5150 Lego Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Looks good. Ilike it. I would change the front wind sheild to one that slopes forward instead of back. Other than that i think you captured it very well. Quote
danim Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 i have just modified the front of it and here are a couple of new pics Quote
Marko Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Nice, it is good to see again boat MOC here. I thought that there is nothing to do with the large RIB base but you have taken it into quite purposeful use. Good job. Is there any real boat similar to yours? Quote
danim Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) yes the US Coast Guard defender here is a photo of it from wiki and the wiki description of it The USCG Defender class boat, also called response boat-small (RB-S), is a standard boat introduced by the United States Coast Guard in July 2003. The Coast Guard plans to replace a mixture of older boats with up to 700 Defender class vessels. Ralph_S Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I too have one of those bases and didn't really know what to do with it. When I saw the first pictures of the MOC I wasn't too convinced that this was a good idea. However, the photograph of the real boat made it clear that you've actually done a pretty good job and the improved version is even better. Nice. Cheers, Ralph Quote
