Found and bought the Typhoon Turbo Sub at a Los Angeles, CA TRU this morning. :classic: It was the only Atlantis set they had. They also put out the new Space Police sets. So the new Lego sets are starting to hit the market.

Yeah, the new Bionicle sets have been spotted too.

I'm really excited about this, I'm heading out to town today, I might find some.

Those sets are looking good! I like the use of creative set names instead of just something like "Shark Attack".

I love the gigantic, full color advertisements on the back of the instruction manuals. Those are my favorite parts of the booklet.

The minifigs are very detailed (even the "feet" are printed)!

The new minifig heads are very cool, too.

The crab isn't as great as I thought, but still good enough for me to get. I always get the cheaper sets in the themes other than Star Wars.

The new medium sized "horn" pieces are awesome. They'll be useful for making claws on a monster's hands and feet. :sweet:

The shark makes a great $15 USD set! It's funny how it looks menacing only when viewed at certain angles.

The abundance of teeth in various sizes are a great addition - it makes the shark look as if it could swallow some divers whole!

Overall it looks very interesting, and it's pretty cheap for a shark set. I think that LEGO overused the new horn piece, though (according to this picture, there are 13 in the set, along with 12 smaller ones!).

The submarine is actually much better than I expected. I thought that it was going to have lots of holes and gaps in the base, but it looks very sturdy. The included shark minifig is just amazing. It's very detailed, and the trident is also better than what I thought it was going to be like.

Atlantis looks like a very promising theme! :sweet:

I'm lucky enough to live somewhat in the area of the store they bought it from and went out and bought one a few hours ago, and I think violent is a good word to describe it. The video they posted actually looks smoother than mine and I haven't even finished putting on the motors, which will add some mass to it. I don't think a little kid would have enough motor control not to pull it apart. I'll try and post a review tomorrow once I finish putting it together.

I will say this, I'm very happy with it, but not with the flipping mechanism. Atlantis is part of the reason I got back into LEGO, and it's actually why I registered on Eurobricks once I saw somebody that had bought one of them. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have gotten one so soon. I had to think long and hard between the Guardian of the Deep and Space Police 5981 (Raid VPR), because the Guardian of the Deep does look good.

After initially being put off, I am now totally in love with the Atlantis theme! Checked my local Toys R Us today with no success, but I will check the one near my job in the morning. Cannot wait to get these!!

Make sure you look all over the Toys R Us. If I hadn't read that some of them have a LEGO section up front and then a LEGO section elsewhere in the store, I would have missed out on a set. The one I went had what looked to be a full stocked LEGO section at the front of the store in addition to two aisles in the building toys/educational area.

No luck thus far. I have a feeling a few are going to pop up soon, since I did however manage to pick up a new Power Miners set(which almost made up for it) as well as a new SP3.

Which one?

I just aquired the turbo sub set and wanted to convey some of the questions I had answered and observations.

The atlantis key piece; it has a 1x1 cylinder like connection on the bottom with an ability to turn an axle but not grip to it. It will connect to a stud or between 4 studs.

The diver's headgear is compatable with the astronaut's chrome blue and gold visors.

Shark warrior has some atlantian patterns on top of its head and has a lateral hole within his mouth in wich a lightsaber blade shaped piece may fit.

There are a couple 1x3 smooth red plates in the sub set.

When flipping the sub's mechanism, If you dont lock the clip to the handle pieces it moves quite smoothly... but once you do lock them in, it does become a jerky maneuver to release it.

Btw, the turbo sub was the only set available my area of Kansas City so far but I will "collect them all!"

I can't wait for a manta warrior set so I can see what if any secrets he holds under his mantastic head.

Have you given any thought to replacing the flipping mechanism and mounting the engines permanently in place and perhaps covering that area or doing something else with it?

I'm really anticipating this line and I already love the diversity of small, medium and large sets plus the colorfulness of the models and the packacking; almost can't wait to get my hands on my first Atlantis set.

I believe it's for the buggy; it drives in between the engines and gets lifted up into the body.
