Zip Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 :/Riiiigggghhhttt. It would be a bad plot point. -ZotS I meant the Tahu in the teaser. It's not Tahu himself, but a model shaped after him. And it's the size of the Red Star. Because it is the Red Star.

Because it is the Red Star. Eh. Mata Nui is just pointing at the star in the middle of Tahu, which is probably Teridax. And that model of Tahu is just representing who's coming. Cap'n Kopaka Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 It has to be. If the GBs' lab didn't have it, then it has to be in the fortress. I mean, where else would the GBs keep such a powerful weapon? (assuming it is powerful) It's not powerful. It's *FABULOUS*! They're going to make Teridax drop dead with fashion! ~cap'n
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I wonder who the summer characters will be? Titan Teridax and Titan Mata Nui would be amazing. -ZotS
The Crazy One Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I wonder who the summer characters will be? Titan Teridax and Titan Mata Nui would be amazing.-ZotS True that. We should have 6 more mini sets, 6 cannister sets for the bigger and taller guys, and then two titans.
The Dor Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Eh. Mata Nui is just pointing at the star in the middle of Tahu, which is probably Teridax. And that model of Tahu is just representing who's coming. Am I the only one who thought that the Tahu "projection" is, in fact, a projection? Maybe related to the message Tren Krom is sending?
S-N Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Also, Greg just said that as far as he knows, the Stars are the last sets using the "Av-Matoran" build.
S-N Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Exactly. lolwut USING the Av-Matoran build. No plans that I know of to extend the Stars build past the Stars at this point.
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I'm sure some UCS Makuta and Mata Nui or normal titan sized versions of them will be released. Maybe a couple of canister sets for the movie and the mix. And the Stars aren't the last sets. And at least the Agori build was used well this time around. -ZotS
God Iron Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I dunno, there is even evidence for the stars to be the last sets, but I think they'll at least be a few more.
Brickthing Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 lolwutUSING the Av-Matoran build. Not definite, but ever since the Av-Matoran build came out it's been hard for LEGO to avoid using it on the larger vehicle/summer sets, which asks the question if there will be summer sets. Then again, Front did nicely pass on our thoughts about better vehicle drivers a while back. Maybe that means the Av-builds of possible summer sets have been upgraded? I'm sure some UCS Makuta and Mata Nui or normal titan sized versions of them will be released. Maybe a couple of canister sets for the movie and the mix.And the Stars aren't the last sets. And at least the Agori build was used well this time around. -ZotS I'm hoping for a UCS GS as the farewell set for fans if BIONICLE is in fact ending. With SYSTEM, it's fully possible and the awesomeness of the GS' design would appeal to non-BIONICLE fans too, meaning it doesn't have to be a loss to TLC to make it. @ Red Star Tahu, I thought that was Tahu materializing from a teleport, but the Red Star w/ GS descending thing makes more sense, with Tahu a representation of the MU guys inside.

But only if it was System. I don't want another Titan Mata Nui. o_o ~Bunda
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 A mix of system and BIONICLE is good to, but an accurate UCS would really please the older demographic, and the hardcore fans. Especially if it came with a letter signed by Greg or something. That would be the ultimate farewell set. -ZotS

There also needs to be a (chrome) gold Hau.I wonder if that's why they only have about $40 USD of sets this wave (this past year it was $160 USD)I'm expecting big and overpriced. The main reason the winter 2010 sets are small seems to be Ben 10, which is similar, so it's temporarily pushing BIONICLE into the backseat.
Nightmare Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Uhmm... Why would TLC want to make a full canister set remake of past sets when they can do a smaller one and save budget for full new characters?
ShaddowCroc Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Wait, the stars are the last sets using the Av-Matoran build!?!? NOOOO!!! I absolutely LOVED the Av-Matoran build. It was perfectly simplistic, and could be used to make some really cool things if you had enough imagination. (Zesk, Rahkshi, and Skrall are perfect examples of this. This news saddens me. >':

Stick some Nuva armor on it! Do a Vezon! Uhh... what do we do now?], and once it leaves, no one will miss it, if even remembering it at all. Just to prove my point, did you notice that the Piraka body piece wasn't used at all this year?
Zip Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 lolwut I'd be laughing if we have a summer wave, since they already have "Makuta vs. Mata Nui" in the next comic. Chances are, Bionicle will end before summer starts. /= And for all we know, the vehicle and pilots might not even be Bionicle brand. As for the UCS thing, we all know Lego tried with Titan Mata Nui. Failed miserably. Do I want something like that General Grievous? Hells yes, but it ain't gonna happen for Bionicle. Side note: I have great expectations for the new replacement if it isn't Ben 10.

Don't remind me. I'm hoping my parents buy me that for Christmas, just because the clearance prices would have to drop down to, at most, $30 for me to buy it myself. I'm planning on picking up 5 extra on Black Friday just to paint them gold and eBay them off... I think General Grievous and Titan Mata Nui are the reasons why we're asking for a system set instead of a technic one...

I hope the Titan Mata Nui wasn't an attempt at UCS, because it hardly reflects what UCS or large BIONICLE creations are capable of being. My interpretation of UCS for BIONICLE would be the GS around 1 meter in height, mainly SYSTEM using BIONICLE parts only where appropriate for the model, and built with the target audience of AFOLs in terms of prices and complexity. Eye colour changeable from green to red would be icing on the cake. Ben 10 isn't the replacement for BIONICLE, given it's target audience and the limitations of it being Licensed.

You'e completely wrong. Both about the Piraka body and the Av-Matoran body. The only thing that was wrong with the Piraka body was the lack of ability to but armor on it. Other than that, it's exactly lie the Inika chest piece. And the Av-Matoran build can be used and abused to do some really creative things if you just try. Like I said: Zesk. Totally unique and awesome build. Works great.
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 How do you know Mata Nui vs Makuta ACTUALLY OCCURS next issue? It could just be false advertising for hype. It could also start off the year with a bang. No one said officaly if they will fight in that issue, of if BIONICLE will conclude with the battle. Av-Matoran design was nice, but I preferred the originality of the older Matoran. -ZotS
Cap'n Kopaka Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a UCS? Ultimate Collector Set? If that's the case, I don't know about the System thing. I'd like to see a set reminiscent of the 2001-2003 titans, with elements from the vehicles thrown in. I don't think a greater System ratio captures the Bionicle feel well enough =\ Some crazy (but proportional) biomechanical Baterra or Mata Nui or some kinda Kaita would be amazing <3 ~cap'n
