Lego Atlantis on legoworld 2009

O_O How was this done? It's rather a lot what I imagine a drug trip being like, actually :tongue:

And what was with them playing "Up is Down" from the POTC:AWE soundtrack? Was there a trippy-laser show of a POTC brand, too :laugh:?

Also, I've managed to talk my mom into going to TRU wednesday :classic: . Don't worry, if I get a set I'll do a review.

Atlantis was semi-religious socio-political commentary on Ancient Greece, written by Plato. It could be considered the first polictical editorial essay. It was at no time real. It's just fun to think that it was, and it makes for a really good fiction story :classic:

Okay, now you're just showing off.

Batbrick Away! :devil:

Seeing that Youtube footage reminded me of what I watched yesterday on Network Nine Australia's new digital channel 'GO', it was the 1966 classic show 'Marine Boy'. Complete with robot sharks, of course a boy hero who breathe above and below the water, and then there were the Ocean Patrol vessels. Of which I just MOC one in the future.

Having watched a doco in National Geophapic Channel a while back, Atlanis could have been in many different locations and the triangle, there again many different ideas on another NatGeo doco I saw. So both are clouded in mystery, that's why so people are interested, lots of us love a good mystery and to question.

And a parting thought, since Time-Warner and lego signed their deal for Ben 10, Cartoon Network has Batman - The Brave & The Bold which there is 'Aquaman' appearing quite offen and he lives in ATLANTIS. Good cross-over of themes, what do you think ?

Here is a much better version of the laser show:

name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>">

Quite awesome IMO. :thumbup: And not only because Lego + lasers = pure win. :tongue: Now we know why the weapons on the Turbojet face backwards! :sweet:

Also, at the end, I think it says that the sets are available in the second half of December, but my dutch aint all that good. It definitely says December though, not November as some were hoping.

Well, I wasn't THAT far off. :grin: Okay, I'll write that down so I don't make another stupid comment. :laugh:

Picture list (so you don't have to browse to 43 pages to see what's already been posted... like me).

- Link to close up pictures of the actual Atlantis sets and elements.

- Link to the box-art and close up of the minifigures.

That is very old news sorry. :hmpf_bad:

You didn't really get the purpose of Kirk's post, did you? :tongue:

Those links are in the first post. :wink: They have been for a long time that's what I meant.

The official site is on (and slowly loading). Credits to Brickset for the heads-up.

Edit: loading stops at 70% :sceptic:

loaded very quickly for me :-) I'm searching the sea bottom now.

Ended up downloading a software that enables exploration of the new Lego Atlantis as a desktop application.

Atlantis fact:

:-(

Every year over 100 million sharks are killed by people fishing for them.

btw. built a couple of sets today :-) cough, cough

minisite worked five for me. I was especially intrigued by the old, rotting submarine and expedition journal. Perhaps a former mission will play into the plot, and maybe into some second-wave sets? That would be ver' cool.

At the bottom of the atlantis page it says:

COMING SOON: 1-04-10.

Looks, like we have an official S@H date, but it's in January :sceptic: . Oh well, TRU will probably get some in earlier like always.

I'm going to TRU in Florida tomorrow. Fingers crossed for early sets :sweet:

I guess that the Nov. 24 on the back of the mag is the date for more content on the site, not the launch itself.
