not as rushed as the JE comics. Speaking of which, aren't we supposed to be seeing the last comic of Bionicle soon?
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) So, um. Why couldn't the Great Beings just build a machine that fired magnetic rays at the Moons and pull 'em back? Why create two gargantuan robots for this ridiculously silly purpose? What's the second 'bot needed for, anyway? -_- "Stop! This is all getting very silly." -Ick Edited February 25, 2010 by Ikki o' Moopyville

Aanchir Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I guess that the energy to pull 2 moons back is way too big to be handled by usual machines, and only giant robots are capable of handling that kind of power. Also, like Mata Nui says in the latest Mata Nui Saga chapter, it has to be done with precision. So obviously he's aware of the damage random planet-smashing can cause. It stands to reason that the Great Beings, nutty inventors that they are, would decide that a giant robot with a working nanotech "brain" was the best way to perform such functions. Perhaps they were right-- one of the criticisms of giant robots in terms of their actual functionality is that typical objectives don't require the versatility of a human-like form, and that's why industrial robots are specialized and non-humanoid. Mata Nui, however, has to examine other worlds, return to his home world, and evaluate the precise and adaptable equations of movement needed to restore that planet from three sections into one... wouldn't you want such a robot to have a mind and body with humanoid versatility? These are just my thoughts... obviously as 3D Brickthing said, the real-world reason why the story headed in that direction is for purposes of Rule of Cool: an array of tractor beams wouldn't have nearly as much personality.
Malum_King_Vorox Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Last Bionicle comic's scans is up!!! Gallery
Wrinkledlion X Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I think I'm gonna wait til I have the comic actually in-hand. If it's the last one for BIONICLE, I'd rather read it in person.
