Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a UCS? Ultimate Collector Set?

If that's the case, I don't know about the System thing. I'd like to see a set reminiscent of the 2001-2003 titans, with elements from the vehicles thrown in. I don't think a greater System ratio captures the Bionicle feel well enough =\

Some crazy (but proportional) biomechanical Baterra or Mata Nui or some kinda Kaita would be amazing <3

Stands for Ultimate Collector Series. :classic:

In the case of a UCS Great Spirit, SYSTEM would be the best way to make the model as accurate to the comic/CGI interpretations of it, with all it's smooth and angular panels. If it's something else, like a Baterra, BIONICLE/TECHNIC could work, but if TLC makes a UCS set, the Great Sprit would be the most fitting IMO.

On a different note, I hope that the re-entry of Makuta into Bara Magna serves as a storyline excuse to clean all the grime and rust of the GS.

I hope the Titan Mata Nui wasn't an attempt at UCS, because it hardly reflects what UCS or large BIONICLE creations are capable of being. My interpretation of UCS for BIONICLE would be the GS around 1 meter in height, mainly SYSTEM using BIONICLE parts only where appropriate for the model, and built with the target audience of AFOLs in terms of prices and complexity.

Eye colour changeable from green to red would be icing on the cake. :cry_happy:

Get out of my thoughts!

I to think its stacking up that Bionicle will be no more by the summer, but I think we shouldn't fret, a replacement (Not Ben10) will come up.

You'e completely wrong. Both about the Piraka body and the Av-Matoran body.

The only thing that was wrong with the Piraka body was the lack of ability to but armor on it. Other than that, it's exactly lie the Inika chest piece.

And the Av-Matoran build can be used and abused to do some really creative things if you just try. Like I said: Zesk. Totally unique and awesome build. Works great.

I can honestly say that there are no uses I can think of that haven't already been done.

Yes, UCS is Ultimate Collectors Set. They are very detailed and have many, many pieces. One made of technic is hard to execute.

And I don't consider Titan Mata Nui a UCS at all.

-GRESHIOS

I don't either. I'm worried about whether or not the designers think it's UCS.

The problem is it wouldn't be BIONICLE anymore. And stuff that is actually similar to Bionicle like Exo-force or Ben 10 is kinda pha1l

pha1? Whatever...

It won't be Bionicle style, but it will be the character's style. I mean, look at the robot Mata Nui/Teridax in the comics and cgi. Do you think they can make an accurate model of that using a majority of Bionicle pieces? I don't think so...

TBH the Piraka body was worse than the Inika body, since it only had seven widely-spaced connection points and lots of contours that made attaching things rather difficult.

A UCS thing would be kinda cool. Maybe a one or one and a half foot tall Tahu or something.

How do you know Mata Nui vs Makuta ACTUALLY OCCURS next issue? It could just be false advertising for hype. It could also start off the year with a bang. No one said officaly if they will fight in that issue, of if BIONICLE will conclude with the battle.

Dude, the comics have never been wrong with the advertising. =P The only other probability is if the comic comes out really late. But it's not gonna take a whole year, oh no.

I don't want to consider the Mata Nui Titan a UCS, but the fact that it's a larger representation of a smaller set kinda shows that it was what Lego was trying to aim for, while still staying in line with the target audience.

They don't care about us old folks.

That's the thing about UCS, the Millennium Falcon wasn't aimed at kids, it was aimed (and priced) at older fans who had the desire and money for something that awesome. The Titan Mata Nui set was still priced and designed to be within the acquiring range of kids, whereas a UCS BIONICLE set would be a lot bigger, and be designed for us older folk. Considering that original fans who were 10-12 year old when BIONICLE started are now adults, a UCS might not be a bad move for TLC.

UCS would please a lot of the older fans.

And turns out Mata Nui vs Makuta is next issue - but it doesn't end in January.

Hello Greg! How are you today? I have a few questions.

1.) Can Metus' Revenge be considered canon at all?

2.) I hear Tahu will be pretty major next year. Is this true?

3.) Does Tahu's de-transformation have something to do with the golden armor? Does the Golden armor have something to do with Mata Nui?

4.) Will Perditus or Telluris ever make an appearance?

5.) The recent comic states that next issue, Mata Nui and Makuta will fight. Is this just for hype, or will in really happen in January?

Thanks!

1) Haven't watched it yet, so can't comment, but from what I have heard, it doesn't sound like there is any reason it wouldn't be

2) Yes

3) You'll find out in 2010

4) Telluris appears in The Crossing, the story I wrote for the Polish activity books that people have been translating on here.

5) No, it really happens in January ... starts anyway, doesn't end in January.

It seems as though they'll spend all but two pages taking the time to show how they meet up, one page of them saying smack about each other, and one full page of their swords clashing.

It's a story aimed at little kids, it is a little predictable...

I'm wondering if 2010 will be just a few hours storyline wise...

I doubt it; the story will be wrapping up, but that just means that Greg will end up having to incorporate all 200+ sets made. My guess is a mix of a complex storyline to a predictable, almost PIXAR-esque, wrap-up.

I really hope it won't take Mata Nui [unless he's some sort of unimaginable idiot] ten pages to find a 40-million foot robot.

I was actually thinking it would take Teridax ten pages to find Mata Nui.

Mata Nui is to Teridax as a pixel is to 9 photographs.

I suspected something like that. Think about it, the GS bodies aren't very small are they? They won't be destroyed that easily. Maybe the battle will last for the entire story arc next year. Then Tahu, and the other major characters will try to find a way to help Mata Nui in his fight against Teridax. That would be awesome.

Glatorian running outside of the MU while Mata Nui is fighting and Matoran running inside the MU while Mata Nui is fighting.

That discription of their size differences is amazing.

That would be epic, if not very confusing.

According to real physics, they'd be able to destroy each other very easily unless they're both made of some new metal that's many times stronger than anything we've seen, because of the way energy involved scales up exponentially when sizes increase.

Then again, chances are the story will ignore physics completely in favour of kid's knowledge and extending the fight, and make them both near-indestructible to each other.

Anyone else thinking that if we're getting giant robots fighting each other, Micheal Bay should be involved? :P

No!!!! Don't let Bay anywhere near Bionicle!!!!!

He'll give the characters genitalia...

And will forget to develop'em...

Ungh.

If Micheal Bay entered in Bionicle, we'll have $200+ worth in these guys...

Now do you really want that? Really?
