~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 shit that SUUUCKS. WHY BINKY WHY Um, characters in Serials? Duh?
Brickthing Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I mean, I do need a complete Avohkii collection. :P Anyway... I never extremely disliked the Av-matoran system, just it's price and it's original boring colours. Albeit simple, the system makes generally good looking, posable and simple figures that are the perfect size to make a vehicle or accessory to use without depleting your entire MOC collection. With 2009 and the Stars, we're starting to get so many colours of the same pieces, that there even more limitless combinations of parts and colour schemes, that you can make limitless clearly unique characters that all have a consistent style. It's like the Tohunga all over again, which is why I like this system. As for why I like the Stars, there's the above, the new and recoloured pieces, and the fact that they look like Chibi versions of old characters. I've accepted that BIONICLE doesn't do complicated builds anymore, but if I want one, that's what TECHNIC is for. The Stars are nostalgic and cute, and will look great on my shelf.
CabooseBM Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Um, characters in Serials? Duh? This thought makes me happy in the pants because I love the story serials. Also, hi guys, I'm new here. Edited September 21, 2009 by CabooseBM
Brickthing Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 shit that SUUUCKS. WHY BINKY WHY Get the real question - are the BIONICLE Stars canon.
The Dor Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Um, characters in Serials? Duh? ;_; I have never been so shamed in my life xD But still that's not cool in my book. I don't like them messing the story up (even in serials, Vezon's current exploits being a perfect example) EDIT: Get the real question - are the BIONICLE Stars canon. Um are the BIONICLE Stars not 2010 sets...? Edited September 21, 2009 by The Dor
ultimate antrozek Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 if they were canon... Tahu chibi : The makuta Teridax taked Tahu in one of his jails after the Rahkshi reinforsament kidnaped him. now he's under a great illusion of Teridax. where he is a Matoran. his darkest fear comes to live...¿How he will protect the other matoran now if HE is a matoran without powers? Rahkshi chibi: made by Teridax as the reinforsaments of the other Rahkshi. also made to enter on tiny places that the Other Rahkshi can because of their big bodies Takanuva chibi: same as Tahu Piraka chibi: Axonn. former order of mata nui member. created a host body for Vezok. he Instaled Vezok head and spine body to the robot body. so now he does have a own body..but as a prototype. how many will stand? Gresh chibi: Gresh remembers his days as a child. when he was in training with some Agori. he wanted to fight. so he lied saying he was an Agori to show how well he can fight. and as well defeat the other damn child Skrall Skrall chibi: One of the many of them. trained by other adult Skrall to defeat their oponents in case the Enemy enter to their hideout Now you can laugh :D
~Wrack'n'Ruin~ Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Besides, Tahu is pretty much the same size he was, and if Gresh and Skrall are there, then you can consider them unchanged, then its a clever way to say that they're not tiny in-universe. Or something.
ShaddowCroc Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I'm still going with my Super Smash BIONICLE idea . . .
S-N Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Or they could be what the large Toa Mata Nui set was. A different interpretation of the character. Just bigger, and canon. Edited September 21, 2009 by S-N
---Vertea--- Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Okay, this has been eating at me for a while- all the people out there freaking out because they decide that these sets are current storyline relevant. However, my theory is that these impulse sets are selected by iconic value, as a sort of tribute to years past- a way for new customers to learn and old customers to feel nostalgic. Or not. do you think I'm on the right path, or do I need some guidance? Your friend and Kmoo rancher, ~Valuuk~ Why can't you all be right? from Bink
CabooseBM Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I'd just like to say that the Rahkshi is a really clever design. And that I love the entire series.
Erebus Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Not sure if this will add to the discussion but: "Personally I define canon as "that which is in the sets and in the published storyline from LEGO." Others have a more... liberal and selective approach. Whatever works for everyone. I've had endless grief over trying to say something is canon but people don't agree. So I find it best to let everyone decide for themselves." - Binkmeister I asked him about how he defined canon because I was confused, and still am, on what he thinks about canonicity.
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I think Binky pulled off a Greg answer. They are all canon - You know why? Because they are all in the story! They all have relation to each other because they are the most iconic characters over the years. -ZotS
Erebus Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 It can't just be the character, right? Has to be weapons and tools and whatever else is on the side, I think.
---Vertea--- Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 It can't just be the character, right? Has to be weapons and tools and whatever else is on the side, I think. I guess. I personally have little issue with the weapons. Taka's is really the only one that's too far from the actual set, and I never really cared for his old weapons.
Vezon Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I guess. I personally have little issue with the weapons. Taka's is really the only one that's too far from the actual set, and I never really cared for his old weapons. If you look here you'll see that his weapons are actually staffs, like in his 03 set. He just has two of them now.
KonguChan Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Baby Gresh and Baby Skrall (There could be regarded as canon) Mutated Rahkshi and Mutated Skakdi (twisted, but within the canon) ¿The Melding: Toa Takua and Toa Tahu? (no Toa Takua and Toa Tahu in this dimension, no canon) wearether... just a idea

Erebus Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Also, yellow Rahkshi is a bit strange unless that's not a Panrahk at all.
Lih~ Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Also, yellow Rahkshi is a bit strange unless that's not a Panrahk at all. I'd assume it's a heat vision Rahkshi, as they're supposed to be yellow. Edited September 21, 2009 by Lih~
Sidorak The Hunter Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Okay. I've been out of the Bionicle forums for 4 or 5 months now. It looks like Lego is releasing older characters in new forms for 2010. They are Tahu, Gresh, Takanuva, a Skrall, Vezok, and a Rahkshi (Panrahk?) Is this correct? I have no idea what's going on. I would have liked an updated Bohrok. Also it seems like many more BZP members have registered here than last time I checked in. :P - Sidorak
Brickthing Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Yellow Rahkshi are Heat Vision IIRC. As Omi kindly pointed out, that's the power for yellow - yellow-orange doesn't have a power assigned to it yet. Also it seems like many more BZP members have registered here than last time I checked in. : Nah, they're all watching as guests, but they're too afraid to join.
Lih~ Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 If it's not Heat Vision, it's either Insect Control (which is orange), or one of the six already released. Creating a new power for yellow-orange would be a retcon, which I don't think is likely.
