Hey could you confirm whether or not the Rahkshi spine is fused to the head? Because I'm afraid that it is :(

Look carefully, there is a Atakus leg attached to the body. The head attaches to the leg piece, and the spine attaches to the regular head connection point.

I haven't seen such ingenious use of parts on such a small scale since the Mahritoran.

It's not Lhikan - It's Tahu, with a gold mask on plus some gold armour. It's not like Tahu hasn't done that before.

The Ben 10 sets are bigger than BIONICLE canisters, so they'd cost more. They're also licensed sets, so LEGO makes less money on the sets, so it is strange that they'd replace BIONICLE with Ben 10. Unless Ben 10 is actually that popular with the target audience and LEGO reckons that BIONICLE + Ben 10 will makea killing.

Probably will actually...and we haven't seen any other BIONICLE sets yet, despite the other sets shown ranging from January releases to at least March/April, so it's unlikely that the main wave of BIONICLE sets hasn't been shown if it exists.

I don't care really, because I'll most likely get the Ben 10 sets to scrap for the awesome BIONICLE-compatible parts, so my wallet won't be better off from only 1 small wave of BIONICLE sets.

In fact, the Stars are now of a reasonably detailed level for what BIONICLE has become these days, and the normal canister sets were becoming too expensive for birthday presents and the like, so maybe this is a switch to return BIONICLE to it's original price range? The Stars have fully fledged canisters too, so it's possible.

The best part though - if the Stars are the only BIONICLE sets for winter 2010, there's no way the story will skip half a year, with means that the Stars will be in the main storyline. _tehe__by_Tibboh.png

Or maybe no story at all. ;)

Ever think of that?

Well, the comic has to be about something. :P Could be flashbacks though... I'd count that as story.

-Ikk

Well its either that or fuckin up the story beyond belief. They have to find some stupid reason to make Tahu back in Mata form and Takanuva magically become Silver. And Vezok well, according to BS01, "Vezok was mutated, his body dissolving until all that was left of him was his spine and face.", and last we see him is inside a water tank.

So yeah total megablocks story mixed with retcon is all I see in the near future. :P

BIONICLE story is the reason why BIONICLE wasn't the next Roborider or Throwbot. They're not going to drop it, but like Ikki said, flash-backs are possible, although I can't really see how Takanuva or Vezok would fit into a flash-back, or the point of a Gresh + Skrall flashback. The Rahkshi could be a flashback retconning the colour of Pahnrahk, but would fit better into the current storyline where Rahkshi are abundant in the MU.

At the Russian LUG-meeting, the Piraka spines are attached wrongly to the arms. They are rotated 90 degrees, because spikes are supposed to point upwards.

(in response to the frontpage pic)

I haven't bought a Bionicle set since the Bohrok-Kal, though that new Tahu looks pretty darn spiffy! I just might have to fork out a Hamilton or two...

Omi - haven't you heard that in adittion to Tahu turning Mata, and Taka turning silver, that GregF will also star in this story ark? He already has a catchphrase - "can't answer that.".

I wasn't asking Greg. Perhaps you need to get an appointment to check your eyesight.

There has to be some story, and that's just one of the possibilities for featuring such a wide array of characters. I agree that it's a pretty pointless one, especially because aside from Gresh and Skrall, none of the Stars have ever come into contact with each other in their portrayed forms, and the characters that they do come into contact with aren't sets, so LEGO probably wouldn't show them.

It's just a possibility though, but the only other storyline option that I can think of would be that Makuta turns Tahu back into his Mata form, demutates Vezok, and then somehow Gresh and a Skrall come into the MU and are involved in story as well.

No matter what happens, it's going to be hard to take seriously because they're all chibi.

In other news, Tahu's mask being longer is probably to prevent him looking horrible with his Av-head. If it does, it might almost make the use of an Av-head excusable. :sceptic:

The Ben 10 sets have new claw hands, and one comes in brown, which means awesome new brown BIONICLE pieces. :classic:

Like I said before- I think the Stars are just part of a promotional "history of bionicle" thing. That could explain the early Magazine- A retrospective on Bionicle throughout the years leading up to the tenth anniversary at the end of 2010. The Stars are just the buttering up... then the story kicks in, then we finally get a big celebratory 10th Anniversary thing.

Still find it stupid that they have 2 Glatorian in there instead of just 1. Figured they're better stars out there.

Agreed. Skrall doesn't really stick out to me as a major villain - Pridak or one of the Visorak would have been better.

Hey, I've got a vague idea as to these BIONICLE Stars . . .

What if it's some time-breaking, alternate-universe breaking battle royale of BIONICLE characters a la Super Smash Bros. Brawl, or Transformers Universe. I think that would be vaguely enough story to fill out the first half of the year.

(But I'd hope that we get canister sets too if that's the case. They could be chiBionicle titans or something?)

Chibi-ified exo-toa would be soooooooooo great

It could adapt on tahu, or other kardatoran-based sets.

It would need to be a black set so it couldn't be Pridak. Maybe Nuhvok?

It does annoy me there's two 09 characters when this line is supposed to be about old character and not ones that were just introduced. However, most of my annoyance at the Skrall set is because this is the third Skrall-like small set we've gotten in a year. Weren't Atakus and Fero enough?

At the very least, though, this has a slightly different build and a black Kopaka blade.

Mantax was pretty important in 2007, too... I wouldn't mind a mini Mantax...

That annoys me too (The having two brand new characters that were just released a year prior part.), but I think what annoys me the most is that one of the ones they re-released wasn't very important to begin with. Gresh. I think they over-promoted Gresh to the extreme, since everything in '09 was about him. He felt super tacked-on in the movie, and it would've been better without him. But the most annoying part was that they rereleased him in favor of someone much more iconic of BIONICLE in general. Mata frikken' Nui. I think it would've been a much better idea to release Mats as a chibi than Gresh. Hm D:<

(The Skrall doesn't annoy me as much. But the fact there are two characters from a single year while the other years only get one set per year, with the entire Bohrok, Metru-Nui and Mahri-Nui years ripped out makes me angry. :/ )

Although if we got Mata Nui then we wouldn't have the yellow Rahkshi.

Problem with it is that we need a black character that headlined an entire series. There hasn't been one, so Skrall is the closest we'll get.
