menq Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Wow! Thats incredible! Thats so cool how you can take his jetpack off and his arms move. Great work and welcome to EB! How long did this take to build? It took me a few weeks designing it. Taking pieces out, putting pieces in... and out, and in... The arms and the jetpack took the most time. Building it was quite 'easy' - it took me between 10 and 12 hours to build (one weekend). LEGO Digital Designer can generate an instruction that is realy easy to follow! This is amazing and you didn't just create a statute. You built it with moveable parts too! Do you have a Boba Fett minifigure? If so it will be a nice contrast to put it next to this MOC. Good idea! Yes, I have the fig (I have them all) I will take some new pictures this weekend What program did you use to make this with, how do you get the arms to move, moving arms is the most incredible part of this. I used LEGO Digital Designer. The arms are connected to the body using an Axel so to 'move' them, you have to take them out and push them back in again on another angle. I wanted to use another contstruction but the pieces I needed where not available in LEGO Digital Designer. I will change this in time. The hands are connected with a Pin so they can turn freely. I used the official LEGO maxifig as a reference. Very sweet humongous Boba, how much does it weight?"Aang. That rhymes with Meng! And you got some pretty big ears don't you" It weighs 2,9 kg / 6 lb 6 oz. Thats great! You can tell that a lot of time and effort was put into this lego boba fett. I really like how you were able to make the helmet removable and the arms move. I haven't seen a moc this good in a while. Thank you for sharing this with the community and welcome to eurobricks. Thanx ALL... for the feedback. It is realy fun to read!! Edited August 24, 2009 by menq Quote

prateek Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 That's great! If I had that many bricks in the same colour, I would make a Maxifig too. Quote

382nd Legionnaire Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 nice maxifig there, the two things I'm surprised is that you have enough of the right colored pieces and his helmet can be removed. Quote
Lego Builder Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 That is really impressive. Great planning and great build. One of the best mocs i have ever seen!! Quote
menq Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) nice maxifig there, the two things I'm surprised is that you have enough of the right colored pieces and his helmet can be removed. Getting enough and the right colored pieces is no so hard (only expensive ). If you design your MOC with LEGO's Digital Designer (like I did) you can send in your design and order the pieces in the LEGO online store! Wait a few days.... and... menq Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 You bought this through the LDD/Factory? Wow, that must have been expensive. Yes it was... it took me a while before I dared to push the "order" button... but now that I have it standing here on our table it's worth every penny!! It still makes me smile By the way, what does 'indexed' mean that is displayed above the topic; its there since yesterday I think? Quote

It still makes me smile By the way, what does 'indexed' mean that is displayed above the topic; its there since yesterday I think? It means I've added your MOC to the Star Wars MOC Index. (It's pinned at the top of the forum page) It's just for me to keep track of indexed and non-indexed topics. Quote
DarthSion Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Indexed means its been indexed in a section, im guess MOC thread. In fact i am right. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18587 Now this is a boba figure i wouldn't mind getting, at least its original instead of rehashing. Quote

The Who Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) I just love this fig, and it really suprises me that you actually bought it from LDD. The only thing I would have done differently would be build the legs hollow, or at least have holes in the back/bottom of the legs/feet. EDIT: If you wouldn't mind, could you tell us how much it cost? I'd like to know if downloading LDD is worth it or not. Edited August 29, 2009 by booger540 Quote
menq Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) ... Do you have a Boba Fett minifigure? If so it will be a nice contrast to put it next to this MOC. Done ! It dwarfs the minifig... Edited August 29, 2009 by menq Quote
menq Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) The only thing I would have done differently would be build the legs hollow, or at least have holes in the back/bottom of the legs/feet. The legs are hollow; so is the torso, arms and head. The reason I did't put the holes in the back of the legs is because the upper whole goes deep into the hip. This would make the minifig unstable (at least that is what I think); the legs have to support the weight of the jetpack. And... its easier this way Edited September 2, 2009 by menq Quote
legoman777 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Hey there, Just want to show of my brand new MOC. It's a 3.000+ pieces 19 inches tall copy of the Cloud City Boba Fett minifig. It's helmet and jetpack come off, just like the minifig... Please let me know what you think! is there any way you could send me the LDD file. i think that is the BEST minifig scale well minifig i have ever seen. Quote
