This is an entry for a challenge at Classic-Castle where some of the people used to building big castles were challenge to build a castle on a 32x32 baseplate (note: a castle, not a medieval house or something like that).

32thumb.jpg

At first I thought, "oh 32x32 is nothing, I'll just sit down for an evening and see what I come up with", but it turned out to be very hard for me to fit everything I wanted to add onto a 32x32 baseplate, but I'm happy with the result :)

Brickshelf folder with all the photos.

A creative use of space and angles has hidden the small nature of the 32 square baseplate and allowed focus to fall primarily on to the masterpiece you have created Aliencat! I like the angled nature of the towers and the round wall is a nice touch. I also approve of the use of sand green and tan highlights on the walls, like most of your castles I have seen. It helps highlight the moss and quality of stone available as well as wear and tear to the facade over the years, bravo!

It's tiny!

I saw it this morning on Brickshelf and from the thumbnail image it was immediately recognizable as one of your creations. I see you didn't forget about your signature place-at-least-one-thing-in-at-an-angle. Great work again!

Again a beautiful masterpiece Alien!

Although there are many things to praise on this I want to emphasize two items I really like about this MOC:

- Like before, you often build structures from the late medieval period, so when gunpowder is introduced in the form of bombards but still the "knighthood" is applicable. I like that period and it produced most mature medieval castles. You picture that very well in this (and many of your) MOCs

- The use of light green to make the walls more realistic. This colour I haven't seen before (at least didn't notice it), but it is a very nice idea and very fitting to make your walls more detailed.

Thank you again for a nice MOCs for us to drewl on ;-)

This is an amazing moc. Despite being "small", because of the creative use of space it actually looks much bigger than 32x32.

You build truly stunning castles

Spectacular! I really am amazed at how you built such a great castle on such a small baseplate. I really like how you incorperated the tan and green bricks. The red windows are easy to have and they don't look out of place on the castle. I also like the diagonal building that connects to the tower, it looks fantastic. Good luck with the challenge.

Amazing castle.

About the tan/green bricks. I am assuming you added them to stop it from being too mono colored. How did you determine what color would go well with the castle?
