I just got a PS3 today. The only thing that bothers me is ModNation Racers takes too friggin long to load! The main screen won't even load. All I see for 5 minutes straight is the spinning circle and the ModNation logo...

Have you patched the game? It apparently improves load times.

In other news: Vanquish is awesome.

I'm pretty sure I have. It's the first thing you do once you put in the disc for the first time, right?

That's installing the game. Enable the internet on your ps3 and start the game, If it's not patched it should say something like 'System has found update 1.(whatever) for this game'

My copy doesn't take that long. They are long loading times but five minutes must mean there is something wrong with it. I would say it's the disc or you haven't patched it like SimonJedi said. One of the patches did improve load times but they were never 5 mins long. Maybe a minute tops.

Are you sure you had your net connected to the ps3 and had the game in, it should update but will take a while depending on your net connection, last I knew there were 7 patches all improved load times.

Is your ps3 PSN account the same region as the game, if your PSN account is EU and you imported the game from the USA it can not update, only games are region free patches and DLC are locked.

Have you tried deleting, go to game, to game data utility, then deleting it from there, it deletes the install so you would need to reinstall again.

Maybe also delete from save data utility.

While you are in there see what version it is

Of course I am assuming you are on OFW and not using CFW/rebug/micro controller.

The weird thing is that it works perfectly fine offline, but once you enable Internet, it stops working. Whenever I try downloading the patch, there is an error, so I think that's why. I might call and ask what's going on. :classic:

Again, is your PSN account the same region as the game.

Yup. I guess I'll just continue offline until I find the time to reinstall the game or whatever.

Can't go into detail in case Sig is still around, but I had this problem, it happened when I tried to just install update 1.04 without installing all the others first.

See I thought it was a full upgrade like PS3 firmware where you can go from any firmware to the most recent, but its not, you need to install 1.01 1.02 1.03 then 1.04.

My point is perhaps while the game was getting patched it did not do so properly, and thus corrupted the data.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it for the third time today and it worked. It seems third time's the charm! :sweet:

Make sure to add your PSN to the username list! :classic:

So what do you guys think about SOCOM 4? It has been given mediocre reviews, praising its multiplayer modes and graphics, but many reviews have criticized it's lack of a rich story mode and variety of the story mode maps. I have been a SOCOM fan ever since SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 came out for PSP a little over a year ago. That too got mixed reviews, but it was by far my favorite game on my PSP.

I've played the multiplayer beta, and I don't really like it all too much. The maps aren't too good, and the spawn points are terrible. I like Black Ops better for sure.

There has been a security breach of Sony's security for the PlayStation Network, resulting in a compromise of information. This may include:

Your name

Your address

Country

E-mail address

Birthday

PSN password and login name

Your credit card information (potentially)

You may want to change the passwords of any accounts with the same log-in name, as well as look into taking care of your card. The leak of credit card information has at this time not been confirmed but Sony admits there is a possibility.

Yeah the whole PSN network thing is pretty bad. But Sony kinda deserve it from F'ing with the hackers. What amazes me is that it looks like Sony houses its credit card information with username, password and email information. Shouldn't it be even more secure and on a different server or something? So from now Im probabaly going to buy anything from the PS store without buying one of those gift card things.

Ah it was pretty much know a week ago when it Sony said it was hacked this is what it was.

I think you will find its hacker, its not coming from people who have hacked their ps3 or from anonymous.

You should probably read this, especially if your the over paranoid type.

Latest rumour is the hacker(s) have 2million psn account info with ALL personal info from address credit card numbers cvv2 exp date are up for sale in underground credit selling sites.

Glad I stuck to 3.41 so I couldn't enter my new credit card info.

BTW you can't change anything yet everything is down, you can not even post on the blog.

Very true, how dare Sony try to use that law thing on criminals. They should have just taken the matter into their own hands; make a bigger botnet and crash their servers. That'll learn 'em.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic. What exactly did Sony do wrong here? Yeah, they removed the Other OS feature (one which 99% of users don't care about) and lawsuits on against Sony that are pending. People boasted about how they have bypassed Sony's PS3 security, so Sony sued them over it. The way I see it Sony didn't start this whole suing thing, they are just being defensive. In any case, why do they "kinda" deserve more criminals to target them?

How much longer before PSN is back online?

I wish I knew. It'd be nice if Sony would give some hints. What they're saying now is "As we get closer to restoration of service". :hmpf:

Luckily I don't play on-line games.
