Zaktan of the Shadows Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Well, more BIONICLE sets = GOOD. -ZotS
Brickthing Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If there is just ONE more BIONICLE set, then I REALLY hope it's a System robot Mata Nui set. A UCS set preferably. Maybe with redesigned Matoran and Toa minifigs that represent a few of the most important Toa and Matoran from the past. I want BIONICLE minifigs, but not in a MUGS set - it would ruin the scale of the model if it had an attempted interior or size-comparable figs.
Vezon Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I found Tahu and Takanuva today. Takanuva's alright, but Tahu is awesome. I also noticed that even though the Hau is Brutaka gold, it's a bit shinier than other pieces with that color.

I mean, that would be cool and all but I don't think it would represent the line at all. I'd even prefer some vehicle and pilot (Takanuva and Ussanui, perhaps) over just some system set. Unless, of course, the Great Spirit set had some Technic elements in it. Otherwise I just don't think it would feel BIONICLE at all. If you get what I mean. Also, good luck to LEGO getting a name cooler than "Bionicle" for whatever the new line is going to be =P ~cap'n
toatali Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Awesome! Bit confused about why Strakk is there though?
---Vertea--- Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Awesome! Bit confused about why Strakk is there though? I remember there was a post by Bink a while back warning everyone not to freak out due to the lack of canonity in upcoming bionicle media since it was for advertisement purposes only or something.
ultimate antrozek Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Maybe they will use mostly of 2009 characters (sets) and the 2010 sets
The Dor Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I found Tahu and Takanuva today. Takanuva's alright, but Tahu is awesome.I also noticed that even though the Hau is Brutaka gold, it's a bit shinier than other pieces with that color. Could you possibly get a comparison pic?
Vezon Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Could you possibly get a comparison pic? I tried a few different ways, but the pieces always look the same in the pics.
The Dor Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I tried a few different ways, but the pieces always look the same in the pics. Ah. So how noticeable is it in hand?
RocketClone Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 If your talking about the Bionicle Stars then those are already at ToysRus.
Vezon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Ah. So how noticeable is it in hand? Fairly noticable. It's also very slightly reflective.
Front Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I found Tahu and Takanuva today. Takanuva's alright, but Tahu is awesome.I also noticed that even though the Hau is Brutaka gold, it's a bit shinier than other pieces with that color. Tahu's mask comes out of a mould with a slightly higher surface smoothness than normal for Bionicle parts. I noticed that right away when we recieved the first test-parts from moulding. And funny enough the effect is exactly as you mention here, it looks more shiny, especially the golden version. But it's definately the standard mask-material in use.
Vezon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Since I had some free time, I went ahead and took some pictures of Tahu: The Canister The Lid The Back of the Canister Hau Comparison From the Front Hau Comparison From the Inside Hau Comparison From the Side The Hau on Ackar Tahu From the Front Tahu From the Side Tahu From the Back The Head From the Side Size Comparison A Classic Pose With Takanuva With the Gold Hau Toa Mata Look Familiar?

Both for the two masks and because even with the av-toran body, he looks so close to the original thing
The Crazy One Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Takanuva would have been glorious in gold. ;_; I know, but you could use Tahu's gold armour and the old gold mask from 2002 to get him in gold. Could work.
Vezon Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I know, but you could use Tahu's gold armour and the old gold mask from 2002 to get him in gold. Could work. Problem is they're different colors. The armor is Brutaka gold and the Avohkii is bronze gold.
Bundalings Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 There are a lucky few that have the Avohkii in new gold... Bah. I want to like Tahu but I cannot get over that head. It's green and makes him hunched.

It's green and makes him hunched. If the head's the only thing you don't like then I think you should still get it, since the pros greatly outweigh that con. I'm not a fan of the head, either, but at least the Hau covers it well from the side (unlike the Avohkii). Also, the designers had to use either the Av-Matoran head or the Glatorian head, so they probably went with the former so the new Hau would be more accurate to the original.
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 The Avohkii issue isn't that big of a deal to me. We've seen a lot of that before with the old sets. The only thing that Takanuva Stars bothers me is the weapons. I mean, with a little modification, LEGO could give Takanuva his old Staff of Light. But they had to go with 2 Solek swords with long handles. And obviously, the old gold does not fit Takanuva Stars well. And no one has answered my question yet. Exactly how movable is the Rahkshi Stars' head? Toaraga's review makes it seems like it's very limited.

Toaraga's review makes it seems like it's very limited. It's not too bad, but it's not great , and it gets it the way of the weapon movements. But, it's still okay.
Zip Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Aside from Bionicle, has anyone spotted the Ben 10 sets yet?
Brickthing Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Aside from Bionicle, has anyone spotted the Ben 10 sets yet? Not yet, and it's unlikely that many people here will get them the instant they show up...If they do though, they'll appear somewhere here. Somebody has all six Stars, and so there are pictures of the Golden Bionicle!
Bundalings Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Now that we have some good pics, I think Nektann will be my first Stars purchase. Seems fitting, I usually seem to get the blue set first. He just has a lot of personality, I guess. I would love Tahu and Taka but for their awful heads, but I'll probably get them both anyway. The Rahkshi's head/back piece is unappealing. I've never favored the Skrall design. I'd rather just spend a few extra dollars and get the big Gresh. So that just leaves "Piraka"... Not to say I won't get the others later, they just don't stand out to me as must-haves right now.
