optimus-convoy Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 These are some very interesting photos. I especially like what you did with that shot of Takadox. I hope to see more. Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Wow, these are really great . I love what you did for the water. Quote
---Vertea--- Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 You really do an outstanding job with capturing these sets as characters rather than just toys... though I may just be seeing to much in these. :P Quote
CELESTRIAL Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 May i say that these are absolutely amazing ! the Pictures of the Barraki are beautiful ! with all the water coming of them, its brilliant ! its a shame the bionicle line is coming to an end, cause these pictures remind me how amazing the series was ! I would love it if you could do a picture with Maxilos like you did with the Barraki, covered in water and such ! keep up the inspiring work ! its amazing Quote
Ratbat Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Excellent pictures! Seeing all of those 07 sets make me sad. It was my favorite year, with the Barraki and Nocturn being my favorite sets ever. Hopefully I'll be able to get the two larger play sets, so I can complete that year. Quote
Front Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 I see my Danish friend has front-paged this thread, thank you KimT. I will take extra effort to ensure the coming photos will be of even higher quality. In the meantime you may wish to see some of my other photos on flickr: Front's flickr Here I post my Lego images, but more importantly all my macro images of Dragonflies and Damselflies. Add to that a crazy Dane driving around on a frozen lake. Front Quote

Back in the day (2001-2002) lobsters were one of my favorite things to MOC with BIONICLE because of their plated, jointed look, and I'm sure that'd also make insects fun to MOC. Certainly the Mistika proved insect-like humanoids were feasible, so a genuine insect shouldn't be too great a leap. Quote

Certainly the Mistika proved insect-like humanoids were feasible, so a genuine insect shouldn't be too great a leap. I've had different thoughts and plans about creating a dragonfly in Lego. Until now I've thought about basing the insect on the rotate-bend joints seen in e.g. a lot of Creator sets, and though dominantly a System moc. I did start creating a dragonfly at some point, but stopped after making a wing that was 45 cm long. That would end up being a huge moc. My problem is that a fail to find a way to build wings that are realistic, and the attempt I made was done with black plates, creating the outline shape of the wing. It may be possible to create a flying insect based on Mistika transparent wings, but I don't really like those because of their non-biological and unrealistic shape. But they have a nice surface pattern. Quote
kill will Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 These are all great pictures, they really accent the wonderful spikes and shapes of Bionicle. Could you photograph some of the much older sets from 2001-04? I know they were less ornate, but they still deserve some tribute. Quote

ciano Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) This thread is a good thing. This thread is a very good thing. But can we get some high res copies these? I'd love to make that Takadox picture my desktop. He was such a bad set, but you made him look awesome! Edited February 1, 2010 by ciano Quote
