General Magma Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I have looked at the PS2 browser and it says "copy" on some files, is it possible to copy the game saves to another memory card? If so, I will buy a 32MB card tomorrow, my little brother also has that one and never had a single problem with it. Thanks, ~General Magma EDIT: Where are your 64MB cards from which died? Qware? Sony? Edited December 1, 2009 by General Magma Quote
DarthSion Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Sony Qware and another that skips my mind. Yes you can copy to another memory card, its horrible but just get yourself an 8mb. You can also copy to a pen drive. Quote
General Magma Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 OK, thanks, but I think the amount of 8MBs I'll need would be a problem. I heard 8MBs are the only ones that are flawless, but they are so expensive where I live. They cost 25 euros, and 32MB costs 25 euros aswell, and that'll all be expensive if I have to buy a few memory cards of 8MB. The 32MB that my li'l brother uses has been flawless so far, he used to have a 64MB which died, so it is likely the problem with the 64s, and looking at the expensive cost of the 8MB cards I'm worried it'll suck up my money in a short amount of time. Are you sure 32MB won't be good too? (As I can still access my 64MB memory card, even though it may disconnect, I'll use it as a back-up and I'll copy the files to the new memory card I'll get then) ~General Magma Quote
DarthSion Posted December 2, 2009 Author Posted December 2, 2009 Have you been listening to what I have said, you can use a pen drive. Buy 1 single Sony 8mb memory card, then buy a pen card, put your most used saves on the memory card and the others on the pen drive. Here look one of these, are what you need, they are a good brand, or just get a cheap one. http://www.verbatim-europe.co.uk/en_1/prod...ices_112_0.html Quote
JeffD984 Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Just beat Assassin's Creed 2. I had heard it was pretty unbearable on PS3, but other than pop up I never noticed the frame rate issues that some complained about. Pretty good game, definitely more enjoyable than the first! Quote
DarthSion Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Just in case there are any fellow Aussies reading, we are getting the short end of the stick again, our useless feminazi run ratings system has denied Alien Vs Predator a rating due to its high level of violence, and Rebellion will not release a censored version. DarthSion Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Yeah I know, I just hope the Au/US dollar stays as good as it is and I will just import it. Quote

Oh, that is an amazing game. Beyond the insanely exploitable hold-throwing-knives-button-while-walking-off-a-ledge button [think, reenter the Palazzo Ducale], I didn't notice a single glitch or graphical error [beyond pop-in]. But I have good luck with that, my copy of Mercenaries 2 was pretty much glitch-free as well. What did you think of the ending? [no spoilers, just in case] Quote
DarthSion Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 New transformers game, doesn't look too bad. http://au.ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/54929/tr...id=va9afadz0csw Quote
CF Mitch Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 (edited) Whoa Not bad at all Thanks for the news. From what I can tell so far, I will definetely buy this one Greetings, CF W Edited December 12, 2009 by CF WeaZZel Quote
prateek Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Cool game trailer, but the game might not be that good, considering previous Transformers video games. Hopefully, this one is different, Quote

DarthSion Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 Yes, AVP has had its ban in Australia over turned it has got an M15+ rating with nothing to be cut. http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/105/1056422p1.html Quote
prateek Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I'm getting a PS3 soon, and I'm wondering how I should start off my PS3 career. I know I'm getting LBP because my sister wants it, and that's all I know so far. Quote

I know I'm getting LBP because my sister wants it, and that's all I know so far. Uncharted (1 and 2) is quite good. Orange Box (If you haven't already got it. It's the best game bargain ever... and I got mine at under half price!) Metal Gear Solid 4 Valkyria Chronicles (LBP is OK but we bought it for our kids most of all.) Quote
DarthSion Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 I'm sorry but that is a silly question, if you want game advice at least tell us what you like, there are too many to say with out at least knowing what genre you like, or what type of gamer you are, a hardcore gamer or casual, gen x or gen y. If you like star wars, the force unleashed ultimate sith edition. If you like fighting, well there is Soul Calibur 4, Street fighter 50 billion or what ever it is, and Tekken 6. Given your on this site, I can personally recommend lego star wars the complete saga, lego indi the original adventures, and lego batman. If you like fun games with great story humour and shooting and blowing stuff up, the 3 ratchet and clank games. If you like shooters, modern warfare 2 seems popular. If you like sports EA has a bunch of red neck sports. Or you could go to blockbuster and hire out what you think looks good. Or if you have a decent download limit, the PSN is full of demo's. The mini's seem popular with gen y gamers. Quote
prateek Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 (edited) My dad probably won't let me get shooting games, so I'll just get GT5 (when it comes out) and LBP and a sports game. I might also get Assassin's Creed II or Uncharted 2 and if Battlefront comes out for PS3, I'll get that. Edited December 21, 2009 by prateek Quote

As Siegfried suggested, Metal Gear Solid 4 is an excellent game but you can really enjoy it and get into the whole saga atmoshpere only if you have already played the previous 3 canon games from the series. If you do, you won't regret it. Quote
Sergiu Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I got my Playstation 3 last year, in the summer, and after that I bought 2x GTA IV, Uncharted (it came with the console, along with Spider Man 3), GT5 Prologue, Tomb Raider: Underworld and that's all for the moment but I plan to buy next year Uncharted 2 and maybe Metal Gear Solid 4. Anyway the PS3 is really great and I don't regret buying it. This year I received from my parents a Playstation 2 along with the GTA Trilogy, it seems that I have a very big passion for GTA. At the moment I do not plan to buy any new games for this console. Quote
JeffD984 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Given your fascination of cars, Gran Turismo 5 does sound like a good choice! Burnout Paradise is a lot fun as well. Uncharted series are both great, as is Assassin's Creed 2. I have not played Little Big Planet but have heard stellar things from it. Metal Gear Solid 4 was a game that was just not for me, I enjoyed 1 and 3, but 4 never maintained that momentum and passion I desired. Keep us updated on the games you get! Quote
prateek Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I might have to convince my dad to get GTAIV or I'll just borrow it from a friend. I'm dying to play COD6: MW2 but I doubt I'll be able to. Quote
hewkii9 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Given your on this site, I can personally recommend lego star wars the complete saga, lego indi the original adventures, and lego batman. Only one of those. They're effectively the same game with minor changes and different settings - I'd go with either Lego Indy or LSW. Assassin's Creed II for sure. Batman: Arkham Asylum, too. Also, get inFamous. It should be cheap now, and it's amazing. Quote
DarthSion Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 Your dad?, oh yeah right nm. Well then tell pa to buy you ratchet and clank tools of destruction, its now platinum so will be cheap, and you can tell him while you shoot and blow things up, its rated PG well in Australia, but there is NO blood if thats what he is worried about. If not when I was a pup mum was always a soft spot to suck up to. Quote

I think I might also buy Assassin's Creed 2, I played the first one for a few months and it was very good. I also played for some time Motorstorm, pretty good game. I don't think I'll buy Burnout Paradise because I would prefer to have a Need for Speed, if I manage to find PS3 one in a store. Little Big Planet seems quite interesting, tough it's not for me. I don't think I'll buy other games for a long period, mostly because I have too many expensive hobbies. Quote
