The box has an Episode V scene. It's Luke flying away from Hoth. And if that's the case why isn't 4504 Falcon in Episode IV?

My mistake, I was looking at a small thumbnail of the set and it looked like a Death Star in the background.

The 4504 Millennium Falcon is listed in Ep5 because it is clearly an Ep5 set. Do you want me to tell the publishers you think they got that wrong too?

As much as I/we/they appreciate people pointing out the errors there are times when it comes down to a difference in opinion. ANd you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Also, haveing recently watched ESB, The Imperial Shuttle did appear in ESB, abielt briefly.

Only in later versions starting with the 1997 Special Edition travesty. From its debut in 1980 until that time, the only "shuttle" seen in Episode V was the TIE Shuttle which was really just the model of the TIE Bomber barely seen in the middle of the movie exiting a star destroyer.

A lot of the "errors" listed in this thread seem extremely nitpicky to me. I really don't see how having a dash in trap door is an error. I've seen it written both ways. I won't go into detail, but many other errors fall into the trivial category, IMO.

It's pretty hard to claim people are being "nitpicky" if you don't go into "details". That said, the amount of errors in a reference book with such limited content is staggering. These errors should have been spotted by the publisher during editing.

Really? Wookieepedia has some wrong info. I thought I saw one but I trusted Wookieepedia over myself

I was just trying to make a point. I thought you knew that 6212 had Han and Leia in their Hoth gear. 4504 is clearly a Episode V set. I don't know how the developers determined what sets belong where. I thought that it was by what scene the set depicted.

It was parked in one of the docking bays on Bepsin, in the top city layer. I think a few Stormies and Boba walked by it. It might have been edited in after it came out though.

Hmm, I guess it was only the Special Edition, however, isn't ESB's Special Edition cannon? After all, the original had the woman with the chimp eyes for Palpy.

"Canon" in Star Wars means pretty much anything given that Lucas himself has screwed with the films to the point that parts of the original trilogy are almost unwatchable now. In ESB, Luke defiantly stepped off the gantry and plunged silently. Then in the Special Edition he screamed. Then he was silent once more in a later version. Toss on all of the EU crap and there's more contradictions in SW than in a confession by a chronic liar.

I apologize for bumping an older thread, but I would like to comment. I've only made a few posts here in the SW forum; but recently, I picked up this book. I realize that it's been out for some time, but what a fantastic pictorial of Star Wars sets. While the images are stunning; as others have commented, the history/timeline on the first few pages is a wonderful resource for SW sets. As I carefully thumb through the beautiful imagery, this book makes me want to break out some of my older SW sets and start building.

I've been out of SW for a long time, only picking up a small set or two on occasion, but I'm tempted to order the Death Star now. I'm reminded why so many of you love the SW theme. Great book and one day, I may just create that Hoth diorama I've always had in the back of my mind. This book provides much inspiration. I'd love to see the same idea incorporated in other themes.

You are very correct in the detail and inspiration packed into this visual feast. I just thought I should mention that one of the great resources for building locations is this great book.

Be sure to snap one of these up for MOCing too Brickster, you wont be disappointed.

I wanted this from the first time I heard about it but funds were tight. I'm happy I waited, I got this about a month ago on Amazon for $12, and that's including the fig. Its a great book and I hope they release a final version once the sw line is finally done.

Thanks for the tip ISC. I was actually thumbing through the SW Location book in the book shop a few days ago. I didn't purchase, but it is another excellent resource. I have an Indiana Jones book that has similar maps and such. It provided some inspiration for my Desert Adventure I built last year.

Good price Big Cam. I saw it on Amazon (for I think $15). I didn't order and ended up buying for full price at my local TRU. ($21/$22 USD or something around that amount). I didn't want to run the risk of getting one beat up in the mail or scratched before shipping. My copy is in pretty good shape. I like the book so well, I think it's well worth the price.

I was a little concerned about shipping it at well, but I've had pretty good luck with amazon, plus at $12 I figured if it was scuffed up, I could just order another and try again.

Glad you got one in good condition.

I have yet to remove my Luke figure. I kind of don't want to.

Maybe you wont have to

I had the exsact opposite reaction when i got the boo a few weeks ago- I went at it like a kid at Christmas. It's a wonderfull fig, usefull in so many ways, but after I got it, I never nearly vowed to never take it apart. Now it's in about 5 or 6 pieces.

This really a good book, although incorrect at times. I love how it mixes LEGO facts, EU, and the Movies all in one in the discriptions. One question, though. On page 81 it mentions 6968, a set that apparently was only avaiable as instructions. Does any one have pics of the completed set?

I bought all the pieces for that set off of BL. I can shoot a few pics and post them, if you'd like. It might take me a few days, though.

I ordered 10 new Visual Dictionaries eralier this year and now they've arrived.

They all have this new version of Luke:

as opposed to this older version:

It seem that dot-eyes are the way of the future for TLG.

Not sure wether to like them or not, but I kinda think this new Luke looks kinda cool.

He looks less mean now.

At least they scrapped the Young Obi-Wan/Angry Luke face. The Jedi News pic was probably just the prelim that the designers used straight out of the minifig parts drawers prior to the creation of the new face.
