Hey guys, I'm Kuzc050 (initially it was supposed to be KuzcoII, but I accidentally entered a wrong e-mail adress :hmpf: )

You may see mee as a new user of this forum, but I've been lurking here since 2007 and I never felt the need to make an account, but now I thought: Oh why not? I've been into BIONICLE since the very beginning in 2000/2001, but I stopped collecting the sets after 2006. I still follow the story though.

My opinion about the 2010 sets so far:

Tahu: OMG Mata Hau! I don't know why everyone is complaining about their size, it's about the same as the original Toa Mata

Takanuva: Looks awesome, but more like a Toa of ice, not Light, it even looks like it's snowing in the background (or those things are sparks).

Gresh: I think his color scheme fits him perfectly, if his helmet had two colors it would be to much detail. These sets are supposed to be simple and small.

Strakk: Black Kopaka sword is cool, but the rest of the set is kinda meh :sceptic:

I agree with everything you´ve just said. Takanuva really is kinda pathetic for a Toa of Light, eh? He should have been called Solek and we would all be happy.

This seems very interesting.

Tahu- Brilliant, just like the original, but improved and with a gold hau.

Takanuva- As takanuva, not very successful (does not look like a toa of light), but as a bionicle set, done nicely.

Skrall- Not bad, but not enough new pieces for me to get it and that it is way too similar to the skrall last year. (Though I love the black kopaka sword.)

Gresh- As gresh, not so great, but as a bionicle, quite good. Just has a bit of a weird colour scheme (why silver blades?)

Overall, I like he idea and hope its non cannon and it is a 10th anniversary. However, I still feel that skrall and gresh are a little out of place. Mainly being that,

1. they were released as sets last year.

2. not really "Stars" as they have only been here for a year (unlike tahu, the first toa of fire we knew and takanuva, the first and only toa of light and first set with gold pieces.)

3. only different with skrall is that he lost his shield and thornax, changes colour from red to green and got a new sword.

4. gresh has the same weapons with no thornax and same mask.

Does anyone feel this way too?

They're probably Stars in a sense of how iconic the sets were. Tahu, Takanuva, Rahkshi and debatably the Piraka fir the bill, and Gresh and the Skrall were portrayed as the main two sets of early 2009.

I wish they had done a Chibi Krika or Bitil, because those could've worked really well in this style. If the rumour for 12 small sets is true, there could still be a chance. :classic:

I can't wait to see the Rahkshi and Piraka, because the Piraka should be able to confirm whether the sets will have any storyline merit. Currently Tahu is in his Mata form, but Takanuva is in a form that we've never seen before, so surely there would be a storyline reason for dual swords and silver armour. Gresh could've switched his weapon, and the Skrall could have different armour or be a different class, but if the Piraka Star portrays Avak or Vezok, then it's likely that the Stars won't be involved in 2010 story, because the current Piraka are either sea-snakes or dead.

Maybe something happened to Vezon that made him blue like his brother? We don't know what happens to clones after a period of time, do we? Or the Skadi life-cycle do we?

I think Vezon turning Blue is actually plausible.

Could be another Piraka we have never heard of or simply a set called Piraka just like they did it with Skrall.

There are no other Piraka.

Just making a brown/blue Piraka wouldn't work like it would with a Rahkshi because they all had then own agendas, unlike the Rahkshi which are generic beasts/troops.

I think Vezok makes sense. He was a rather iconic figure in 2006 images -- i.e. the Island of Doom cover -- and was more prominent than Avak ever was.

Oh boy, I DO hope we get an orange or yellow Rahkshi. =D I'm also curious whether the Rahk head will be the original pearly shade, or the shinier Rahaga style... here's hopin' for the latter.

BTW, if they make six more Stars, I can't see how they could possibly make a Bohrok with an Av-Matoran design. O_.

This just hit me..

If there is gonna be a chibi-ized Rahksi, wouldn't that be a Rahaga? We've already been there.

Well, Actually Bohrok already are Av-Matoran..

Oh, I meant a Skakdi, sorry... :cry_sad:

I see, Your idea makes sense now...

While it's true they couldn't make an Borohk with the Av design, they might make it a different style or a bigger set. If not they could do one of those dreaded mini Borohk or another iconic 2002 set like the Exo Toa or the Bahrag (I guess they would have to be big though...)

Wasn't Exo-Toa on the list?

So guys, who do you think I should get? I've always wanted a Takanuva set (even though I wasn't expecting chibi-Takanuva), but Tahu has 2 original Hau, which is very awesome. Gresh and Skrall are just lame, and I'd rather have their canister counterparts.

And I really hope a certain someone will get his hands onto one of these soon, so he can do some decent reviews... *cough$80cough*

I think an Orange/Yellow/Keet Rahkshi would be better [and more useful] than a Skakdi.

And the old Rahkshi heads from '03 were all matte, had this weird hue and doesn't fit with most of the parts these days.

Shinier would definitely be nice.

But that's with the big legs and Tall body Av-toran [Pretty much biggest Av-Toran], and the shortest Toa Mata. xD

So in actuality, Tahu* is going to be pretty much a head shorter than Tahu Mata.

Keep in mind though, that this is the same for other colors as well. Red today doesn't look like the red of yesteryear.

But it's not as noticeable to me, unless it's an obvious change like old bley to new bley or old brown to new brown.

Maybe half a head, since My Little Tahu™ uses the same torso and leg pieces.

Ha, one can only hope...

If I could only get one of them, I´d get Tahu for sure. Just look at him. :) New mask mold, nice weapon, armor pieces...Takanuva has Silver Makuta hand as his mask and Solek blades...

New BIONICLE sets really made me happy.

That's strange, isn't it?

And I just began to hope that I won't be buying many sets next year... well, if it's Impulse, that means they'll be cheap! That makes me even more happy!

But this is also so SUDDEN...

not to mention Hi-Res. We get one blurry pic, then suddenly four huge pics in two days. This might very well be a first.

If your leaving just because you don't like four smaller sets that seem to be part of a commemerative series thats just silly. We don't even know if they're a part of the main line or just some special sets like the toa haga were.

To be honest I like them and if they're the less exiting sets of next year it sounds like the 2010 line is going to be sweet.

Umm, you know these are only six likely promotional sets that probably have nothing to do with actual story, right? The actual sets are evidently going to be better, according to Front. SO I don't think you should give up on BIONICLE just because four promotional sets don't fit your fancy . . .

K, fine, I'll wait and see the rest of the sets... :hmpf_bad:

also, Tahu comes with 3 Hau: the one he wears, the gold one, and the one that's part of his blade...and Takanuva maybe is silver (or black?) because he's not the main Takanuva, but one of the shadow ones that appeared last year.Remember them?
