Ricecracker Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 (edited) Hi again everyone. Here is my latest MOC, a Dodge Ram 3500 Rally Truck. It is used for off road desert rallies. Enjoy! It even has working suspension: My main inspiration for this build was using the Taun-taun harness as a bull-bar, which I think turned out well. Check out the rest of the pictures on my flickr. aawsum Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Really cool. Using the big wheels, the working suspension I would say the only thing missing is the engine (real working one) LOL I do like the bullbar you created. All the small detailes make me it. Allthough, in my memory a Dodge pick up truck is about 4 studs longer ..... which would be quite unusefull in a rally Quote

The normal version is rather low to the ground, which makes it look longer I love that truck! Good work. Thanks! Quote
Rick Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Great! I really like the color scheme, the striping, and of course the bull bar. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Nice work, the colours look great. As other have said the bull bar is neat. The drivers helmet is pretty nice too, using the Hoth goggles. Did you cut the bonnet sticker in half then spread it out creating the central stripe? or was the sticker already like that? Quote
Ricecracker Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) Thanks to you both. Did you cut the bonnet sticker in half then spread it out creating the central stripe? or was the sticker already like that? The sticker came like that. I thought it was pretty neat, actually. It's from set 8630 Mission 3: Gold Hunt. By the way, I've made some minor adjustments, and hope to have some new pictures up within the next few days. Edited August 26, 2009 by Ricecracker Quote
Big Cam Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I like it alot, you did a very good job. The taun taun piece works perfectly, and I dig the suspension. Quote
Milan Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Wooow. It looks like monster truck for city ride! I am big fan of these vehicles, Excelent model, Ricecracker! Quote
Ricecracker Posted August 27, 2009 Author Posted August 27, 2009 That looks great! I love the suspension. Thanks, it took an hour or so to work out, so I'm glad it's noticed. Brickvergnugen Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I've never seen a 3500 shortbed before....I'm a Ford man anyway.... Kidding aside, nice use of the harness! Funny how one piece like that can be the start of an entire project. Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I like the color scheme (from the gold heist set?) Quote
Ricecracker Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 I've never seen a 3500 shortbed before....I'm a Ford man anyway.... Quiet, you! Funny how one piece like that can be the start of an entire project. I think it's great. It's a bit like the seed part contests held every-so-often on Classic-Castle and Forbidden Cove. I like the color scheme (from the gold heist set?) I didn't think about that, but I guess so. I've got a bunch of orange pieces, and I love building in black so I wanted to use both. It's funny how the set may have had an underlying influence on this. Quote
Col. Brik Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Well Done! Proper size, color, proportions. The minifig with it looks like he is apart of the truck. It does have a nice off road look and stance. Quote

And thanks for the blog, TheBrickster! Edited August 28, 2009 by Ricecracker Quote
