I'm thinking of getting a PSP

I've been told to get a PSP 3000 instead of a go because apparently the Go is pretty terrible.

What games do you recommend? The PSP exclusive battlefront games are obvious so you don't need to tell me to get them.

Get a Burnout game. It's the most fun I've ever had on a PSP.

I own a PSP 3000, and for me it's better than the GO simply because you can use UMD discs with it and with the Go you apparently cannot. It feels a little flimsy, and yes, I broke mine but if you don't go and sit on it wearing a studded belt you'll be fine. It's a great console.

As for games I'd suggest either of the two "Proper" Grand Theft Auto games if that's your kind of thing. I wouldn't be able to vouch for the quality of Chinatown Wars as I've never played it, but it might be worth a try if you've played the other two and enjoyed them.

Resistance: Retribution is also a fun game and doubly so if you own both a PS3 and a copy of Resistance 2 as you can unlock some extra stuff like extra levels, a new story to play through and a new weapon to use though you're not missing out terribly if you don't have a PS3 and Resistance 2. I'm a really big fan of the series.

Also I had a great time playing the King Kong game. It's a First Person Shooter and the controls are a little awkward at first, what with the PSP's layout but when you get used to it it's a very fun little game. However reviews I've read of it aren't that positive but personally I found it a good game, though I managed to finish it in about six hours.

Hope this helps!

PSPgo is strictly download only, so unless you are willing to shell out for a wifi, get the PSP3000.

Or wait till next year when the PSP2 is out.

Definitely do not get the star wars games, they are sub par, unless you own a wii, then you will be used to rubbish.

SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 is the best PSP game hands down. Fireteam Bravo 2 is also pretty good. And no, I'm not just a SOCOM fanboy. They include a lot more in their games than a quick campaign like Call of Duty: Roads to Victory. SOCOM has an amazing campaign, great online multiplayer, and also includes online co-op missions and custom missions. Your right about wanting the Battlefront games though, they're great too. The campaign is fun and so is Galactic Conquest. However, the 3rd person controls aren't as good as the 1st person that BF 2 had, and the online isn't that great, but the games is definitely worth it.

I know it's just a blurry pic but I think it looks really ugly.

Also TWO cameras? I guess they're taking idea's from Nintendo's "Useless shit that no one really wants or needs" department

EDIT: A Rear trackpad? Do you need like 3 arms to use this?

My brother bought GT5 and its pretty impressive. The car models are really superb but it seems like that's where they spent all their time along with the tracks. The gameplay is terrific nothing to fault. But when you see the shadows on the cars, you really feel disappointed. They have spend absolutely no time on them. They're boxy and really dont reflect the general look of the game. Another annoying part is the menus. They used different sized boxes for different parts of the game, and you try to go right but you go up instead and you click into that menu. It looks nice, but I get annoyed by it.

I think one sentence from IGN kinda summed the game up, "its a 10/10 simulator, in a 5/10 game."

Well then why not contribute more, maybe offer reviews.

Heavenly Sword.

Personally upon looking at this it seemed like that typical JP games I loath, I was bored so I downloaded the demo, and found it to be one of the best games I have played.

The story is pretty good, they actually had it sorted out to be a trilogy (sadly only the first has been made).

The bad guys are pretty sweet, some complain about being corny but as a kid who grew up in the 80s it was nothing worse than I had seen, personally I love they are crazy SOB, makes the game funny.

The lead character Nariko has been well made, sort of like wonder woman, but without the ultra feminist man hating attitude, a more warm caring nature.

The supporting character Kai, is an interesting character, seems like she is a bit slow, but you can't help but feel for the girl.

The lead bad guy Bohan is comical to watch as he tries to take the heavenly sword from Nariko, but is out shone by his minion flying fox, who is a funny as hell nut job.

The story is well done, and develops the characters well, as well as plenty of humour to keep things going, but not at the expense of making you feel less for the characters, and managers to get an emotional response from the player.

At its core its a hack and slash, but so much more, the thing for me that makes this game is the 3 fighting styles Nariko has, ranged which spins the blades around her on long chains but does little damage, quick which does medium damage, and power which does lots of damager.

The best part of this is the virtually seamless ability to switch between any and all 3, and it is very responsive, this along with the unique counter attacks, and super styles which gives you like a super move, 3 levels per stance makes the fighting rather fluid and unique.

Additional combat feature is after touch, when you do Kai's missions as she uses a (like a chain gun cross with a bow and arrow) you can hold the square button and guide where it hits, and time slows down while you control it.

Sadly this after touch can be annoying especially for opening some doors, and sadly the game is not very long either.

Overall a great fun game with awesome fighting, well thought out story, and a good dash of humour.

90/100.

Well it came out in 2007 so its pretty cheap.

Lol, the chain gun bow and arrow wasn't a hint?, Twing Twang is Kai's bow and arrow thingy, If I remember the first level you play as Kai its called twing twang.

There is some insane stuff you can do with her, run over beams in a building, you hang upside down and shoot in one part, you can set her arrows on fire then send them into exploding barrels.

Picked up Gran Turismo 5 last Monday, would have to agree with most of what Roncanator said. The biggest letdown for me was how much it was like GT 4. With games like MW 1 and MW2 they can be really different because they have a different story, but with games like GT 5, you're pretty much picking up the updated version of its predecessor. I guess that's what I should have been expecting, but I would have enjoyed a few more things different other than just more cars and tracks. Even with that being said I thoroughly enjoy it and recommend it to anyone who interested in a realistic racing game. [No cops chasing you, no bombs you can throw at people]

No need to be sorry.

For those interested the 27th hackers conference starts on the 27th, with well known hackers from all consoles giving speeches, including one of the guys behind the PSGroove, and supposedly going to explain how Sony failed in its security, and new exploits coming.

Also for anyone with PSN+ who is not aware, while the download for the DC beta is only 160ish mbs, they are saying that it needs 15gigs free space.

Also for anyone curious for comparison, a full back up of any of the lego games is 6gigs max, TFU2 (EU) is 11gigs, FF13 is 40gigs, so 15gigs for a beta is massive.
