xwingyoda Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Guys, I got all the Exo Force sets today (except the gate assault) and since there were no reviews on the two smaller sets, here it is ;) I really love those 2 sets !! Simple yet really effective. The only major problem is the huge loads of megablocking stickers !! took longer to place the stickers than building the set *wacko* Oh boy, I do hate stickers !!! Ok, enough chit chat, here are the pics guys !!! enjoy (btw, I might do a pic review of Fire Vulture tomorrow morning) . MERRY CHRISTMAS from outer space, on a crappy mountain :D :P Here is a general pic of the two mechas I will start with the Mfs !!! I just love the robot: this one is one single colour: copper. Here is the rear Now the junkie exo dude with his violet hair and orange bandana !! (wrong !! its NOT Marylin Manson but Ryo :D G, what a stupid name :P ). Here is the non marked rear Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Thanks Yoda ! Great half so far done Review ! Quote
Jipay Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I don't think the review is actually over yet :-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 24, 2005 Author Posted December 24, 2005 Part two concerne the actual mechas !!! First the Uplink, at least lets start with the orange good guy !! The only thing I dislike, apart the bloody stickers of course, is that the arm carrying the twin guns is too heavy, therefore it cannot be placed exactly how you like :| I think that is due to the real heavy ice skaters helmets. Also too bad that the front of the rockets are red, but the shape of the rockets is brilliant:! fin + glass + cone :oD Now the Sentry !! I think that is the best mecha of the whole line !!! I think its just brilliant and flawless *wub* Shape, color and weapons are fantastic !! Thats all for now guys !! Comments, questions and what have you are always welcome ;) *yoda* Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I don't think the review is actually over yet :-D I knew that :D Also where did you find them all? Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Thanks Yoda, now I'm definately picking them up. Hard not to for that pirce of course ;) Too bad they don't have canopy pieces though. Ah well, I'll just get the other two "good guys" mechs for that (I don't have a clue what they're called though :P ) Quote
Kahgarak Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I like small mechanical things with thin arms and huge blasters. Rockets rule.Period. Quote

KimT Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Nice review and great pics - definately a must have :oD KimT Quote
SuvieD Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I must agree these sets are great. The robots are excellent and the little mechs are made well enough. I actually prefer them to the larger ones. These two sets along with the gate make a perfect little setup for play and more than enough pieces to make some nice mocs. I have three of each so you can expect some new mods for each of the mechs and maybe a few extra things. I recuited some rock raider and city figures into the human resistance and have a good sized "Exo Force." I don't really like the huge set coming out later this year so I will make one of my own. Lets Power Up! Quote
KimT Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I must agree these sets are great... ...Lets Power Up! Roger! Powering up! :oD KimT Quote

snefroe Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 hm... i bought the two small sets today... don't tell yoda, he'll laugh at me... and tt too 8-| i must say, yoda, what an unprofessional review! it was bad! awful! terrible! you're very close to being baned for this, mister! :D you missed two things: first, the stickers: on the booklet of the uplink, they are red, in reality they are transparent. apart from that, they look good. the small green sticker for the grey tile however, is terrible! it's waaaay too small. yep, i messed it up... >:( second, the lego group messed up the inventory of the set. instead of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=6632, they gave this: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2825 because of that it's become impossible to build the alternate model, the model i want >:( i'm also missing a 1 x 2 grey plate for that model; you need two plates beneath the cockpit, but there's no plate left for the parts to attach the cannon to the technic liftarms... Kikuichimonji Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Just wondering Snefroe, did you order them online or where they already available in toy stores? Quote
snefroe Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Just wondering Snefroe, did you order them online or where they already available in toy stores? shops! we have them in the shops. the small sets are 4.99 the robots are 14.99 Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Good, if they're in Belgium they must be over here too :-D I'll go and pick some up tomorrow. Quote
snefroe Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Good, if they're in Belgium they must be over here too :-D I'll go and pick some up tomorrow. they're not everywhere in belgium... i've only seen them in "'t Bazarke" and one of the "Bart Smit" houses... Quote
Kahgarak Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I'll go and check the nearest Bart Smit... Quote
snefroe Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 the other small set is very, very, very good! :oD it's simple, easy to build and the colors are, as yoda said, perfect! i didn't really like the minifig robot when i saw the pics of the theme, and i'm still not a fan, but the parts are very interesting! they are very detailed and they really look like part of a machine so you can use them for whatever you want. the arms are less detailed but still interesting parts. the hands have already been used by lego in the airplane. the torso isn't spectacular but surely you can use that on spaceships somewhere (i think as a greeblee if that's the correct name). the robot is rather primitive but these four dark tan (beige) parts make all the difference! they go very well with the black parts. there is one problem with the stickers tho. the stickers aren't symetrical. you don't have enough stickers to apply them on all sides. in fact, you can see on the pics of yoda that you can easily make a mistake with those: there are but only six yellow-black stickers on the sheet. every dark tan part has two slopes, so you would need 8 stickers, not six if you want to apply a sticker on all slopes. so you have to apply two stickers on two parts and one on the other two BEFORE APPLYING THE STICKERS TO THE MODEL, CHECK THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i paid 5 Quote
KimT Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I just bought the Uplink and Sentry. I like the orange colour scheme in the Uplink and the minifig - but 14 stickers for a set that small drives one mad within seconds >:( As for the Sentry :oD I'm so gonna buy a bunch of them and have an army *wub*. Both sets are fairly cheap and good for spare parts. They hold plenty of interesting pieces especially the Sentry that has the "light brown creamy colured" parts which are truly awesome and also a "black R2D2 body piece" KimT Quote
