It'll be hysterical if this new line uses Inika bodies frequently.

I have yet to get any of the Stars, since Wal-Mart and Target have yet to receive them.

Lack of giant set for the last of BIONICLE is really a shame.. I'd spend $90 for a giant Mata Nui robot set. That'd be a good way to close off the line.

Also.. What ever happened with that supposed "Gift" with TLR that was a mail-in deal? Did anyone ever get one? I haven't so far.

I got my nektann and gresh at target.

I got Nektann for Christmas. I would have gotten them all, but Nektann was all my Target had. I'll be going back tommorow, and I'll likely get them all.

I got Vultraz and Kaxium V3 for Christmas. /boringgifts

Though I've got to say, Kaxium is really awesome. Way better than I thought it would be, and I already had high expectations to begin with. Vultraz is a nice little set, too. But Kaxium takes the cake.

One word - Tuma. Easily one of the most massive looking Bionicle titans ever, even though Takanuva is still way taller. Love the sword and the mask, and the "wings" are a really interresting addition. Plus, you can't go wrong with some great recolors and a very good piece per price value, at least in terms of usual Bionicle prices.

Oh, but this is old news, isn't it - since practically everyone besides me who wanted Tuma probably got him ten months ago.

I got him back in September, the only place I could find him was at a LEGO store.

No BIONICLE sets for ol' Trionx this year. :cry_sad: I got some neat games though.

After looking through every store in my town that sells LEGO stuff, I finally found the Stars at Wal*Mart.

I got Tahu and Nektann. I have two words to say about these sets: TOTALLY AWESOME. Tahu barrages you with Nostalgia like there's no tomorrow, and Nektann has a really great design that merges some of the cooler things about each original Piraka. (Except the smiles, :'( )

I can't wait to get the other four Stars soon. Then get duplicates of a few of them because they all have amazing recolours.

I especially want to make a miniature army of Skrall and Rahkshi. Then try to make a Matau Metru Star with Gresh. Urgh, these things are all so cool!!!

The only Stars I might get are Tahu and Rahkshi. On sale.

I cannot believe how much you guys are geeking over these things just because they're nostalgic and the last line of sets.

It's not really the nostalgia or finality of these sets that reels me in, it's the fact that these are really good sets. At least in my opinion. But I am apparently the only person here who likes the Av-Matoran design, so . . .

As I said in my Takanuva review on BZP, I like the nostalgic angle, but that doesn't change the fact that these are still based on the worst set-design of all time. Man I hate the Av-Toran design.

This.

I like the Stars because of the way they expand on a solid design and make it better, giving awesome armor and some unique designs. (Skrall and Rahkshi.)

ShadowCroc: Hey, I like the Av-Matoran design too.

But yeah. No Stars for me today. Probably tommorow or Monday, though.

If you hate the base design, why buy them? Lego hardly put a horses head in your bed as a warning about what would happen if you didn't buy them.

Here's my opinion of the stars. i got tahu and takanuva back at the end of november and they are all right. tahu looks great from the front but not so good from the sides. his mask is a little weird and has a weird cheap texture to it but after a while it grows on you. from a distance he looks fine but when you hold him it's a little weird( i think he still looks better than the mistika version). still a great set and does the best it could with av-toran parts, which i actually prefer to inika bodies at this point since they are so over used. takanuva is great and the shoulder pads give bulk to him. they are fairly cheap and of course they have the nostalgia value so go if your a bionicle fan go ahead and get at least these two.these stars are worth even for nostalgia alone. that's my opinion anyways.

Parts. Nostalgia.

A combination of those two.

Something along the lines of that.

I'm a MOCist. I buy sets for what they have, not what they are.

I also do not own any of the Stars, my little brother has the three heroes, and I borrowed his Takanuva for my BZP review. Though I would like to own some of them for real, as I would like to own some of the new feet and armour pieces.

Although I get the angle you're coming from with the "nostalgia" factor since there's Tahu and Rahkshi and Takanuva, I really don't get why so many Bionicle fans will comment on "nostalgic" sets or pictures... I mean, if you're visiting a Lego/Bionicle forum on a regular basis, won't you see all those original sets all the time, for instance in signatures and avatars, usernames, fanart and fanfiction, revamp MOCs, and just around the forums in general. Unless you either hide yourself from any pre-say, 2005 discussion, which would be near impossible, or just get really, really into it when you're looking at the new sets, I can't see how you'd get a "nostalgic feeling" :\

Not that it's impossible, but I think many Bionicle fans use the term "nostalgia" way too much.

Well in my opinion, I get nostalgia because it's LEGO-created nostalgia.

Any fan can make a revamped Tahu MOC or draw Tahu in his iconic pose, but when it's actually an officially made set it has a different feel to it than some fan drawing or making one. Maybe that only applies for my feeling of 'nostalgia', though, so make of others opinions what you will.

I get your point, but I wasn't just referring to fan-designed stuff. I mean, how many times have you seen this or something similar in the past year?

mata_comic.png

It's official art, but it appears so often that I'd have to deprive myself of Eurobricks and BZPower and whatnot for a good few years to get any "nostalgic" feeling from seeing Tahu... but I dunno about you :S

Thing is, I agree with you. Just saying what the masses say.

Heck, I'm not going to get a single Star with those prices. >.>

I'll get a Black Kopaka Sword some other way. Probably the only piece I want out of all of them.

The only thing in the Stars line that really interests me is the two-toned Ackar sword, which I know will look great with my revamped Tahu Mistika. I'll most likely order it on Bricklink, as nothing else in the Stars Tahu would be of use to me, and I don't want to display the set without all of its key elements present.
