Erebus Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Could mean the end of the 2009-2010 saga. *shrugs*
Brickthing Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Could mean the end of the 2009-2010 saga. *shrugs* No, conclusion of the 2001-2010 saga. Why else would you have remakes of sets from as far back as 2001?
iLego94 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 About the 3 movies - it was in a press story, and GregF said if TRL doesn't sell they will not make another Bionicle movie. The story will not end this year, the story is written for '11, look it up in the EU page on BS01. I doubt the Mata Nui saga is over, but the MU could be over. ~iL
Gus 263 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I think Bionicle will not end in 2010. Like what was said previously, there are more two upcoming movies (I think it makes more sense to conclude the series with Mata Nui's trilogy than after it)... About the story for the newest sets, "Stars", I think they will not get a story together. The only ones that have probability to be seen together are Skrall and Gresh. The new Tahu set was made to resemble his first form, as a Toa Mata. He never met Takanuva, fought a yellow Rahkshi or battled against the Piraka (Vezok, in this case) as a Toa Mata. I really don't know what will happen with the comics for the first semester . I just think it will continue from TLR. I find no way to promote the stars through the comics, just by serials or by Brickmaster Magazines. Or there are probability to those new set forms be seen in Graphic novels?
Kuzc050 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 If 2010 is gonna be the ending of the whole saga, then the 2009 - 2010 story arc is very dissapointing, I expected that after 2008 the first, chapter of the saga was complete, I expected atleast 5 more years of this saga...

If you aren't selling, then the story ends there. Greg has said that in the past. -Omi
God Iron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 DAMN IT!!!!!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!! So why is Front been designing 2011 sets?
Omicron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 So why is Front been designing 2011 sets? Gotta stay on schedule yanno. -Omi

iLego94 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Don't worry I doubt the story is over, but Omi is right, it could end at any time. ~iL

God Iron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Bionicle will end in the next 30 years I guess (Oil Reserves) I wonder what will happen to LEGO After the Oil runs out...

Screw LEGO, a majority of the financial market will collapse. And people will have to live without their precious Fiji water. >__>

Brickthing Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I think this means we've been replaced. Con: The sets aren't entirely BIONICLE, so there are a lot of parts in there that wouldn't be that useful for BIONICLE Mocing Pro: There's definitely a new limb piece, thigh armour and claw hand that's BIONICLE compatible. And the sets come in colours that we'd normally never/hardly ever get in BIONICLE, such as Sand Green, Sand Blue, Dark Orange and Pink!
Omicron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Not sure where you see pink. Could just be the lighting. -Omi
iLego94 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I can't find anything on the 2010 line on the LEGOLAND site, does anyone know where it is? A real surprise here In the interests of saving time --I cannot discuss ANYTHING relating to BIONICLE 2010. I'm not allowed. That includes sets, story, etc. The fact that this site or that site may post things early does not change the rules I have to work under when I am on here. Greg
Strakk Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I wasn't able to find better ones; I forgot to save the originals yesterday. Some of them are there if you want (big pics).
iLego94 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 :) * Canon vs non-canon: I consider all 2010 BIONICLE sets canon - very much so. You all, as always, will decide for yourselves. How do you define canon? I am not saying they aren't canon, but I thought GregF said they won't be doing flashbacks or alternate universes and such, and for sure, I don't recall Takanuva ever using swords. :shrugs: Then I would suggest the story might be going in a direction you don't expect. Just because it doesn't fit into what you think the story is, doesn't mean it's impossible for it to do so. Taking a story 90 degrees to the left (or right, or up or down) is always part of storytelling. Personally I define canon as "that which is in the sets and in the published storyline from LEGO." Others have a more... liberal and selective approach. Whatever works for everyone. I've had endless grief over trying to say something is canon but people don't agree. So I find it best to let everyone decide for themselves. - Bink
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Remember how Greg said the story team had to move forward some plans and squeeze the ELs into this year? A rather clear sign that something is happening down the road. I'm inclined to think they are ending it in 2010. For one thing, story is what seperates Bionicle from all other LEGO series, and it is evidently concluding next year. This is turn mean future years would be disconnected from not only the original saga, but also from the mysteries of those times. This is the type of story where the unveiling of the last mystery equals the end. To all of you saying Bionicle sells to well for LEGO to scrap that -- we don't know that. Greg has ben awfully quiet about the line's sales since 2007, and it seems highly likely there are at most six canister sets next year; this would mean that those sets, the core ones of the series, are not selling well at all. Thin about it, folks. Bionicle has, and would always be about two things: Mata Nui and mystery. When the last really big secret -- the destiny of Mata Nui -- is set to be unveiled -- any point from there forward would just be stalling the overdue. And with Ben 10 on the table, I really don't see LEGO competeing with themselves in the action figure department. Well, Babylon, bye bye... -Ikk

Does the alien who is the first in the image (I think his name is Humongousaur) have brown? If so, is it in Onewa's scheme, or a bit different?
God Iron Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Those Ben 10 figures look cool, but not as Ben 10 figures. They hardly resemble they original Counterparts. I think It would be good if Bionicle Ended, if a similar line replaces it.
iLego94 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I'm going with what Omi says - just wait until LEGO says something :)
