xwingyoda Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Guys, final Exo set to be reviewed ;) I think that the Fire Vulture is the worst Exo set of the whole line *sick* Still enjoy this review :D :P Lets start with the neat robot !!! I just love the twin color parts: its light grey and translucid light blue :oD Now lets look at the overall design of the mech itself: its just bad !!! The cockpit is just plain simple, but okie looking and now the crappy weapons !!! At least the good junkie dudes won't have any problems with this mecha *wacko* It has no gun whatsoever but a small flame thrower >:( + a crappy claw instead of a nice sword >:( and the last thingy goes to the huge vent (same as the engines of the Sonic Phantom) !!! What the megablocks is that vent for ??? Flying ??? Oh well... Last pic is the Sentry next to the Fire Vulture to give a sense of dimensions ;) Thats all folks ;) *yoda* Quote
Sir Dillon Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Nice review Yoda. I don't think the set looks that bad, but it does look pretty top heavy, the legs are way too small... *wacko* And that vent thing on it's back looks really dumb. Quote
Zarkan Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Not to be mean, but I did not like this review. For starters, its very unprofessinal, at least compared to most of the other reviews. I mean, no final rating, you only talked about the bad things, and you did not give any info why you hated certail things! Okay, to make my point, look at some of the things you said! Just how is a flame thrower bad? Even if it's small? Flames are very powerful things... And what about that claw? Looks fine to me, seems as you just hate small weapons....and what's wrong with small weapons? I mean, it's a medium mech, not a huge mech like Grand Titan and Thunder Hammer! What the megablocks is that vent for ??? Flying ??? Oh well... Um, yes, it's for flying. Couldn't see that? And, just what's wrong with a giant turbine (not vent, mind you). Its andvanced tech, in a fictonal world, for crying out loud! It seems that many AFOL's and KFOL's are taking this line to seriously. If they were trying to make this based on how things would work in real life, there would be NO EXO-FORCE! *wacko* Ugh. Anyway, I like this mech, because of it's good pieces, cool body design, and great playability, all of which can be seen without actually owning the set, and NONE of which you mentioned. Oh, but, you're still actually one of my favorite members, since you actually like some Exo-Force sets, so I don't have much against you. Quote
The Middleman Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I have to agree with Grevious. I got this the other day and also enjoyed it. Quote

Reviews are here just to give an opinion. the final rating is completely useless because it only reflects one opinion. The fact he didn't give any rating to the model only showed he knows he's giving ones opinion. Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 24, 2005 Author Posted December 24, 2005 Grevious, I really don't think we view reviews the same way !!! First, I never said I didn't like that set, its ok, I said its "the worst Exo set of the whole line" . That statement is what I think, thats all !!! Secondly, unprofessional review for you, maybe, but to tell you the truth, I really don't care to read what you think !!! As Europeans, we do reviews in the way we want, not following the perfect Lego nerd review guide that you see on other websites. Finally, I think that you did not get that my remarks were supposed to be funny :| How did you put it ??? "I think you've completely missed the point of reviews here..." OK, I think you missed the point of mine thats for sure !!! So next time, please read between the lines instead of taking things so seriously !!! That being said, I wish you a happy review and Merry Christmas !! *yoda* Quote
DoubleT Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 its very unprofessinal Ehhh a professional review, could only be made by someone who gets paid for for doing it.... And as far that i know, none of us here get paid for that........ Allthough i would like that job he he But please dont discusse how the review should have bin made, but discusse the set okay? Im not sure that i like the set... It is strange that a evil Mech have no guns... Quote
Zarkan Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Okay, so maybe I was being really harsh. But can't I give my view on things? Never mind, It's over and done with, so I won't talk about it anymore. Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 To pursue on my totally "unprofessional" review ( :D ) here is the alternate model: the Hover Hawk :oD Quote
xwingyoda Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 And to continue being totally "unprofessional", I double post (oh yeay !! I'm bad :D ) to give you the pic of the combination of Thunder Fury and Fire Vulture ;) Quote
Zane Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 That Hover Hawk rocks! Total F-Zero stylee. I was going to get this set anyways, and now there's even more reason. Thanks very much Yoda - pictures of alternate models are better than number ratings! Toa Tilius Quote
Zarkan Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Okay, Yoda, I get your picture. ;) Nothing against you, like I said, we just have different views. Okay, now that that's done, let me say that I do not like that combiner as much as the red/white one. Okay, but not great. Quote
Khorne Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I think I like the flamethrower, it's nicely built. The mech looks quite cool, too, except for the flying thing on the back *wacko* . Quote
KMOI Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I actually like the flamethrower and the claws. The flamethrower is a piece of art alone and those claws really bring a sense of "Vulture" to it. Ditto with the very skimpy armour. Unlike the Stealth Hunter, which was meant to look like a dragon, this needs a slimmer look, like that of a vulture. Fat body, slim limbs. Flying thing doesn't bother me in the slightest. I've seen them alot in Gundam Seed, mainly on Providence Gundam and Legend Gundam, though I don't have the slightest clue what's it used for. Except the fact that it's like a dock for the spike things that fire out and unload some heavy laserage upon some poor robot. Couldn't find a GOOD picture of the Providence, but here's one of Legend. :D Quote
Kahgarak Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I believe that if you push the cone stick atop, the light brick pops out. This is what Hikaru did in the movie in my sig.The light brick is the energy stone,by the way. Quote
The Hordesman Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Of the big mechs, I think Stealth Hunter looks the worst without modification, Fire Vulture is actually pretty cool. The big fan is great for futuristic hover vehicles and helicopters, too. Though I have to admit, Fire Vulture is the only one I didnt keep in its original or nearly original state, needed the parts to my story... Quote
KimT Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I just bought this - the local toy store didn't have the white mech that I intended to buy, so I left with the Fire Vulture. I like it. I think the flamethrower is well done and the claw can always be modified to a weapon insted  . Also the colour scheme is great - the dark blue is a fantastic colour - now all I need is the rest of the Exo-Force sets and several sentinels... EDIT: Erhmm... I meant sentry not sentinel :$ KimT Quote
keetongu Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I have it and I think it's great. The only downside is the light brick tends to slip so you have to push it back up.Another down side is that the flame-thrower takes away some poseability along with the claw. Not as much the claw as much as the flame-thrower though. Quote
KimT Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Yeah I agree - the flamethrower can't move that much without the light wire thingy obstructing the mecha and also the claw has it's flaws concerning poseability KimT Quote
