LuxorV Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 This MOC was, needless to say, inspire by the ongoing toaster mania started by Stauder and ImperialShadows. Before you start, no, it's not a miniscale sheep or anything. It's a toaster! Another slightly different angle Gallery (when public) Hope you like it. LuxorV Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 For a moment, I thought it was done by Shadows or Staudie. Then again, this is a very nice simple creation, similar to the blender. In fact, every household must have one. We need to commission this to Shadows Shawn, so he is able to sell this equipment to everyone. Nice one! The black cheese piece is ermmmm making me think its like a sheep. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Nice work . You have captured the full prowess of a toaster . Strange, it was just the other day when I was thinking of making a toaster. Quote
aawsum Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 If you would have stated "Before you start, no, it's not a miniscale toaster or anything. It's a sheep!", then I would have believed you. Would you mind if I reuse your idea to put some sheep at the farm in my layout ? And if you want, you can refer to them as toasters But serious, it is a nice creation, maybe it would help if you change the grill on top to also a black color. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Look, a sheep! Oh, hold on... Very nice work Mister LuxorV. I like the grill piece. You did well to get the necessary details into a minifig scale appliance. Quote
-Jim- Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 It does look like a sheep laying down. Have you tryed it with the black cheese 180 degrees to now? have it so it pointed down. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Not baaaaaaaaaaad at all LuxorV, i like it, perhaps a 3070b in black would be better though to remove doubt. The twin slice is nice with the grate. Well done. Quote
BlueBard Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Simple and nice! I think I'm going to try it with a silver modified plate Quote
DB24 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I like it! It does look a little like a sheep though, and perhaps a bit like a tiny imperial shuttle! What kitchen appliances are next? Quote
Shadows Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 That is the nicest toaster in sheep's clothing I've ever seen! The Cult of Toast approves. Fun Toaster Fact of the Day: The toaster did not really take off until after 1933, when sliced bread was invented, which makes it official: Historically speaking, the toaster is the best thing since sliced bread. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The Cult of Toast How do I get in said toaster cult? ( ) Nice toaster, I actually made something similar except no cheese slopes and it had a 1x1 round plate (where the cheese slope is) to represent a knob to change if you want it lightly toasted or burnt. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Very nice simple solution! I might use this in a future MOC! (I'm only slightly offended for being forgotten in the whole Toaster story... ) Quote
prateek Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 It looks good Instead of the black piece, I'd use a white one Quote
Rick Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Agreed, try to get rid of the sheep colors. Otherwise: nice and simple design. Quote
LuxorV Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks all for the positive comments As for the colours, it is not totally sheep-coloured: it has a white core, some bley plates on the sides, the obvious black cheese slope, and a metallic silver grill; the only problem is that my camera put in its mind to go crazy with the macro and colour settings a few weeks ago. Untill I'll find a replacement for it, I fear I'll have to take what it can give For further progress, I followed Jim's advice and turned the cheese slope upside-down: It effectively looks more like a toaster than a sheep now (I'm only slightly offended for being forgotten in the whole Toaster story... ) Sorry for that . The whole Toaster Story thingy came out when I was away for some work trip or another, and I missed the actual start of it. I just grasped that Shadows and Stauder where in it to their necks (how surprising! ). Would you mind making a recap? LuxorV Quote
Commander Flash Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Then use tan pieces as toast That is one nice toaster, my lego house needs one. Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 (edited) What piece did you use for the base? Edited August 19, 2009 by samthelegoman1 Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Stauder's new title should be Like a sheep. Cute, LuxorV. Now, what shall I do with this idea...? Quote
muffinman42 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 nice sheep. i mean toaster, though its about the right size for a sheep toaster . Quote
Francis Marion Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I must rummage about to find the bricks necessary to build this toaster, as it is an amazing little piece of work! I, for some reason, have always been fond of toasters, to the point of founding a mock-religion with some friends regarding the worship of toasters. Quote
LuxorV Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 What piece did you use for the base? It's a composite of one of these, which holds the cheese slope, and one of these, which holds the plates. LuxorV Quote
BlindRose Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 We anticipate it muust comb about to acquisition the artery all-important to body this toaster, as it is an amazing little section of work! I, for some reason, accept consistently been addicted of toasters, to the point of founding a mock-religion with some accompany apropos the adoration of toasters. _________________ Toaster Quote
