EspEth12 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 FINALLY we get to see the interior of the base/sub! Quote
metalandi Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Yep, and disappointment rises in my eyes when i see it. I think it's almost as plain and simple as it can possibly get I really expected more, since there is quite a lot of space inside it. Also i don't really know why there is a keyboard between 2 yellow plates and a fish besides it. How come they can PACK the new hogwarts castle with as much interior as possible, and at this set there is a big lack of it? Quote
Bfahome Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Can anyone who's been to TF confirm anything about the portal function? Quote
EspEth12 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) I like the min subs in the deep sea striker set and HQ. Can anyone who's been to TF confirm anything about the portal function? Not yet. more picture from the toyfair. Showing the HQ transformed and boxart for the Deep Sea Striker. EDIT: No way the deep sea striker is $19.99 USD, for 442 pieces. I hope thats true though! gusmoore17 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I imagined worst things, but actually i'm really loving the HQ, I think it's a big step on Lego design, as the Shark Portal set is, I'm really amazed with these sets! Quote
EspEth12 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I sure hope that is the real price for the Deep Sea Striker. $19.99, for 442 pieces. Legos finally decided to down there prices. Quote

Legos finally decided to down there prices. And I hope I get a unicorn for Easter! I can't even imagine the set being able to have 400+ pieces, but I so so sooooo hope I'm wrong. : I'm thinking the base/sub set has 4-- pieces and they printed it on the wrong box, LEGO has done that before. Johnny Lazarus Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I like how the transforming sub somewhat resembles Nite Owl's ship from Watchmen. :) Quote
EspEth12 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I read somewhere saying it's 260 pieces which is still pretty good. hehe, of course! Lego will never stop being expensive! I doubt lego will make it $19.99 for 442 or 260 (if thats real) they'll probally make it $29.99 Quote
Derek Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Remember that crawler vehicle that we saw from the Finnish (?) Lego site? I think that it was supposed to come with the scorpion (and have the 4-- pieces), and they probably took it out and forgot to change the piece count. There is no way that scorpion has upwards of 400 pieces... However, I do hope they put that crawler in another set, it was nice... Quote
MrTools Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I have to say, when the sets first came out i showed no interest at all (aside buying one or two small ones for the minifigures) but after seeing the second wave i am really starting to like them! Quote

TheBrickDaddy Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I like how the transforming sub somewhat resembles Nite Owl's ship from Watchmen. :) Amen to that, my friend! One of the greatest pieces of literature ever. Sorry, now on topic: Remember that crawler vehicle that we saw from the Finnish (?) Lego site? Haha, no that crawler vehicle is part of a special edition set coming out later this year, I believe it is called 'Undersea Explorer'- check Brickset AND TO END THE DEBATE- THE DEEP SEA STRIKER DOES NOT HAVE 442 PIECES. It has 260. Lego's preliminary box art always puts either XXX or 442 as the piece count, no one knows why but that's just how they do it. It's not the actual piece count. Was that clear enough for you? Quote
Aethersprite Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 That Deep Sea Striker's badass. At $19.99, it's one set I'm definitely getting. The Shark Castle and sub don't disappoint as well - my only resentment is that the orc man only comes in the Shark Castle set, which is really expensive. Quote

PerryDaPirate Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) That looks great! Awesome addition to the set! what about a manta ray ? they're harmless, yet they made it a guardian. They could make a nautilus aggressive in the theme too. harmless, eh? Edited February 16, 2010 by PerryDaPirate Quote

Batbrick Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 harmless, eh? Oh dear grief, this slice of black humour is so funny I nearly wet myself! The new sets look really good espeically that mechanism on the large set. Unfortunately the tan I'd hoped for is not present so there won't be a lot of expense flowing from me for these sets. Batbrick Away! Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Oh my goodness. The portal's spiral function I wanted is really there! I seriously did not expect that was true (although I did notice the horizontal placement of a ring meant it would spin). This function will be good for science-fiction doorways, airlocks, etc. Hmm, the transparent blue pieces have been changed, I think. They now are wedge-shaped. Quote
metalandi Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Could ypu please link to the gallery where these 2 pictures are from (i think it's a different gallery than ftbt's) Quote

Prime Brick Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I like how these sets are really cheap compared to other themes such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones Quote
