Oky Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Squidguy(s) is(are) fig(s) who, I think are minions of the Chutulu Guy, not a set. So, it's one of these guys? Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 So, it's one of these guys? I thought those guys looked more like manta rays... Quote
posades Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I thought those guys looked more like manta rays... Yeah they do look more like rays, perhaps something got lost in translation and that's what they originally meant? Quote
Batbrick Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Not trying to be disrespectful to any members here, but what's up with all the hype about Cthulhu? He's no big deal, and personally I've always found him kind of boring and highly overrated and overused. Blasphemy! He insults the word of the Necronomicon, that has foretold the Elder One Cthulhu's return! Slay him! Slay Hiiiiiiiim! In all seriousness, it's because Cthulhu is made of pure, world ending awesome. And now we get to have him in Lego form....sort of. Batbrick Away! Quote
Deinonychus Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Hey, I'd be just as excited if there were LEGO sets that could easily be made into Edgar Allen Poe characters and situations. It's just a general old-school horror goodness that's missing in a lot of things these days. More psycological without having to be suspenseful or gory. I'm also glad I may get a shot at improving my old Vignette Quote
Batbrick Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Hey, I'd be just as excited if there were LEGO sets that could easily be made into Edgar Allen Poe characters and situations. You'll probably just have to settle for The Raven Seriously though I agree with you, old-school cosmic horror plays on the biggest fears of all; the unkown, and that human life is meaningless. Batbrick Away! Quote
Raphy Posted September 27, 2009 Author Posted September 27, 2009 Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" is my favorite poem. :D I'm a sucker for eerieness. Quote
supertoad64 Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) Wow, those beasts sure are awesome. Especially the king squid. I think LEGO has the right idea with the smaller sets as I went to Target today, and all the small Space Police sets were completely sold out! I think parents really like being able to buy the cheaper sets and kids really like getting new monsters in each of them. I'm still a little disappointed there aren't merpeople in Atlantis. That would have really made me happy. Can't really complain, though, since the figs are so cool! Edited September 27, 2009 by supertoad64 Quote
---Vertea--- Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I like that I can still score some monsters without buying the uber-expensive larger sets. Though I MIGHT slurge a little and get the Octopus Gate for Mr. Cthulhufig Quote
Rocketbilly Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Is it just me, or will it be a little more difficult to collect the "Baddie" figs with this theme? With Space Police, you get one of the more collectable "Baddies" in each set, except, of course, for the one impulse. Sure, Snake's repeated a lot but you STILL get the fig. From what I've seen for Atlantis, you only get them in a few sets, am I correct? I don't think there's one in any of the sets below what I presume is £10 - apart from the impulse we've ehard of, that is. I hope I'm proven wrong. Will/Rocketbilly Quote

---Vertea--- Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I see no pics and it would help to have some form of translation. Quote

You get what 'half expected December' means, right? You get half of the bricks in the set in December and the other half in January 2010. (seriously: they'll be available half way through December) Quote

Mission Commander Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) I really like this theme, the under heads will help for my moc sith. Edited October 2, 2009 by Mission Commander Quote
Wout Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I'd also like some clarification over the "squidguy" thing. When you say squidguy do you mean the blue stingray head guy or the red squidking? I just can't see them putting squidking in a impulse. Although it'd be sweet as hell, it's unrealistic, it'd be like putting a Skull Twin or the Troll King in an impulse. With Squidguy I mean the blue head guy with normal legs, not the Red Chutulu guy. The face of the blue guy looks for me also a squid/octopus like creature, so I called them Squid guys Quote
Batbrick Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Neptune Mothership sounds fantastic. It will probably be the Divers vehicle, but I still hope it's a crazy half organic looking Cthulhu faction ship. Batbrick Away! Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I'm looking forward to this theme now, at first I had my doubts but with alot of the themes I have doubts about from blury pictures it get better and better looking. I can't wait though maybe they could wait till after the new pirate ships released so it doesn't hurt my wallet to much. Quote
RocketClone Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Hmm i guess they took down some (or all) of the pics sorry it also wouldnt let me right click the pics or the words to decode. Edited October 4, 2009 by RocketClone Quote

Nightshroud99 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I am looking forward to these new sets and especially the figures! With the new Imperial Flagship coming out I can see some Pirates of the Carribean Flying Dutchman ship mocs with those sea creature figs Quote
