I don't think a Heel Face Turn would have made a lot of sense at this point. It would have come out of nowhere.

But the EP Entity=Big Bad theory, I subscribe to that. Maybe we'll get something on that later. Maybe Teridax was a Xanatos Gambit of some sort. That would be great. Or if he was just the EP Entity's Dragon.

I still like my idea: Mata Nui reenters his body, Makuta is forced out of the body in his infected Tohunga/Matoran form, which falls and burns up in the atmosphere.

It's epic, it's fitting, Mats gets his body back, and it references 2001.

Only problem is that it doesn't give him a way of still being alive like we all know he is.

I don't like the idea of a sudden change of heart, though. If that was going to happen, it should be because Makuta is trying to save his own skin and/or inadvertently helps Mata Nui fix stuff then is hit by a rock or what I mentioned above.

Also the "Makuta = puppet" theory would basically destroy the entire BIONICLE story's base. Up until now, Makuta's been the big über-badguy who's orchestrated every nasty thing that's happened. For him to suddenly be just another pawn would be a bit too much.

How about Mata Nui distracting Makuta while Tahu and Takanuva make it inside Metru Nui's core -- Tahu destroys the Antidemis, and Takanuva uses some Iden to place his spirit in the core. Then Taka and Mata unite the worlds.

Or Tahu simply destroys the Antidermis, and Mata Nui stops Makuta's dead MU body from a disasterous fall.

Or Makuta destroys the Matabot, Mata Nui's spirit returns to the Ignika, which then flies into Makuta's mind... and destroys the Antidermis or something.

At any rate, I wish this was more epic. Something involving death and rebith. Dunno.

Looking at the instructions for the Stars combo model, it's not as bad as I feared. Four arms and four legs, yes, but they seem organized nicely, and I like the blades on the back (reminds me of Takutanuva). Two of the "tools" are a bit ridiculous, but otherwise the organization works nicely.

Someday I'll build it and see if it's really as decent as the instructions make it out to be.

I'd much prefer any of those reasons, but I get the feeling that even the final comic was restricted to on Bara Magna, so that all the Star sets got decent coverage. :sceptic:

And there was a bit of rebirth, with Mata Nui returning to the Ignika. (Although it was too rushed to have much effect)

As for the EP Entity=Big Bad theory, it would've messed up the comic by adding an extra layer of confusion, however I think it's quite possible that the EP Entity is a more ultimate villain that Makuta.

Presuming he's always existed, he's the cause of SM's shattering, and I remember reading a quote a while back that talked about the GS keeping the EP away from Bara Magna. It could be possible that all the destiny transformations that have occurred and made use of (Rahkshi, Toa Nuva), were orchestrated by the EP Entity, making events play out as they did in order to bring the EP back to SM. The EP could even have disabled the MUGS' movement system to ensure it was destroyed from the space rock. With the GS dead on the ground, the EP will be able to leak back into the planet core again. So far in story, I doubt anybody has thought about the EP's current location.

Perhaps he will show up in a future storyline threatening a second Shattering, requiring a mission similar to the one in the Alternate non-Shattering Universe? Only this time everybody has experience from the first, but there are no Great Spirits to help.

Mata Nui needs to stay out of the Ignika. He has no right to keep oppressing the Mask's sentience and mind, IMHO.

Anyway, Journey's End chapter 3 is up:

http://cache.lego.com/upload/contentTempla...8E0D5DEEBFC.pdf

It's basically the detailed version of convincing Raanu.

Who says Mata Nui's oppressing the Ignika's sentience and mind? After all, the Ignika had to cooperate with him to grant Elemental Powers to the Glatorian. For all we know, the Ignika might be a perfectly willing host for Mata Nui's mind, and might be choosing to let Mata Nui's mind have the authority-- who knows which mind would prevail if the Ignika chose to fight back against Mata Nui's?

Also, having only given a cursory glance to the other spoiler-tagged info, I have no idea why this is spoiler-tagged. I still don't want too many comic spoilers until I get the comic, although that will grow harder once BS01 starts to allow them come the end of this week. Here's hoping my own comic arrives sometime soon.

Journey's End Chapter 3 was pretty awesome.

Meanwhile, I've built the Stars combo model, and I can confirm that it's pretty impressive. Perhaps part of that impressiveness is just because of how infernally difficult it seems to be to actually make a decent combo out of such specialized pieces, but nevertheless, it's not nearly as bad as I feared. Awfully chunky body, though.

Any chance to have pics?

On the other side, Journey's End Ch 3 was one of those not a lot happened but it's really good chapters. You know, all talking and stuff, but the way he explains to them how Makuta is, seeing Raanu's perspective of the city being taken by Mata Nui... It's great to get to know more the characters.

So, I got the comic yesterday. It was really rushed, but I think Greg did a good job, all things considered. Nice illustrations, too, even if the scale was off.

I'm a bit shocked by how brutally Makuta died. (Though Greg won't actually confirm that he's dead.) Personally, I like to think he's not, but at he same time I don't want him brought back, as it would cheapen the ending. His fate should be left ambiguous.

Also, I hope Greg whips up something to keep the gravity running in the MU, because I don't want everyone to have to move out... We've had enough exoduses. I did like how Bara (Spherus?) Magna looked at the end, though, with all the vegetation. It's been a long time since we've had such a pleasant-looking location.

Anyways, I'll be the first to say it:

MAKUTA DIED TO SAVE YOU

EDIT: Just read Chapter 3. That was AWESOME. Very ominous.

Actually, I believe it was already confirmed that all the beings would be moving out. Then again, maybe it hasn't, but I can't see Greg keeping everyone in the MU for that reason. :sceptic:

It just seems odd to me for millions of beings to emigrate en masse out to a whole new world that they have no connection to... Especially for the Matoran, who made such a big deal about returning to Metru Nui. I could imagine some, maybe, but not all... And besides Matoran, I think there would be trouble getting a lot of the less agreeable races out.

Well, if the MU really is damaged as much as the comic implies... then they'd kind of have to get out, wouldn't they? Assuming that the whole 'three days' thing applies here; the entire Universe would collapse and cease to exist as they know it, after that period of time... and, also assuming that the MU's inhabitants know that (after last time :P); they'd make every effort they could to get out; lest they die... or worse.

As for the 'less agreeable' races... they might just do what the Zyglak did in The Kingdom; and refuse to leave - and die with what they consider to be their home. Or, they might just not be as well-informed as everyone else, and not make it out in time; or... anything, really. You do make a good point, though; that it seems odd (as well as rushed >>) to have everyone move to Spherus Magna like this, and live 'happily ever after'...

I think it's a fitting closure, really -- one of my favorite parts of the comic. Bionicle started with "The Great Beings sent Mata Nui down from Paradise..." and now, in the end, the Matoran return there. The story comes full circle. A good, mythological wrap-up. =)

Also, we get what we wanted since 2008... a decaying Great Spirit body, with a dead universe inside it. Could it BE more awesome? :D

EDIT: Spoilerized.

Has it actually been confirmed anywhere that the Bara Magnans and the Agori can understand each other? Because the matoran speak programming language while the agori speak bara magnan. Two totally different languages...

From what I gather the MU beings have built-in devices that allow them to understand Agori and for Agori to understand them or something like that.

Well, that part's definitely cool, but I still think it's weird how content everyone is to leave immediately, especially given how much the story focused on the return to Metru Nui. Just to desert it seems a little regrettable...

Also, I say the corpse malfunctions and recreates Mata Nui (as an island-sized plateau, I guess). I think it would be cool to see it in the middle of the land.

EDIT: Just saw the latest MN Saga update. Awesome picture, but so incredibly, incredibly out of scale.

Out of scale? Those Rahkshi totally fit the scale.

If Mata Nui's feet are roughly the size of his head, they should be about 400-500 kilometers long. These are *definitely* not. xD

You do see the tiny yellow specks getting out of the feet, right?

Well we all know by now that the scale in these pics will never be right

The scale of the latest MN saga seemed reasonable enough to me, at least compared to... other things :)

I'm already picturing it: 2 pages of the OGD full of "Was that Aqua Magna?"
