The Crazy One Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 (edited) I have to say, I am dissapointed with these sets, but they are kinda cute, so I'll let it pass, I might pick up Vezon, his face is priceless. Edited September 25, 2009 by The crazy one
Zip Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Dear bionicle lovers,I looked today in the dealerscatalog of my local lego dealer and I am sorry to say that lego wrote something like the beginning of the end of the bionicle saga. They wrote that it was a long story with many hero's and to make a tribute to the greatest hero's, called stars. Every of the six sets from the beginning of 2010 has a golden piece, when you collect them all you can give one of them a golden armour. As how I read it I think 2010 or 2011 will be the last year of Bionicle, so I will warn you on time. Aren't you a bit late.
iLego94 Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Aren't you a bit late. No - this is good! Wout - would your dealer let you take a pic of the page? If not, could you please describe the page in a little more detail?? Thanks man, this could confirm a lot of info, and it looks like as usual Omi is right, and I am wrong :P ~iL
---Vertea--- Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Thanks for all the info Wout! Sucks that they're pulling the plug so soon, but Hopefully this only means a change in story.
Brickthing Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Aren't you a bit late. No, he's the confirmation that some people need, who somehow doubt the authenticity of the Czech website. Bear in mind guys that it seems to say BIONICLE saga will end, not line/theme, which means that simply this story will close properly and the line will be rebooted. However, even if the BIONICLE line does end completely, it will be replaced by something with a different name, but a similar premise, in depth story and almost exactly the same pieces. It's what happened with the Throwbots and Roboriders when they replaced themselves and were replaced by BIONICLE. Either way, storyline fans will finally have conclusion, and MOCists won't have to worry about a lack of future BIONICLE(esc) sets/pieces.
---Vertea--- Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 If they DO replace Bionicle, I want to see something like in 2001- robots in a non-technological setting.
ShaddowCroc Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 If they DO replace Bionicle, I want to see something like in 2001- robots in a non-technological setting. I agree with this, but I really hope they have elemental powers again. In fact, if they did a story about the olden times on Spherus Magna, and put it under a new brand name; I think they could pull it off, and make the fans vaguely happy . . .
The Dor Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 No, he's the confirmation that some people need, who somehow doubt the authenticity of the Czech website. The reason we doubt it is because most of us can't read Czech and can't verify it's authenticity. Bear in mind guys that it seems to say BIONICLE saga will end, not line/theme, which means that simply this story will close properly and the line will be rebooted. I so hope this happens. But I'm still really sad to know it's ending. But also kinda really really excited too. However, even if the BIONICLE line does end completely, it will be replaced by something with a different name, but a similar premise, in depth story and almost exactly the same pieces. It's what happened with the Throwbots and Roboriders when they replaced themselves and were replaced by BIONICLE. Or this lol but I really hope that some sort of homages to the past still remain. Either way, storyline fans will finally have conclusion, and MOCists won't have to worry about a lack of future BIONICLE(esc) sets/pieces. This is kinda sad. I love the storyline's new direction sooooo much. This really really sucks still. Man. MAN. @SC: I hope no elemental powers. Those things are lame sauce by this point.

While Google Translate isn't 100% reliable, we have that, 80 Dollar who I trust and now Wout's confirmation, so we should be satisfied that the statement is true. What it means though, is still up for interpretation. IMO it's better than continuing in Bara Magna, never returning to the MU for years, and when we do, having a poorly detailed conclusion because newer fans wouldn't know the story that happened 15 years ago. At the best, 2010 could conclude the BIONICLE saga of Makuta's plan and takeover, and use some key characters and the universe for the setting of the new saga. I loved the elemental powers, but they were overused and pretty much just force blasts. I'd love it if they limited the elemental power, and came up with more inventive and relevant ways of using them.
Phantoka_Chirox Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) Impulse just refers to them being small sets. The Agori were impulse. The Av-Matoran were impulse. Every small similar set in the previous years were impulse.-Omi I know that, so do you think the list with nokama is real? Edited September 26, 2009 by Phantoka_Chirox
iLego94 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I know that,so do you think the list with nokama is real? I'm 75% sure it's fake.
Wout Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 @ Ilego94: I got a personal massage from you and you asked me for more information. I'm sorry to say although I wrote some things down, I have not very more information than in my earlier post. I know not so very much about Bionicle and their story (it's not really my line), but there are 6 sets in januari with newer versions of already made persons as a tribute to the saga. In the description they wrote that they starts with the beginning of the end of the bionicle line, it was not clear what it really means, but the remade sets are a "best of" and it feeled like there will be only one of two years, I think no more, that Bionicle is made and probably more "best of"sets. I don't know of the saga only ends or the whole bionicle concept at all and replaced by somting like it, But I think there are many people who likes it, so I mentioned it. Hope I helped you.

VBBN Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 We could really use a...hero...right about now
strider406 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) I don't know if anyone has seen these yet but I found pictures of some of the new sets.Tahu Gresh Takanuva forgot name and this picture. Edited September 26, 2009 by strider406
pipowwe Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Lego got balls Do you mean, that there is going to be canisters in january, right? I don't know if anyone has seen these yet but I found pictures of some of the new sets.Tahu Gresh Takanuva forgot name. OLD!!!!

Rocketbilly Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 just a thought...what if the apparent "EXO TOA" set is real~ large box set for summer perhaps- it could be eesigned to be used with the stars sets. but i personally think this set wont come to be.
The Alchemyst Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Highly doubt it; it's from Tilius. And if this only 6 set thing is true, then damn, Lego definitely has balls. Either these sets will sell like Hotcakes, and a large profit for Lego. Or it could fail miserably. ._. I guess it kind of makes sense why they're $8 then; nearly the middle of canisters and small sets. I hope it ain't true. That means all Lego will be getting from me for the first half is whatever they get from $8 on Tahu. [-TA-]
ShaddowCroc Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I actually think I'll spend significantly more on these BIONICLE Stars than I would any other normal 6 impulse/6 canister arrangement, because these give me six sets to focus on. Six cheaper sets instead of the twelve different priced sets.
Brickthing Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Instead of BIONICLE canisters this season, they've got Ben 10 Canisters. Although they've lost on sale from older people like us, the primary target audience of BIONICLE will probably gobble up those sets, because they love Ben 10 too. I for one will be getting all the Stars, and maybe a multiple or two for the pieces if the prices aren't too forbidding.
UltimaNuva Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Does anyone have any other pictures of the new sets like this one?
BrotherDog Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Some of the ad pictures seem to imply, getting all 6-sets is really getting 7-sets, if one were to include the extra gold parts on their covers. This could be promising

This could be promising I think the gold pieces only provide armour for Tahu, so you can't build an additional figure and still have Tahu as normal. ... Which means I'm probably going to get 2 Tahu sets.
