Here's a great way to army build Squid King figs - one with each book :oh::thumbup:

*snip*

Wow! Only about $3.50 each...that's like an impulse set! :oh:

Free shipping too!

But the question we're all dying to hear the answer to is: is the quality of the plastic normal or Chinese?

It's hard to tell with the proper sets anyway - that's what sucks about the Chinese move. The 'rings' are bagged separately. But I wouldn't be surprised if the complicated printed headpieces of the figs like the shark dude, manta or Squiddy came from China as well :sceptic:

This image does show a torso with neck mark but it is likely just a mock-up anyway.

I'm willing to bet half the purchases of that will be for the figure alone.

Although I clicked the link a couple of times, and I noticed that the price went up to $5.91 the second time, so not quite as worth it as I previously thought. :| What the Karz it went back down to $3.74.

Cheap!

Interesting... I was just noticing a Polish version of a similar book yesterday among the upcoming releases from http://www.ameet.pl (I check periodically because this is the company that often publishes LEGO and BIONICLE books in Europe, so it's a good place to learn about that stuff in advance).

Difference is, the Polish version comes with a sharkman. I haven't bothered running the title through Google Translate, so I can't be sure it's the same book, but... it looks similar. Perhaps there'll be a variety of books with different figs?

Although the squid guys are cool, I'd rather the green dude with armor from the portal set. May get some squidies though.

Coolio! Nice find Svelte! Unfortunately, my Lego budget doesn't allow for Atlantis, but for those of you with an extensive collection, I can imagine you are truly thrilled!

And a Polish version with a sharkman? Wow! Now there's a convenient way to build up armies of all the sea creatures except the Orc-ish one in the portal set.

Unfortunately the price of the book has already risen from about $3.50 to $5.84 USD. :sceptic:

Still cheap, but a bit disappointing as I was thinking about buying it a month of so before the release. Hopefully the price will drop back to 50% off...

There's also an English version of the book with the shark minifig:

The price seems to be fluctuating randomly. One minute it's 50% off then the next it's 25% off. I suppose it rewards those people who have good timing.

Huh, I'm noticing something weird. If you click on the links for the first time on your "Internet session," the price shows as 51% off. If you click it another time, the price goes back to 25% off.

What I meant is that when you click the links on the previous page for the first time, the items are on sale for 51% off. If you click on the link again, the price then changes to only 25% off. If you close your Internet browser and reopen it, then click on the link again, it shows it as 51% off. Hopefully that makes sense.

I just realized that the first time I click the link it redirects me to an identical page at bookdepository.com, but the second time it doesn't redirect me and I stay on bookdepository.co.uk. That's probably why the prices are different; technically they're different listings.

Hey check out this new picture of Mr. Gillz! :cry_happy:

Say, have the eyes been changes? They look a bit different, or larger.

I don't think it's a large grin, but probably markings. If it is, then it's a bit ironic. The helmet makes it look angry with the jagged teeth at an angle.

I'm pretty sure they're gills why do you think I called him that? Anyway the eyes used to look like the manta mans eyes on a green head so they do look different.
