Wow, the guy who signed your book is really good at drawing Han Solo's blaster, JCC1004!

I got my book signed by a stormtrooper by the name of TK3390 (I also took a picture with him):

SNIP

It didn't take him long to draw it either. I can try and get a picture of my brother's. He has Luke's Lightsaber. Why would you get your book signed by someone who didn't have anything to do with it? I was a little upset that the 501st didn't show. It happened I forgot my cell phone at home.

Because there wasn't anyone who helped with the making of the book that was there, so I figured that I should at least get a signature from one of the 501st people.

You could ask yourself the same question!

Send it to me! Remember to include a Sharpie (which I will keep as my fee) ;)

He accutaly had something to do with it. A 501st member has nothing. He just played a minor role in it's production. Are you Jeremy Beckett? You're mentioned in the book. Elizabeth Dowsett wishes she could get you a 2009 Toy Fair Vader.

I'm mentioned in the book because I was involved with the book - check out the title page. And it was Simon Beecroft who wrote the book and wishes he could get me a Toy Fair Vader.

Which pictures were your's? Since you're mentioned I should send my book away to get it signed. Do you know if there was a guy named Craig that was involved in the book anyway at all? I wouldn't think you'd have a problem getting a Toy Fair Vader. I misread the part about you wanting a TF Vader.

All the timeline shots up to 2004, all the minifig closeups to 2007, all the set shots up to 2003! I also wrote the Community and Merchandise pages at the back, and fact checked about a quarter of the pages.

There's probably a guy called Craig or Cliff working in DK but he didn't have any direct input into the writing/photographing/compilation of the book.

There were only 100 made of the TF Vader and they go for $500 at the moment!

Okay. Most of the facts were correct but there were some very inncorrect things. Did you take any of the pictures for the SW Minifig Poster as well? You sure you can't spare 500?

Such as? I am collating the errors for DK.

Do you mean the promo one that came out earlier this year? Nope, LEGO did that all themselves.

You sure you can't spare 500?

Not with all the sets coming out! Maybe you could start a collection?

I'm sure you'd love a collection! I'll make a list of mistakes. I'll add on to it as time passes.

Okay, sure!

I know where you live, too:

Jeremy Beckett

LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary Consultant

... snip ...

EDIT to whoever snipped the address: It was a fake one, you know...

Unfortunately, the shipping costs there and back will cost more than what I paid for the book ($12.50 USD), so I can not (words are separate because it is still possible to do so) include the Sharpie.

*ISBN number of the book

I will write a review soon highlighting all of the mistakes, complete with page numbers and pictures. :sweet:

When will you be sending the list of errors to DK? I want to get my review made before you send it.

a few of the mistakes I spotted:

They say that the Phase 2 Clone trooper has a face under it's helmet,

...that Kit Fisto was the first headmold with softer plastic,

some ROTJ sets are listed as TESB sets,

There is a part were they discribe the Stormtrooper and the sentence isn't even finished.

You just had to post this same reply in two different topics? :hmpf:

Thanks for bumpin' and spammin' :hmpf_bad:

Which other head came before Kit Fisto?

Which ROTJ sets are listed wrongfully?

Where is that stormtrooper description?

You're making accusations with no back-up here.

I got the book during my recent holiday and I must say: I like it. It is a pretty good book, despite some of the mistakes.

Mistakes I found:

-The V-Wing is listed in the timeline twice: in 2005 and 2006

-Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid is in the timeline in year 2005, I am sure it was released later though

-And for some reason, on page 42 (Han Solo and Chewacca), there is a picture of Han Solo in Hoth Gear (blue parka) but with yellow hands and head, was this minifig ever included in a set? I think not.

That`s all I noticed.

The V-Wing was released twice.

As a set in 2005 and then again in 2006 as part of the V-Wing Space Battle Selection LINK

The naboo Fighter was released in 1999 and again in 2007. I must check the book to see if you're right

Same goes for page 42.

I'll check and see if I agree :vader:

I later found this topic and thought that my reply was more suited here, I didn't mean to bump or spam.

Anyway, to answer the questions.

Which other head came before Kit Fisto? Yoda' head, or is that some other green plastic?

Which ROTJ sets are listed wrongfully? Page 5, 7166 Imperial Shuttle and 7127 AT ST are in the Episode V section, they should be in the next section

Where is that stormtrooper description? Were they discribe the Stormtrooper page 53, left to the Stormtrooper It goes like this: Stormtrooperes with imperial Inspection (set 7264) have and then it just ends.

I just wonder, has nobody noticed this or doesn't it bother anyone.

That Han came with the first sets of the MF, it was the time the skincolour was changing and I also think some of them found there way to collectors trough Lego itself.

As for the Naboo Starfighter, it was from 2007, it's also twice in the list.

Actually, you must have gotten a misprinted page. Mine says "Stormtroopers with Imperial Inspection (set 7264) have armor shin plates."

Hopefully I'll have time to at least make a list of the mistakes I've found. I have lots of sticky notes all over the book marking where they are.

So I have a misprinted page, strange that there already seems to be different versions of the book.

If this book wasn't so cheap and the exclusive Luke wasn't there I would have actually returned this book. Because everthng I read in it I take in doubt from now on (is that a correct expression in Englisch?) it's frustrating, the book is only good for the pictures to me.

Make the list, it would be very interesting and just fun trivia.

Thanks for clarifying that.

I didn't mean to sound as rude as it can be percieved and I apology for that.

The first Yoda head was a different type of plastic, at least it feels way different when you handle it.

Thanks for pointing out those mistakes.

I just wonder, has nobody noticed this or doesn't it bother anyone.

Apparently not

I am just happy that we finally got a visual dictionary and I can live with those small mistakes in it.

Posted

I also got that misprint in the Imperial section, the stormtrooper text just brakes off.

Some of the other things:

Yoda`s head is definitely a different plastic from Kit Fisto`s, it is about as soft as regular plastic and as bendy as flex tube.

V-Wing is really listed twice, with the same set number, name and box image, from everything you can see in the book, it is the same set.

With the `Naboo Fighter and Vulture Droid` I meant the new(er) set, 7660, not 7141 and 7111 (original 1999 Naboo fighter, respectively Droid fighter).

Error List:

Page # - Type of Error - Error

2 - Picture - Tusken's hips are tan, should be old dark gray

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 8007 Technic C-3PO Episode I? Box has Episode IV background

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 3340 Star Wars #1 Episode V? Darth Maul is Episode I

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 7106 TIE Fighter Episode IV? Death Star Background?

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 8008 Technic Stormtrooper Episode IV? Death Star interior background?

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 7166 Imperial Shuttle Episode V? Emperor arrived at Death Star II on Episode VI. No Death Star existed in Episode V

5 - Time line Placement - What makes 7127 Imperial AT-ST Episode V? Box background has Endor scene and set includes Chewbacca figure.

Thats all I can do for now. I'll edit on to it later.

So out of curiosity do you guys think this type of book will be available forever? Or do you think it's more of a limited thing like most LEGO sets?

I wouldn't speculate on buying the book. The figurine and good pictures are worth it, on amazon the book is really not expensive. If that is what you ment by this quesion.

@ JCC1004, good idea for ussing the colours (the orange part is somethimes formulated a little strange but doesn't matter). Maybe viceroy Kim T would feel up to it to edit the first post of this topic is we al formulate the errors like you do.
