hewkii9 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I want to know more about the Blacktron-colored shark, but this theme looks pretty good, actually. Quote
mikey Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) ...Lord Octopus there is so full of Lovecraftian awesomeness ... He's coming to rape the minds of all my other Minifigs! IA IA! Absolutely, and whilst the Lego Company will market this theme with the glimmer of hope that the human's will win in thier battle with the unknown... I am quite sure that when faced with the might of Atlantis these pathetic MiniFig pests will be crushed, never to reach the surface again... Edited September 20, 2009 by mikey Quote
Nich Artri Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Interesting take on an underwater theme...still, I might be giving this a pass... That octopus king does look pretty sweet though. As Deinonychus said; Lovecraftian awesomeness! Quote
Matn Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 LEGO Atlantis looks awesome so far. That's all I have to say for now. Quote
Oky Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I really like the look of that ruins set. The squid fig is awesome, as are all the dark tan and pearl gold pieces. If it didn't come with all those vehicles etc., I would have gotten it, but this way it'll be too expensive for me. I might get that Underwater podracer though. Looks like a cool set, and it comes with a shark fig. Those boxes look waaaay out of proportion with each other...Any "base" set is usually the largest in a wave. Perhaps... But it also has a lower number than the big submarine. It's one of the largest, but not THE largest. I think that this thread should be moved to the Action themes section, because I tried looking for this thread there, but I couldn't find it. I happened to come across it here, and I don't understand why its in General Discussion... I agree. So... Please, mods? Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Lovecraftian Minifigs ftw! The head and legs are absolutely cool. I like the use of the keys as functions in the sets. Quote
Oswald the Rabbit Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 That Octoman will make the perfect bottom for a Disney Ursala. Quote
Oky Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 That Octoman will make the perfect bottom for a Disney Ursala. That's exactly what I thought! But it would need to be black. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 This theme doesn't do much for me, Other than the ruins, I will not get another set, unless there is one for $10 USD with some new fig or piece. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Hey look, is that a clearer and final image of that set everyone was ripping into earlier? These all look awesome. Who is sensing a "Disney Classics" coming soon (with Little Mermaid...) what with all those new parts. I love the sea creatures and the diving gear looks great IRL. Can't wait for these to turn up in shops! Quote
Batbrick Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Wow...Lord Octopus there is so full of Lovecraftian awesomeness that he just made the Octopus Gate set there a must-buy for me. He's coming to rape the minds of all my other Minifigs! IA IA! Lego Cthulu! Lovecraftian Minifigs ftw! The head and legs are absolutely cool. I like the use of the keys as functions in the sets. That's the first thing I though of when I saw that fig; lil' Chuthlu! Loving just about everything in this theme. The figs looks sweet, the divers gear especially. The sharkhead man is beautiful and I will get him, no matter the set price! This theme is definitely beating AquaRaiders - which I loved - already! The red and trans green colours and sleek style of the vehicles is great, and I can't wait to add another badass squid to the collection. The only thing I'm not sure about is the shark, which hopefully will look better with a clearer pic from a better angle. I'll definitely be guying up a lot of this theme. Batbrick Away! Quote

If it didn't come with all those vehicles etc., I would have gotten it, but this way it'll be too expensive for me. It has no vehicles at all! Unless you would count the two squids as vehicles. The little scooter goes to Neptune's sub so this set will probably be $30-$40. It's kinda funny that the animals ar cyborgs because I've recently built and cyborg angler fish with a rocket launcher on its back along with a croc with a harpoon cannon and submarine jets. :EDIT: It looks as if the squid gate has a shark man too! Oky Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Yes, I meant the squid. I think it can seat a fig, but I could be wrong. Now that you mention it, it's strange that they had the little scooter, but not the big sub itself. I think the ruins set will be $40 at least. Who said the animals are cyborgs? I don't see any technology on them. And I don't think there is a sharkman in that set. That's probably just a mistake by the people who set this display up. There was no sharkman on the prelim box art at least. Quote

And if it does'nt go to the set then why is there another one by the podracer turbojet? Kinda strange. Quote
Oky Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 The animals have circuitry patterns all over them! Oh, you mean the giant shark and Squid? Yeah, that's why I thought they are vehicles. The sharkman in front of the turbojet belongs in that set. He is on the prelim box art. I don't know where the one in the ruins set belongs to though. Maybe he comes with the giant shark set? Quote
phillip10 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 the atlantis sets, space police and power miners are what i want in 2010 Quote
user Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) Check out the new teeth on the squid and shark! Edited September 20, 2009 by computerbug Quote

Yeah I pretty much agree with this. I like the way the others look but I really am only big fan of the minifigures and the squid set so I would rather spend the money on new Star Wars. Quote

Suit yourself I for one am getting every set just like I did for the first wave of PM SP3 and agents! I am glad to see that "Lights" was right! This is not power miners at all it is something completely new! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Squidman has a new meaning in Atlantis than it does in Space Police. Quote
darkrebellion Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 You know when I first heard about this theme I got pretty excited becuase of the possibilities . Looking at some of them now I feel somehow dissapointed . The minifigs look FANTASTIC I really, really love that Octopus-Mermaid King minifig it looks GREAT and one of the best minifigs I have ever seen but the minifigs just doesn´t justify purchase a set of $50 . Then sets themselves look pretty lackluster to me. All of them look well... they doesn´t seem to have anything in common at all . Quote
Oky Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Check out the new teeth on the squid and shark! Yeah, I already noticed those. Pretty cool IMO. They are also at the back of the shark in black! Then sets themselves look pretty lackluster to me. All of them look well... they doesn´t seem to have anything in common at all . How so? All of them have divers, submarines, sea creatures, and those colorful artifacts. The submarines have a red and trans-lime color scheme whereas the Atlanteans have gold and dark-colored color scheme. All the sets have that in common, so I don't see your problem. Quote
JimBee Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 These look great! I especially like those red vehicles and the one with the gold gates. What's up with the squid king? Is it just the upper body of a minifig attached to the top of an octopus piece, or is the octopus piece modified from the original? In any case, I'm loving all of the new head molds and prints. Quote
