Today the mailman...erhm...woman rung the doorbell and handed me a parcel from the US.

I wasn't aware or couldn't remember that I've placed an order for something, so happy as a little kid on Christmas, I tore the parcel and pulled out the contents. :oh3:

To my surprise it was the Adam Reed Tucker Brickworld Commemorative Event Kit.

Set name: 2009 Brickworld Event Kit / Commemorative Event Kit

Set designer: Adam Reed Tucker

Links: Brickworld, Brickstructures, Brickshelf

Price: Unknown

Parts: 107

Release: Brickworld 2009

A very nice way to pack a small set such as this.

I wish TLG would release sets this way. Just the smaller ones though.

Instructions:

The instruction is printed as a little folder with some "easy-to-follow" steps that lets you know which exact parts to use.

Real Life Version:

This is the building as it looks in 'real life'.

Brickbuilt Version:

All the way around the Westin Hotel. The 4x2 printed brick on top of the building is awesome.

It seems (according to the instructions) that it originally was intended to be a plain 4x2 white brick.

Not that it's that bad - it can always be replaced.

The Brickworld 2009 Minifig

This female minifig was included as well. Not sure that it belongs in this set, but it sure is pretty - and special.

Final verdict:

I guess it all comes down to wether or not you like micro-scale buildings.

I like'em, but I never took the time (read money) to purchase the other sets that Adam Reed Tucker designed for LEGO.

Though after getting this, I might reconsider getting them.

I think it's an awesome idea having someone like ART design the Event Kit for Brickworld.

It's nearly as good as the designers we have making our Event Kit here on EB.

(Kits that I'll be reviewing over the next few weeks).

What's your thoughts on this?

Great review KimT!

I never even knew that there was this special micro-scale event kit for Brickworld. Thanks for sharing it with us! :classic:

Nor did I, until it landed on my doorstep today.

And you're welcome.

Awesome. A nice micro scale building, and a minifig . Are those stickers on the top (Westin and Brickworld writing)? I couldn't really tell from the pics.

It's..erhm...printed.

Stacy and I each purchased one of these at Brickworld 2009 and this is a great event kit! Adam did a phenomenal job on the design and it's a fun little display item for home or office. Overall, a good exclusive set.

Nice review KimT, it captures this set very well. It is a neat little set, and the printed brick is a cool addition! I'd love to get some of the other micro scale sets now too, as this looks really nice sitting on the desk. :classic:
