Commander Assassin Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I would rather spend the money on new Star Wars. Those were my thoughts exactly! Can't wait for the ARC-170! I do like the look of the PoP sets though. Quote
TheShnomon Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) That ruins set is so damn cool! I'm sooo looking forward to this! These guys make great alien-like figs for the SP3 line. And the Squid King is looking great! edit: Anyone else getting the urge to army build Squidman? >.> Edited September 21, 2009 by TheShnomon Quote
phillip10 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 i need those sets they are awesome sauce! I loved aquaraiders hopefully this is as good Quote
RileyC Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 atlantis kinda looks fairly average to me. Sure they are some pretty good looking minifigs for this theme but the vehicles are quite average imo Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 atlantis kinda looks fairly average to me. Sure they are some pretty good looking minifigs for this theme but the vehicles are quite average imo That's my complaint with everything I have seen for next year, it's all just the average crap. Some things have nice new minifigures, but besides that there really isn't anything new. Quote
Earendil Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Have you already seen this set? http://www.legoland.cz/images/lego/atlantis_2010.jpg Edited September 21, 2009 by Earendil Quote
Algernon Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Why don't any of the pictures work? Anyway, I'm falling in love with this theme. The minifigs are top-notch (those divers are freaking awesome) and the vehicles do look pretty cool, even if I'm not sold on the red color scheme (and it's way better than lime green and orange). The Atlantians look great too. So far I think this theme has a ton of potential. Have you already seen this set? This is one of the best vehicles in my opinion. But the other sets have cooler Atlantians. I'm getting Alpha Team + Aquanauts vibes from this theme, which is awesome. The Green Brick Giant Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) Have you already seen this set? I just realized that the huge engine base of that is actually the cement truck mixer piece. Edited September 21, 2009 by Svelte Do NOT post (or quote) confidential pics Quote
______ Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Squiddy guys head in green could be Davy Jones! Quote

Some things have nice new minifigures, but besides that there really isn't anything new. "Average crap"? Does that make any sense? Crap is terrible, but you call the sets average. This is one of the best vehicles in my opinion. But the other sets have cooler Atlantians.I'm getting Alpha Team + Aquanauts vibes from this theme, which is awesome. Yes that vehicle is sweet, I hope I can get it, though I'll be on a tighter budget next year. I'm also getting that vibe too. Plus with those Atlantean figures I'll be able to make an underwater post-apoc creation! And Lovecraft! :skull: Batbrick Away! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 "Average crap"? Does that make any sense? Crap is terrible, but you call the sets average. Because the average is terrible, aka crap. Most of the construction sets were bad, most of the Farm sets were lacking, this is continuing that. This is the average stuff produced by LEGO, the average Fire crap Lego produces. So it's average and it's crap, so it's average crap. Quote
Svelte Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Just a reminder not to post or quote pics watermarked with PRELIMINARY or CONFIDENTIAL. You can link to these images, but not deeplink to them. The flickr pics which are NOT watermarked are absolutely fine. Quote
JCC1004 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Mrtools, you were right. Lego is going to kill my wallet next year. SW, PoP, Anlantis, and Indy if it is out. Once we get better picture of the figs in particular. I'm considering collecting this theme. I like the color sceme of the sets. They subs and such look very funtureistic. Is the The box picture of the ruins make them look bigger and better. Not to mention all of the awsome parts. Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Some of those are kind of neat. I can probably use the ruins for some interesting MOCs. Other than that... meh. Quote

So it's average and it's crap, so it's average crap. Okay, I'm going to stop trying to derive sense from you. Average is not even close to approaching "crap", it's square in the middle; neither great nor terrible. You can say it is crap that we have got so many average sets however. Anyway, I'm happy with the sets, hopefully there's even more cool minifigs of Atlanteans. Batbrick Away! Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I think that the Atlantean minifigs will be invaluable to the collector in that they could also be VERY useful in Space MOCs. Especially the Cthulhu King. I am also liking the shield/key things. And that they have function. All in all, this is pretty darn creative and I'm really excited to see what the summer has to offer for this series. Quote

Why don't you just buy megabloks if Lego is so bad? @Batbrick: He's basically saying that most Lego sets are crap, hence my above comment. On topic: This is one of the best vehicles in my opinion. But the other sets have cooler Atlantians.I'm getting Alpha Team + Aquanauts vibes from this theme, which is awesome. I agree. It looks very unique, unlike anything we have seen so far. If I had all the money in the world, it would definitely be on my to-buy list. Quote
TheShnomon Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Wow. Some AFOL you are. Why don't you just buy megabloks if Lego is so bad? The ultimate insult has been played, gentlemen. So about how much do you all predict The Ruins set will be? I'm hoping not above 50. I need that octopus king! He looks so great, he makes up for the fact Lego has yet to do a Garindan! Quote
Svelte Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Let's keep it civil in here. Fun fact: the Walrus has already chambered 3 members in the last hour... and I just know he's hungry for more souls miscreants Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I quite like these! The figs are really good, and the subs/vehicles look pretty decent! Although the one set with ruins in it are awesome!!! I would've like some more sets with some scenery and ruins though But overall a pretty cool new theme! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Wow. Some AFOL you are. Why don't you just buy megabloks if Lego is so bad? :hmpf: What a childish reply, isn't there age limits for people to use the internet? No matter how bad the LEGO DESIGNS are at least the bricks, most of the time, snap together and hold together. LEGO designs suck a lot of the time, they are poorly thought out, and made only to look good on a box(like the Castle from a few years ago), however if the sets are cheap enough at least they are fixable. You can't fix a broken block. Quote

You can't fix a broken block. Fair enough. Sorry, I didn't mean to insult you, even though I used the M-word. I was trying to be sarcastic in order to show how much you were exaggerating by saying "Lego products are crap". If you would have said that you only meant the designs, we would have never had this misunderstanding. And trust me, I'm 21. Back on topic: So about how much do you all predict The Ruins set will be? Peppermint_M Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 So who thinks there should be a walrus figure? They are aquatic after all, and everyone loves anthropomorphised walruses! I must own shark-man, I also must have as many diving suits as I can lay my hands on. The sets could do with more scenery (as earlier comments suggest) and maybe be paired with accessory packs (Like in the past) of seaweed and other underwater vegetation. They are of an interesting design and have piqued my interest (hmm interesting theme is interesting...) , the seeming end of Agents won't be so bad with all these other themes. Quote
