Melbourne pirate fan '87 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I have been looking all over for the new Pirates sets around my local area (Melbourne, Australia) including Toys R Us and I can't find them anywhere, except for the pirates construction set (not part of the official pirates line). I've been looking forward to buying the Soldier's Fort since the beginning of this year. Anyone in Australia seen the new sets out in stores? Quote
Zorro Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I think Captain Zuloo has some new Pirates sets, don't you, Zuloo? Quote
Siegfried Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I've got the soldier impulse (Toyworld) but that's it! Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I think Captain Zuloo has some new Pirates sets, don't you, Zuloo? Indeed, but only the two impulse sets. But I plan to buy the Soldiers' Fort and Brickbeard's Bounty along with my Emerald Night from S&H on April 11. I've got the soldier impulse (Toyworld) but that's it! That's where I aquired my impulses. I was told by LEGO that they would be released in Myer early July as exclusives before they arrived in other stores. So if you really want it now, you should look at S@H. Quote
Guss Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) they're not available in switzerland too :/ only the impulse are in shops, and there isn't the pirate category on the s@h ... but happily I live near France! Edited March 27, 2009 by Guss Quote
Ratshot Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 But I plan to buy the Soldiers' Fort and Brickbeard's Bounty along with my Emerald Night from S&H on April 11. The new pirate line has been available in Canada sense Dec.20 by the way what is Emerald Night Zuloo? Quote
Svelte Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I've seen the 2 impulses in TRU but nothing else so far. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 by the way what is Emerald Night Zuloo? The Emerald Night is the new PF train. It can be discussed here. Quote
Melbourne pirate fan '87 Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 I was told by LEGO that they would be released in Myer early July as exclusives before they arrived in other stores. That's strange. Why so late after being released in North America in December last year? Quote
Dragonator Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I should add that all the pirate sets are currently available in New Zealand retailers, apart from the impulse sets which I haven't seen anywhere. It is very interesting that they haven't sailed into Australia yet. Quote
Darth_Legois Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I've got the soldier impulse (Toyworld) but that's it! Ditto, My toyworld has sold out of them already! Glad I got 3 of mine already. I've seen the 2 impulses in TRU but nothing else so far. Yea me too I saw a guy walk out with 10 of them last time [6 Of them Soldiers] His wife/gf didn't look impressed. I should add that all the pirate sets are currently available in New Zealand retailers, apart from the impulse sets which I haven't seen anywhere. It is very interesting that they haven't sailed into Australia yet. Really? That's wierd....I thought Australia normally gets things first then Nz? Quote
Siegfried Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Really? That's wierd....I thought Australia normally gets things first then Nz? Not always. For example NZ got the Sith Infiltrator first. Quote
jonwil Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I havent seen them either. In any case I can always order the ones I want (canon battle mostly) from Shop @ Home at the same time as my Emerald Night. Quote
Logbo Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Damn i hate australians you guys have the impulse sets All i have is everything else. :( Quote

Stop teasing Damn i hate australians you guys have the impulse sets All i have is everything else. :( only have everythng else Quote
Logbo Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Stop teasing only have everythng else my advice, dont buy to many impulse sets as the Cannon battle imo is better value, as you get weapons for both mini figs whereas the pirate impulse has no weapons. And the cost of the pirate + solider impulse is 50c (NZD at least) more than cannon battle. getting my 9th and 10th canon battle this pay for my army builder. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 All things come to those who wait I will bide my time for Pirates to arrive, though I do already have the Brickbeard Bounty, Shipwreck Hideout and two Cannon battles, so waiting isn't too bad Quote
Melbourne pirate fan '87 Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 That's annoying that most sets won't be out in Australia until mid-year. The problem for me is I still live at home and my family thinks I gave up lego years ago (I'm 22). I was hoping to get the new Soldier's Fort in mid-April when the rest of my family was away on holiday and I had the house to myself for a few days. Then I could break out the lego and build stuff like it was 1999. The problem with ordering from S@H is if I got a delivery at home my family would be like "Why on Earth are you ordering lego?" Even if I could time the delivery for when they were away I'd still have to use my parent's credit card to order it and they'd find out when they got the bill. I hate being 'in the closet' about liking lego. I want my own place! Quote

Though I have moved out of home. they came over for dinner and saw the spare room coverd in lego, "oh no not again" is a direct quote. At the moment im planning for my wedding to my Girl of the last 3 years. She is great she just asks me what lego sets i want for xmas and birthdays. Quote

I think if I found a girlfriend and they knew I liked lego they'd probably dump me. Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 You are so lucky! Where did you find a girl like that? I think if I found a girlfriend and they knew I liked lego they'd probably dump me. Nah mate. If you have a girlfriend that dumps you because of who you are, you shoudn't be dating them anyway. And maybe you could get your own credit card? Do you have an income? Quote
Melbourne pirate fan '87 Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Do you have an income? Yep, but not much unfortunately. Anyway, perhaps I should start a topic on 'undercover' lego fans like myself, people who keep their passion to themselves to avoid ridicule. I'd love to hear people's stories. Quote
Guss Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I should start a topic on 'undercover' lego fans like myself, people who keep their passion to themselves to avoid ridicule. what is ridiculous about being fan of lego ? Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 what is ridiculous about being fan of lego ? Good question Guss. When someone calls me a fag or says I am stupid for playing with LEGO, I tell 'em to stuff off. The greatest construction toy in the world is NOTHING to be ashamed of. Quote
Admiral Rodgers Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Iv'e been waiting for 10 years for the pirate sets to return! And when the rest of the world is enjoying the pirate-y goodness, we're still waiting I do have quite a few Redcoat impulses so i'm happy for now, but I can't finish the HMS Sirius until I get BBB.
