Klaus-Dieter Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Hello everybody! TLG is offering the awesome 10199 Winter Toy Shop to us this winter which is imo a brilliant set. There are surely many under you which would like to build up a whole winter village, too. The only problem is: one house doesn't make a whole small village. So minimum two more houses are needed. Because of this I thought that it would be interesting and nice to share our thoughts and wishes for add-ons to the amazing 10199 Winter Toy Shop here. So please share your wishes and thoughts with us here! Klaus-Dieter Quote

AgentRick Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 We need at least a 1800 styled Horse Drawn Carriage for this set. It would add to the set so well with a few extra passengers. Quote
prateek Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 We need a horse carriage and a candy shop/bakery, like the one in HP Prisoner of Azkaban Quote
marvinblue Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Winter Family House winter family house (first floor: living room with Christmas tree and big chimney with light brick, little kitchen and entrance; second room: bedroom, bathroom and small round balcony) with winter garden with fence, mail box, snowman and igloo including a blue car, some cups, a suitcase, some toys, skis, ski sticks, a shovel and some other tools minifigs: husband, wife, son and daughter Winter Ski Shop winter ski shop including a some skis, ski sticks, snowboards, helmets with and without gloves and a bonnet minifigs: shop owner and boy Santa Claus' Carriage Santa Claus' Carriage including two until four reindeer, a lot of toys and gifts minifigs: Santa Claus and girl And what about your wishes and thoughts? Klaus-Dieter I reckon these ideas are winners for a village! Also, maybe a Town Hall with nice big windows out front to light up, or a Church with large double doors to light up. Either of them to have with a lamp and park bench out front and a few more carollers and/or figs (both adults and children) to add some atmosphere. Quote
saberwing Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I like almost all of your ideas. I was thinking about a park with a frozen lake with 2 people iceskating (maybe one with a chair?), 2 kids with a sled, and a dutch koek and zopie stand. (a small stand on or near the ice where they sell food and coffee or chocolate milk.) Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 These are all awesome ideas you posted here! I really hope that TLG will take the one or other idea and release it! Or even better: release a whole winter theme! christmas decorationsdecorate lego city with lights and hollys as well as a whote lot of white bricks to use as snow Snow Plough there is a snow drift in lego city, the roads are blocked, its time for the new city snow plough. Perfect for clearing roads with the large snow plough on the front and at the rear a hopper containing grit to stop the snow forming again minifigs included are snow plough driver and pedestrian These are great ideas, danim! A snow plough is indeed needed for a winter village - and would btw be very much liked by all JFOLs. Some winter decorations would be great, too, especially some street lights like the one in 10199 in order to add them to your street(plate)s. We need at least a 1800 styled Horse Drawn Carriage for this set. It would add to the set so well with a few extra passengers. This would indeed be a very nice addition, AgentRick57! Perhaps with three people looking like the two singers in 10199? We need a horse carriage and a candy shop/bakery, like the one in HP Prisoner of Azkaban You're absolutely right, prateek - a candy shop ! How could I only forget this?! I reckon these ideas are winners for a village! Also, maybe a Town Hall with nice big windows out front to light up, or a Church with large double doors to light up. Either of them to have with a lamp and park bench out front and a few more carollers and/or figs (both adults and children) to add some atmosphere. Thanks, marvinblue. A winterly town hall and a church would be of course great, too! I was thinking about a park with a frozen lake with 2 people iceskating (maybe one with a chair?), 2 kids with a sled, and a dutch koek and zopie stand. (a small stand on or near the ice where they sell food and coffee or chocolate milk.) That's a great idea, saberwing! A frozen lake with a stand where you can buy hot drinks and something to eat and some ice skaters would be brilliant! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 A new idea: Ski Bus a bus (same or simiar to the one in 7641) with a ski box on its back including two suitcases, four skis and four ski sticks minifigs: bus driver, woman and boy What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Quote

danim Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 a ski lift to get to the top of the ski slope, similar to a cable car system a snow search and rescue vehicle similar to Ratchet from Transformers Quote
Oky Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 How about some Christmas Carol Scenes? Like Ebenezer Scrooge's residence/place of business for example. A frozen pond with people ice skating on it would be neat too. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) holiday train a PF locomotive and some carriges and trucks, much like the first holiday train I totally agree with you, muffinman42. Although we had a Christmas Train some years ago (which I regrettably missed) I really would like to get a new Christmas Train. Since TLG has now this PF functions for trains, too, and the special parts to desgin a perfect looking locomotive a new Christmas Train would indeed be more expensive but even look much better and realistic. Btw: Welcome to EB, muffinman42! a ski lift to get to the top of the ski slope, similar to a cable car systema snow search and rescue vehicle similar to Ratchet from Transformers These are great ideas, danim! A ski piste with ski lift, a snow hut with small restaurant and some skiers and snowboarders would be awesome! And a snow rescue vehicle - at the best a whole snow rescue HQ with a helicopter, a snowmobile and an all-terrain vehicle would be brilliant, too! How about some Christmas Carol Scenes? Like Ebenezer Scrooge's residence/place of business for example. Do you mean an on Christmas Carol licensed set or "only" a set with a residence/place that looks similar to it? If you did think of it being non-licensed then this would be a great idea, Oky Wan Kenobi! Some more buildings in older architectual design (like the buildings in the awesome 10188 Town Plan or the brilliant Winter Toy Shop 10199) would be awesome! Oh, I thought you were gathering ideas for MOCs, not for things for TLC to actually produce. What I meant was a set based on the original book by Charles Dickens, considering it wouldn't need licensing (and therefore overly high prices) since the Hans Christian Andersen Bucket didn't need licensing either. But I suppose sets based on the upcoming Disney adaption would work too. Other ideas I would have: An updated Holiday Train and a Lego Gingerbread House (even though it wouldn't fit in a City setting). Quote

Widdi Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Man I'll have to think about some ideas. Snow Fun With sled, snowman and a gentle slope on a 16x16 or a 16x24 slope. Minifigs: 2 small kids, and two adults. 15€ Chairlift Big set with a Classic motorized single chair lift with a mountain structure delivering a ski slope of 32 to 64 studs lenght and some vertical drop Interior: Valley station:Cashpoint, waiting room, Return pulley with technic elements and a PF structure or a 9V technic motor to make it run under the roof. Summit station, just a roofed return pulley and a simple one floor building near the exit. Includes 8-10 chairs. Minifigs: cashier, two lift attendants. 5 guests. 80-100€ Some of my old Town Ideas from the Alpine Subtheme winter would also fit. And: Winter Family House winter family house (first floor: living room with Christmas tree and big chimney with light brick, little kitchen and entrance; second room: bedroom, bathroom and small round balcony) with winter garden with fence, mail box, snowman and igloo including a blue car, some cups, a suitcase, some toys, skis, ski sticks, a shovel and some other tools minifigs: husband, wife, son and daughter Klaus-Dieter I've made something like this a while ago, but a different design, which fits to the mid-90s sets. This is it made it some 4-5 years ago in CAD. mFg Widdi Edited August 29, 2009 by Widdi Quote

Oky Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 The idea of a winter family house is good, but what would make it really great IMO would be if it had Xmas decoration that actually lights up! They could use those trans clear tubes, but with bubbles in them, as Christmas lights, lit up by PF lights. Quote

If the Christmas decorations on the houses could be lightened up this would of course be great! The only problem I see is how to do that since these pieces are that small. The only possibility might be a light conductive brick (like e. g. in the Metroliner for the front lights in the engine). Klaus-Dieter Quote

It's clearly based on the 6349 House from 1988 design-wise. the interior is classic 90s town with some extras. Interior of the ground floor. Bedrooms. Reused the sheme from my Lego Island house II: The one with the panoramic windows for the bedroom furniture. Quote

Why not a white light brick or PF (Power Functions) lights as I said? As long as you only want to light one brick or some very small bricks this surely would work, Oky Wan Kenobi. But how should it work with a chain of lights? For this a completely new mold or a cable with lots of small lights would be neccessary. Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) I'd really like it if TLG included in the winter set next year as "landscape" (10199: Xmas tree and bench with lantern; 10216: lake) a small slope with snowboarder(s). It's that difficult and expensive to get those snowboards - so TLG really should release some new ones. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Edited August 2, 2010 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
