80 Dollar Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) I'm sorry, but there are latches all over his body, and the matoran and the like have been living there for thousands of years and yet this is the first one we come across? Also since it's in his foot that should mean the Souther Islands which are said to be INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. Yet takanuva just sort of swans out of there like nothings happened.Personally, I think the story just nose dived. Maybe they are hidden somehow and how Tahu and Taknuva escaped is going to be revealed in RoS. Edited December 20, 2009 by 80 Dollar
Trionx Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I should also point out that they got out of the robot at the end of the second movie. I also need to keep pointing out that the comics are hardly ever story-accurate, their primary focus is to display the new sets. The good news is that those new graphic novels will focus more on the story, so those will will be better for us. And really, what other ways could Takanuva have come out? he can't very well climb down the robot from Metru Nui.
VBBN Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 If the storyline really crashes, I can see why, this is like that harry potter series, there was just way too muchgoin on and now it's going to take a lot to tie it up. Next, just to put it the final word, the images on the wall in that pic posted earlier Are NOT the new line, they are the faces of three ben 10 figures.

He could have used the Destral teleportation device he was fiddling about with in Takanuva's Blog 08.
Erebus Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 We could just wait for Reign of Shadows and Graphic Novel 10 to explain all this instead of complaining how the story took a nose dive. :P I mean seriously, the comics exist to promote sets. You would think that's why they are ending the comics when the sets are ending too.
Trionx Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 The thing I'm finding odd is that everyone is complaining about the comics NOW. They've been like this for the past few years, its nothing new. If you think these comics are bad, look at the ones from '08. They had as much background to them as this year, but they really didn't explain it at all. (Not to mention they hardly showed some of the sets. I think they made a big deal of Icarax going to Karda Nui in the second issue, but all they had him do was SAY what he was going to do and we never saw him again. )

jala12 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 If you guys don't want it cancelled then you better be buying the next two graphic novels that are coming out. I'll definitely be getting #8 since it's all new art and story. And #9 too since friggin Canada ended off the comics at Issue 2.
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 BIONICLE seems to be wrapping things up tightly. Yet I can't help but feel it was rushed. That was a very epic comic though - I LOVED the artwork. The battle is epic too. Regarding the hatches and a couple of other things: Hi! How are you doing today? How is your winter holiday going? I hope you don't mind answering some of these questions (and possibly suggestions).1.) Is the cube Mata Nui found related to the Nuva cube? a.) Where is the energy used inside the Prototype body? b.) Did it bind the components of the bot together? They didn't seem properly connected in the movie... 2.) Did something Mata Nui view trigger his lost memories, or did he simply remember? a.) (stupid question) Did Teridax suffer from brain damage when Miserix attacked his inner mechanisms? 3.) Are the hatches in very concealed locations? a. If so, were the Rahkshi only able to find it due to communications with Makuta? b. Were Takanuva and Tahu were chasing them and discovered it? 4.) How long did it take for the Agori to complete the Mega-City? 5.) Was that blast from Teridax's hand a warning or a simple miss? It seemed abnormally small... 6.) Was the battle of Mata Nui and Makuta always planned? Did it simply happen early due to cancellation of BIONICLE? 7.) If the dinosaurs on Bota Magna can be canonised, is it possible that Rock Steeds were a type dinosaur that were trapped on Bara Magna after The Shattering? They do look like raptors after all. 8.) Are Agori bigger than Matoran in size? Is there a size difference between the inhabitants of the MU and the inhabitants of Spherus Magna? 9.) It seemed that Mata Nui was pulling the moons together himself alright. Why is Makuta needed? a. How would the 3 merge? 10.) Is Tahu's destiny to use the Golden Armour, or is it simply part of what he believes is duty? Thanks! 1) No 1A) In the head 1b) Yup 2) Something he viewed 2a) No 3) No, they're not, but they aren't in places people normally are going. I mean, for someone from Stelt, for example, the hatch would be way up in the "sky" 4) You mean drag all the pieces together? Days, easily 5) It was more in the line of rattling Mata Nui by threatening his friends 6) Yes, it was meant to take place at the end of 2011 originally 7) Possible 8) I don't see there as being one 9) Mata Nui does not have sufficient power to do it himself 10) Tahu's destiny was to awaken Mata Nui, but the golden armor was originally designed with the leader of the Toa Mata in mind -ZotS

Hence Tahu being devolved by the Ignika. Hope he gets evolved back though...... Edited December 22, 2009 by Phantoka Kopaka Nuva
Mesonak Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 So the Golden Armor was created specifically for Tahu Mata. Hence Tahu being devolved by the Ignika. Hope he gets evolved back though...... How about no. I'd be more than happy if he stayed Mata. Nice info, ZotS. -Mesonak
Phantoka Kopaka Nuva Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 How about no. I'd be more than happy if he stayed Mata.Nice info, ZotS. -Mesonak As much as I loved Tahu Mata and his nostalgic-ness (is that a word?), I'd prefer him to be a Nuva again. It wouldn't be right for the leader of the Toa Nuva to be weaker than the others.

It wouldn't be right for the leader of the Toa Nuva to be weaker than the others. Fair enough. Then again, Tahu has the golden armor. Though he might not keep it... We'll see. Also, I don't give a crap about nostalgia. I guess my real hate for Tahu Nuva comes comes from his looks. Ugly mask, silver weapons instead of his fire sword... Tahu Mata's just more visually appealing. Of course, that's only from a set-viewpoint. :) -Mesonak
The Crazy One Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Hey guys. I don't know if you have seen this, but if you look, we can see the 2010 Bionicle based theme on Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45850206@N06/...57622932020553/ They don't look to bad if you look close enough. There seem to be a lot of new sets. More money needs to be spent me thinks. Edited December 23, 2009 by The crazy one
ProducePrincess Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I don't see why they changed the theme name , these things look pretty much the same as bionicles.
The Alchemyst Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Thankee, The crazy one!! Dunno about the small sets... But big sets? Throwbot2.0Throwbot2.0Throwbot2.0 And hopefully better colors. And less juniorization than this year. -.- And is it just me or do all the big sets look like the "bad guys" and the smaller sets the "good guys"? I definitely see a Thornax launcher on the Red guy, and zamor holders on the yellow[!] guy. But I'm hoping that it's just because they're prototypes. And two white small guys? No yellow/Brown? And it looks to me like normal Bionicle sets, they just got tired of having the same story, so decided to slap on a new name and give it something else. Oh and I definitely can see Mata Nui-esque legs on the Yellow guy, with the Inika legs and Matoro Mahri armor. [-TA-]
The Crazy One Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I can't wait to see better pictures. I think this really could be promising, but two seperate groups of guys! Woah, I need to earn money fast! Ooh, I just zoomed in to 150% on it, and it really does look good. And it's not too pixelated at that zoom.
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) And two white small guys? No yellow/Brown? I think ones supposed to be silversauce and ones supposed to be white. not both white. EDIT: what catalog is this from? is this tyranides catalog? Edited December 23, 2009 by Phantoka_Chirox

No idea, I just found it on Flickr. I just realised that the whole catalog is posted in another forum if you want to see the other themes. Edit: Here is the whole catalog, posted by Gerjan Lennips. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45850206@N06/...57622932020553/ Edited December 23, 2009 by The crazy one
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) oh ok. The large sets looks like titans :O no wait 7145 looks like a titan :O:O Edited December 23, 2009 by Phantoka_Chirox
ShaddowCroc Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Bleh. I don't like the canister sets much. The boxed sets seem good, though. But not the canisters. :/ (Also, the yellow boxed set looks a lot like Bitil. Hrm) I was really hoping we'd get slightly changed element lord sets that were supposed to be out next year, but these don't look like ELs . . . Mrh.
The Crazy One Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Zooming in on them, they deffinatley seem to be the same theme, not two separate ones.
Phantoka_Chirox Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) it looks more lime than yellow to me :\ no wait the canister's a lime and the box set's a yellow! Edited December 23, 2009 by Phantoka_Chirox
Toa Lahka Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I think I see Agori arms on some of them..
ShaddowCroc Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Looks like Greg wasn't entirely correct when he said they'd stop using the Avtoran build after the Stars. The blue canister set has 90-degree bent Avtoran arms, and the black set has the chubby Avtoran legs.
