Etzel Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Im sorry, This may sound stupid but I dont really understand what this is. Can someone explain it to me without all the LUG and numbers? Thanks Well, not without LUG because that is what it's all about. It's like Pick-A-Brick for LUGs (LEGO User Groups) but with a much wider selection. There are some rules to clarify what your LUG has to do to be able to use this service, and there are some rules about how to use the service. Quote

blueandwhite Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 So its sort of like a Bricklink, But not from diffrent people all over the world, Just from Lego? Sort of. It's exclusive to LEGO User's Groups that qualify (i.e. clubs that have 10 or more members and do 2+ shows a year). The benefit of course is that it should provide those clubs the opportunity to get bricks that are hard to come by for the general public. What bricks are going to be made available seems to be the topic of some debate. What exactly constitutes an "active element" is a bit unclear but discussion seems to suggest that it includes any non-licenced brick currently in production. Whether that is limited to colours that the element is currently produced in seems to be a bit unclear. It would also seem that pricing is considerably better than what is made available to non-LUG members. The program seems to reward LUGs for actively promoting the hobby on a local level. Unlike Bricklink or PaB, this is not an open market. This will only be available to LUG members. Quote

Rick Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Im guessing we are going to be getting many more "idle" members to this site just so they can get a hold of the advantage. I think we concluded earlier that EB isn't a LUG as TLG defines it, since a LUG has to host/attend shows according to the LUGBULK criteria. Quote
Teddy Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 *** side note *** Hi all, just got back from my holliday. *************** I've been asking Lego for bulk order rebates/ discounts. So I was quite enthousiastic wen I found this topic. But 200 DKK... I could not even build half a deck for my Victory from that. Maybe, me and CGH (CBH?) should start our own LUG and subscribe 8 family members (grandma, grandpa) and order 2000DKK amongst the two of us. Quote
Classicsmiley Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Have any European LUGs actually started the process for this yet? Quote
stuifzand Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) Have any European LUGs actually started the process for this yet? Yes, at Lowlug we have. Behind the scenes though. There is a lot of interest in this from our members. I understand the ambassadors are discussing this at their site and we are waiting for that. So, not really started the process, but we are working on it. Edited August 28, 2009 by stuifzand Quote
