Zarkan Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Okay, so one day, I decide to browse the offical Lego message boards, and, well, my eyes nearly pop out of my head! Jipay Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 thats why we are needed : for some serious talk :D Quote
Deinonychus Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Every once in a while I'll use the LEGO search engine to look for something and I get to those forums...what a complete waste of bandwidth those are |-D Quote
Zarkan Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 thats why we are needed : for some serious talk Well, at least serious compared to those boards.... :D Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 They're VERY out of control. People don't even seem to talk about lego! :oo Quote
crispen Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 this WAS about legos, but not anymore: hey josh how many credits do you get in class b just tell me about an average and don't lie becaus i dont know if i should go up there k????it is seriouse my average now is about 325 - 350 and if i get lucky and use all my chassis parts i one time got up to 991 because i have 55in my chassis and 2 glue sqirts =85 a peace and 2 oil dumps =only 40X-DR55 Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I tried making posts on there 3 times. None of them were moderated up onto the boards. I even toned myself down to avoid any cynical slant that might (usually) be present. Know why? I think it was because they were SERIOUS posts about the sets. The moderators clearly don't want serious discussion there. Just "happy thoughts", substantive or otherwise. Incoherently off-topic spam is A-OK, as long as you sound happy, happy, happy! Who's the target audience for their "forums"? Kids, I think. ...Or people really high on weed. Quote
Kahgarak Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Those message boards are confusing too. They should make their forum like Invisionfree.Makes it easier to find SPAMmers, plus its less confusing. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I think those board are crowded by 10-year olds who just aren't capabable of serious discussion yet. Quote
Zane Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 There are these stupid little kids who come on talking as if they're a BIONICLE GOD!!!11!!!, telling everyone about stuff BZP found out years ago. They say speculation is fact. It makes me so angry...... Toa Tilius Quote
Yuppley Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Wow, its just like PvE Alliance on World of Warcraft *wacko* Quote
snefroe Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 unfortunately, several eb-members i've been talking to in the last few weeks indicate the phenomenon has taken over eurobricks as well. some one described the current situation on eb as "20 vcvc's on the forum", i wouldn't go that far, but i can clearly see an inflation of topics, polls and posts. Some even seem to think the forum is a chat room, it's not, last time i checked... i somethimes even see admins closing threads because they just don't make any sense at all, old threads are being revived even tho they clearly belong to the past. Some threads seem to continue long after the fun of it has gone, unfortunately, people don't seem to realise that, so they just keep on adding meaningless posts... I once tried to tell vcvc to think before posting anything and to ask himself if it's really relevant whatever he is going to say. i think several current members should be confronted with that question also. and then there's the question of personal stuff, like avatars and sigs. i have no problem with either one of them, but that doesn't mean you should just take all the space you want and fill half my forum window with only your post... Quote
DoubleT Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I agree with much of it.... But EuroBricks are an open forum, and every can be here as long as they behave.. If they dont.. Well its up to Admins to correct that.. But i have also noticed in theese forums, that members themself take care of this in a nice way... There should also be fun and games... And maybe some peopleare too serius, Lego is a toy you know... But behave guys, and think just alittle before you post ;) Quote
Zane Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Ok That was a joke. Anyways, yeah, so, the messge boards. So many people just repeat stuff in the topics. Like people saying about Bionicle 2006 and the same people saying 'WOW WHERE DID U GET DAT INFO?? Lol' and stuff. TT Quote
ImperialJohn Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Just remember that it is use by Youngsters from all over the world ! Most of them don't know any English :| That is why we have EUROBRICKS ;) Quote

Now that was funny :-D Seriously though, it wasn't meant as an offense. I just don't think 10-year olds are capable of serious discussion. Maybe at times, but certainly not all the time. Like my mother always said when I was young: "You'll understand when you grow older" :P Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted January 1, 2006 Governor Posted January 1, 2006 The LEGO.com messageboards are festering pile of cow dung! They are over populated with stupid little children with lower IQ's than 2 week old baboons! The moderators must approve each post before it appears to prevent anything harmful reaching the delicate eyes of these infantile beings. The moderators will not allow for external links of ANY kind! So don't think you can link an interesting BrickShelf gallery to a thread. Nor are you allow to state factual information about LEGO which may seem somewhat nefarious, despite being true. Sometimes I'd just continually posting the same message over and over till the moderator grew tired of rejecting it! I endured those horrid messageboards for about 18 months before having enough and finding Eurobricks. I did do a search 12 months earlier yet failed to find Eurobricks. Its just a pitty I wasted so much time at LEGO.com. Quote
